You dig through your backpack and discover the hunter's guide. You sit down on a rock and leaf through it until you find a page for a bird-calling whistle. It directs you to make it using materials around you, so you quickly scramble about and soon have a roughly similar whistle. Since you have a full backpack and didn't find anything else interesting in the guide, you leave it on the ground. Maybe someone else will find it.
