For Mods:
I think this is the right place to put this, i may be wrong if so please move it and sorry for the incovince!
.
Over the years I have raised almost all types of farm animals and other things. I have learned a lot of tricks and ways to help avoid vet bills when you can safely do things at home.
.
.
!!IMPORTANT!!
If you are not comforable with doing things in the tips sections, then don't please seek a professional
Most the things I will Say will probably be stuff just like helping your dog get over a sickness, helping with a sticker stuck in their paw.
.
There will be more advanced stuff as well like stiching together a turkey, Which i have done and plan to explain how I did!
.
.
On that note here are your warings of what to expect so no one reads something they were expecting.
.
!!WARNINGS!!
  • Blood will be mentioned but will not go into detail on, if you can't haddle that i do not recoomend reading this! If you still want to know tips and trick with out the bloody stuff please pm me and I will send you want i can and sensor as much as i can or completely rewrite it so you can understand these things as wel!
  • There will be some death to animals. I have lost many animals living on a farm and right next to a highway, i want to share my expeireince in hopes to help others. But if this bothers you please do not read or look at each waringing on each post.
.
I will put warnings on every post!
Meaning, if there is gore, death or anything else I will try to warn you every time in each new post!
.
You can Post your tips as well!
If you have tips you have learned then you can post them too, but please use warning labels in every tip. Have a little background information (Like how it lead to this) and the outcome!
If someone is not comfortable doing one of these tips and tricks then please dont shame them or presure them! Everyone had different limits and that is okay.
If anyone spreads hate or harm at all, I will be messaging you to take your post down or even contact a mod!
.
.
Please be respectfull to everyone!
.
.
I will reserve the first 5 more posts. Each one will follow similar to this:
.
.
Waringings and Explinations: Post 1 (This post)
Animals and things I have Raised: Post 2
Common things for most animals: Post 3
Post 4-6 have not been decided yet but I will up date this!

Common Tips for most house hold animals
(Cats and dogs)
.
Please know what things are toxic to your animals! some people don't know what their animals can't have. I will list some below!
.
.
Things Toxic to dogs:
This list is from google! I will be doing more reasearch when I have the time to but this is just a quick draft!
  • Rasins and anything with grape in it
  • Chocolate (this includes icream with chocolate in it)
  • Avacado
  • Chives
  • Caffeince
  • Onion
  • Alchohol
  • Yeast Dogh
  • Macadamia nuts
  • Mushrooms
  • salt
  • fatty foods
  • corn on the cob
  • candy
  • nutmeg
  • citrus
  • garlic
  • Raw eggs
  • Raw meat
Things toxic to cats:
  • All the same things as dogs and a few more things!
  • They can't have most tea!
  • Cooked bones can also cause harm to them as well!
Things to know about most animals:
Most animals actually can't have milk after they ween off of it! Being able to drink milk (even as humans) Is a genetic mutation where we can break down the lactose in milk.
In simple terms most animals are lactose intolerant. Unless you consistently give them milk while growing up you shouldn't give them milk when they are older. And even then it can be dangerous so please be carefull with all dairy products!
.
Things to do to help you in the future:
When your animals are still in their baby faze make sure you handle them a lot. I will hopefully make a post on most animals i have raised and what to do with them when they are young to make them a great companion!

!TRIGGER WARING!
-Force vomiting to hellp animals
if this is something please do not read, if you do not feel comfortable with doing thing in this then go to a proffesional! I only want what is best for your animals!
Things to help wiht 90% of animals:
If your animal gets into something that can be harmful to them it is best to get them to throw up.
An easy and non-harmful way to do this is by mixings 1 part white vinigar to 1-2 parts water. Make the animal drink it and they will vomit within 2 or so minutes of drinking the liquid. This will only work if they got into the harmful substances within the last 5 to 15 minutes. Some things can digest faster so do it as soon as you can.
If this does not make them throw up you can try to stick your fingers to the back of their mouth to trigger their gag reflex, but this can be harmful if you don't do it propperly or if the animal bites down.
.
When the animal does throw up look threw it useing gloves and/or a stick. If you do not see the toxic substance wait a few more minutes as they may throw up some more.
.
If the toxic substance does not come out then please seek professional help to avoid damage!
If the toxic substances do leave the system watch them closely for a starter of 12 hours, if they show any signs of sickness go to a vet.
.
Some toxic affects may not start to show for the next 72 hours, stating that watch them for atleast 72 hours or eben 96 hours of the toxic substance being taken. If they show any symptoms of organ failure, sickness, vommiting, diaria, or acting unusual please go to a professional!
.
.
Please Note:
I am not a professional at all! I have a friend who is a vet tech in training and most of my knowlege comes from them and my childhood of raising animals.
But always do your own research for your animal and don't do anything you are not comfortorbal with!
.
Personal Expeirance using this method:
My dog at 9 months old decided she wanted to get into my snack stash and ate a small pack of rasins. I was alone at the time and paniced majorly!
{Panicing is okay, but beware of the time as the clock is ticking and try to stay calm and don't act irrationaly}
I called my best friend as I didn't know what to do, she gave me the white vinigar trick and my dog drank it with ease. (Do this outside as it is fast acting)
Within a minute she was walking around the yard and she threw up the rasins. I watcher for closely for the next 3 hours. She showed no signs of sickness. I gave her tons of water afterwards to help flush anything out that might be in her stomach.
She was perfectly okay the next day, but as a precaution i took her to the vet, the vet looked her over and said I did the right thing and that no harm was done to her as I acted fast!
.
Will this work with all animals? I am not sure but it worked for my dog and hopefully it can help you too!
.
If you think any other of your animals also got into this substance do the same for them. I do recomend going to the vet to get a check up on them after this to be on the safe side.
If you can't afford that, that is perfectly okay! most times symptoms will be within 72 hours of the incident and if you are confident everything went swell then things will be okay!
