Awwh, I'm glad :D I drew Itztli in a bit more formal wear with the headdress similar to Tezcat's and Quetzalcoatl's heheh

It's so nice to draw him because he can have so many different outfits so it's pretty free as long as it's Aztec :3

Well, it largely depends - he tends to go out in public pretty casually clothed (of course finer materials and colours and such but) since he's close to his people - he's also the emperor as well as the high priest so with such a high position he isn't really limited to formal wear outside of ritualistic affairs ?

But when he conducts any and all rituals or sacrifices and such he wears priestly clothing c:

And of course more formal when he acts ambassador and front face of the empire in communicating with other empires -

Oh absolutely, he a bit comes and goes as he wishes - seeing as he has the other Tlatoanis that handle different regions and can fill in for him he can chill a lot in between the different celebrations and rituals (and be with his gf ;))

Hmm, I guess he kind of wears clothes like the ones on his reference? He doesn't always paint his face either, especially if he's just out leisure strolling

But on Toxcatl he has all these kinds of rituals and fasting he needs to do lmao, I even have some of it written down

Hmm, she's maybe a little busier than him depending on the time of year - she is the Cihuacoatl so she has a lot of responsibilities along with preparing for different celebrations and keeping the temples clean - she also is a bit of a housekeeper for Itztli too hahah

He wears more elaborate face paint for Toxcatl, yes c: Xpiayoc does his face paint most of the time, including then - for example it's darker and more reminiscent of Tezcat's (because he symbolizes him during that period of time), he also dresses up much like what Tezcat is usually depicted with. This stems from the impersonation rituals they had earlier, before Itztli came to power - Itztli was also an impersonator originally and was meant to be sacrificed but Tezcatlipoca intervened and made him the leader of his people instead - so now instead of one person being picked to impersonate Tezcat it's just Itztli, and he follows the traditions very closely accordingly :D

If you wish to know more about Toxcatl you can google it, it was a real thing :0 but - Toxcatl was basically the celebration for Tezcatlipoca, where they honored him for a month in May (a month in their calendar that is, so it lasted for about 20 days) - very formal, especially in my oc universe it's the big event of the year where they feast and sacrifice to him c:

There's also always outside guests there too, from Kemet and the Pfauenreich, but they arrive the day after it starts since the big opening rituals are only for the Aztecs c:

Itztli has a lot of rituals to follow before, for example he fasts a week before Toxcatl starts (the other priests only fast the day before) and he also goes through cleansing rituals and is to keep to himself pretty much - with the exception of Xpiayoc, since she's the Cihuacoatl.

So simply put, it's pretty much a national day (month) for them :D

In the real world Toxcatl there were a lot of pretty bloody inhumane sacrifices along with these other feasts, and this was also the case before Itztli came to power, but when he was chosen by Tezcatlipoca they stopped with all the human sacrifices and suchas Itztli became sort of a symbol for it instead-

Polar - Oooh, she does do a lot! And I can see how the first and second-in-command would juggle these kinds of things for sure. What they do is quite complicated and integral to making sure everything is in order with their empire, even outside of festivities.

And yeah! I read that tidbit in his profile! It's great that he gets to live for Tezcat like that, although if I recall correctly, being a sacrifice was also an honour in Aztec culture and custom. I'm still happy for Itztli, lol.

Oh yes, it was an honour indeed - perhaps it could be seen as the greatest honour of them all to be able to live as an eternal sacrifice of sort :D And he is VERY devoted to his lord, while human sacrifices were removed, if Tezcatlipoca ever asked him to sacrifice someone again he 100% would o.o,,,, but if he was asked to sacrifice Xpiayoc, would he?? Interesting question, hmm
Oh yes, Kemet is basically ancient Egypt but also a bit of Northern Africa and the Middle East :D it's where Sani (one of the other time travellers) is from,, although I haven't quite gotten to worldbuild it yet hehe

And yes, Shikhin might just come over for a diplomatic visit if he's got the time :3

Yep, the sacrifices are largely animal sacrifices, never jaguars though since they are sacred animals - they actually live alongside the humans in Anáhuac, specifically in Tenochtitlan, and are kind of like dogs - companions and guardians of the city :D
