brown recluses get such a bad name :(

they're actually very reclusive (hence the name) and relatively peaceful spiders

The brown recluse is a recluse spider with necrotic venom. Similar to those of other recluse spiders, their bites sometimes require medical attention. The brown recluse is one of three spiders in North America with dangerous venom, the others being the black widow and the Chilean recluse

oh yay just what I needed to learn

now I'm gonna be worried about finding one of these in my bed XD

You're a cool drawer! Imagine what you'll be like in a few more years time! The flaxen chestnut in the above post is probably my most favourite of all - you can tell you put a lot of time and effort into your art, which is brilliant.

Thank-you <3
I do hope to improve as time goes on, maybe even pursue art as a career if I get better at it. The other day I came across a drawing I did in Yr 7. It was soooooo cRinGy, but I loved to see how much my art had improved over 2 years.

The flaxen has to be a favorite of mine too. It was drawn for my mum ^^ my first full attempt at realism without any sort of reference. It took about 3 hours I think - i love how it turned out ^^ Although there would be a few things id change if I redrew it

I think you will definitely be able to make a career of it if you're able to keep it up. The fact that you drew that flaxen chestnut without a reference is brilliant - just imagine what you could do if you did have references to work off! Apart from a minor correction to the eye, I can't really spot any fault with it. You should be very proud of yourself. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for your art from now on ^^

Yeah, I can see the mistake with the eye xD
Its my normal, more cartoony eye style that I use. It kinda sticks out like a sore thumb lol
I'd post more of my realism art, but I drew them with references that were from google, so I can't credit them unfortunately x.x"
I'll have to work on more realism art, but I have time retraints :')

Do whatever style makes you feel happiest - realism is just my favourite style, which is probably why I love the flaxen horse so much. The problem is finding references, I agree. Unless you have your own horse (that's photogenic, mind you) it does get really hard. That's the thing that really made it difficult for me back when I was doing stuff. You're obviously very hard working and good at it though, so you never know what will happen :) You might not even need references.

I have two horses ^^
One is hella unphotogenic. He always looks away from the camera. Always. Its either that or he tries to eat it.

My other horse -- wellll....you can't get within 5 metres of her without food. And she will shy away from anything, including cameras :')

I sorta have a realistic style. But I grew up without the internet. I learnt by just drawing what I thought a horse looked like, so I have some proportion problems xD

Ah, that's a shame. Would be a lot easier for you if you had some good references of your own horses. But your style is already pretty accurate and detailed. It's super hard to draw horses from mind - it took me almost 6 years to be able to draw a decently proportioned horse from mind, so you're doing incredibly well. I wish you all the very best and can't wait to see more of your art soon!
