When I joined 300 was an overpay for apples

So when I first joined WP apples went from 650 to 1,000
(Not trying to say back in my day)
Now the lowest I've seen is (occasionally) 900 but usually over 1,000
I can understand some price climb on account of RL inflation
This raises a question;
What price is reasonably fair to buy apples at?
I do not have the kind of money to buy apples myself with RL cash & ofcourse I want to be as frugal as I can with my mush but also want to be fair to the seller
I was budgeting 1k per apple
