@Pumpkin That's fair, I didn't trust my local hospital either in three of the places I've lived. That's good your work does that for you. I am trying to look for work that will give me benefits like that, but I am afraid I will not find anything because of AI. It's my last year in college, and I am sure I will be successful yet terrified of the evolving landscape of work.

@Flu My local hospital refuses to have high risk pregnancies' if they can help, like the really called up my high risk doctor and told her they didnt want me delivering there LOL
Flueryn
@Pumpkin I'm glad they sent you to a more equipped one! That's quite a scare!

@Zefhyr, Thank you! I keep applying. Right now I'm on temporary insurance that a kind man helped me get, but it doesn't cover procedures that I need.
Flueryn
@Zefhyr, I'm sorry to hear that. I lost my memaw to a hospital here because they messed up her surgery and caused her to get sepsis. She was on dialysis for two years before referring to hospice because the pain was too unbearable.

@Flu Like my local hospital had me go to a hospital more equipped 2 hours away which there I almost had to have a emergency c-section because my daughter's heart rate kept going from 140- almost 0

flu, keep applying for the insurance no matter what. there are state organizations that can help you find a good program
Flueryn
@Pumpkin Yes, that's a different story and I respect that decision completely.
Little Pumpkin
@Flu Ah yeah, I have insurance though the state and through my work

@flu, you assume all risks overseas. i lost my best, dearest friend to a foreign hospital. i cant get over missing her.
Flueryn
@Pumpkin Well, I don't have insurance. Perhaps that's the reason? I can't afford it and the state insurance keeps denying me every time I apply. But I also get denied by marketside because I don't make enough. T.T

@Flu Even though I dont like the price id prefer give birth in the US im extremely high risk as being pregnant can put me in a coma.
Flueryn
KJKarma, Perhaps. I've seen midwifes and women who already have given birth be more helpful than doctors when it comes to birth.
Flueryn
Frankly, even with airfare, it might actually be cheaper to give birth in a different country at this point. I've seen some Americans go to Turkey to get all their yearly check-ups in one go, including exams that should be standard in the U.S. I've seen it usually costs around 4,000-7,000 in total depending on what care package you sign up for. Way cheaper than hospitals by a long shot. The ER tried to charge me 1,000 for them doing a pee test and a swab on ,me and nothing else. :(
