You shift through your tote bag for the milk biscuits you bought earlier from the pet store. Upon finding them and pulling the treats out, the dog seems immediately interested and tilts their head to the side. You hold a treat out for them, and they walk forward a little, stare at you, then nab the treat from your hand and gobble it down. They seem very hungry! The dog finishes then looks back up at you and whines softly, like pleading for another. You give the dog a few more, and eventually they sit near you, licking their chops and seeming content. Upon closer inspection, you determine that they are indeed covered in dark soot but don't look to be injured. No collar is around their neck signifying they're owned by anyone

The dog watches on with curiosity as you once again shift through your items. You manage to pull out the bottle of water you got for free and a red plastic bowl anx pour the water inside before sliding it towards them. The shepherd sniffs it cautiously, before starting to drink for a few seconds. They seem rather content!

You reach out your hand to try and pet the shepherd. At first they eye your hand warily, but eventually inch a little closer to allow you to pet their head easier. You run your hand through their thick fur, and when you move your hand back to your side it comes with a layer of dark soot. The shepherd watches you, head tilted in curiosity

D. See if you can wash some soot off with the remaining water you have
