Vesper, Vesper, Vesper. This was hard to make, mainly because I am somewhat biased (cough cough more like very biased cough cough) on this, but I was also not sure who would be the most compatible. I think that this is the closest list I could make that matches up with or without previous history with the exception of Diamond who I think would be coming in third place if not for his brief history with Vesper. Anyways! Let’s do this!~

3. Named after the Greek God of War, Aries is actually much different than the God he is named after and is all the better for it. Honest, loyal, and very thoughtful, this strong cinnamon roll is the perfect, giant-sized love bug who always does his best to repay others with any small acts of kindness they have shown him. I would not be surprised if Aries were to buy Vesper a giant bouquet of flowers as thanks for a small gift. Not only would I think Vesper teaching Aries how to be more confrontational and or at least honest when he is uncomfortable with something, or attempting to teach Aries to be honest (I have know Aries for about 525 days so this man is going to take a lot of effort to learn to put his foot down and tell others “no”), but I also think that Aries will, in turn, be supportive to Vesper in any way he needs. Plus, I believe both of these insomniacs would spend time talking together as they try to fall asleep and maybe make each other tea or coffee in the morning. Vesper flirting with Aries would also just be really cute because then we get to see embarrassment Aries which is one of the best Aries. I think the only few problems they would have is Aries not fully communicating with Vesper and just bottling up his emotions in an unhealthy manner that might damage not only how they communicate but their relationship as a whole; in addition, Aries is much more used to a toxic relationship and people constantly out to hurt him so there will be an adjustment period to Vesper’s bombardment of adoration.

2. Named after his blue eyes, Diamond will be constantly getting lost in Vesper’s eyes. That was a kinda bad introduction, but let’s just roll with it. Diamond is definitely the kind of guy to be lovey dovey around his significant other(s) and he is absolutely devoted and loyal to them. While Diamond is new to romantic relationships, he is an absolute flirt and the teasing back and forth Vesper and Diamond have is absolute gold while also not being something healthy and not uncomfortable for one or the other. Both have a lot of the same interests too so I could see them both training with or talking about knives, going on trail rides or just visiting the stables, playing with puppies, or even playing in the rain. These two also have a brief history together which only enforces their relationship more because the two have gotten to know the other well at this point. Plus, Diamond and Vesper love to make an odd assortment of gifts for each other so it would be very wholesome and Diamond playing music and Vesper listening or dancing along would just be a nice treat for the soul. The only problem is these two would probably bicker quite a bit and Vesper might be uncomfortable with how touchy Diamond is who loves to express his care for others with a lot of physical contact. This is probably why, if these two had not known each other for a while, Diamond would be in third place.

1. Harland. No introduction needed. With or without their history, there are just a lot of parallels and interesting dynamics that these two can engage with. Plus, narratively speaking, it brings a lot of interesting conflict to Harland’s intentions. This conflict and how Vesper and Harland interact is probably going to determine a lot about the story as a whole and I am excited to see where these two go. Plus, Vesper wearing Harland’s cloak is just cute.
