I see you have wooden fence with some wires around-is that all you keep them in? If goats are anything like cats they are very curious and very smart so they can escape almost from anywhere XD do goats run away? If yes is there rumor telling how often?

Hurry, If they go into heat, then that does mean they aren't pregnant. When they go into heat, that means their body is ready to breed, and there wouldn't be a baby currently growing inside of them. I believe that spaying and neutering animals is the right thing to do because we already have many on the streets without homes, and many others in pounds, plus the ones that are currently being put down due to crowding. Also, the reproductive system is only there to cause health issues and inconveniences for an animal if it isn't being used. This is something I have learned after having undertaken the loose study of veterinary medicine. If an animal has been castrated, gelded, neutered, spayed, wethered, banded, whatever the term is, they are an overall healthier individual. ~~ ~~ The fences that we have surrounding the goats are very strong, but they are curious creatures. In the past, whenever there's been a hole in the fence, or a weak spot, they find it. I will admit, they have wound up in the road a couple of times, and I have witnessed my neighbors bringing them back up our driveway. However, we haven't had any incidents in months, and all the weak spots in the fence have been patched over (to my knowledge). They don't run away, however, as they prefer to stay close to familiar territory, the farthest they've gotten is 5 feet outside our property, and they really only want to escape if they see a tasty plant outside their reach. Thank you on all informations and opinion :D P.S. So goats just like to stand on the other side of a fence and mock you and your fences XD

I think it's good to have opinions ^^ , to engage, think, see views-I think it's problem if it's not broadened every once in a while and if it's unmovable-but making an opinion is hard to be honest XD like we had this convention that was or wasn't acepted here in Croatia that was saying soemthing about LGBTQ+ and I don't know why, but it was hot topic for a while, people saying it's good or bad and mostly nobody read that 40+ pages of convention to see what it really says-they mostly heard rumors and adopted those opinions without thinking. That idocity got me thinking and wanting to see what LGBTQ+ really is and stuff and there is so many stuff on internet, artists, people, historical facts and movies so to extract opinion wasn't easy and I don't think my opinion is final there. Still I think it's better to have even half baked opinion then adopted opinion on stuff. Okay, why I wrote an essay in goat thread X'), sorry :')

Ah, that's no problem. I'm glad to hear it, really ^^ I see far too many individuals in this generation that are media raised. But... I guess we should get back to goats XD Edited at November 28, 2020 09:46 PM by Meian

Just an update, the goats still haven't gone into heat, so I assume they all took, and they're all pregnant! <3 Now I pray for no miscarriages and not a single stillborn, as well as no complications. :')

My little sister's friend and her mom have goats and they breed them every year. There hasn't been any problems before thankfully so far. The only thing that created a stir was one goat hid her pregnancy the WHOLE time, she had been eating a lot so they just thought she was getting chunky plus winter coat, and she gave birth to twins.

Book Bean, XD I can totally see a goat doing that. I control how much my ladies eat, luckily, so they can't hide their pregnancy by pretending they're getting chunky >:D The only issue is that I have to know at what point in the pregnancy to start feeding them more and how much more to give them :')

That does seem smart and yet cause another problem XD one of the twins was very close to my sister's friend so they kept her. My mom had suggested the name Secret or Whisper for one of the goats. Thankfully all I have to worry about is my parakeet Cashew who likes biting my face and screaming and gorging himself with millet >.<
