Tadpole Starry's single student class has commenced :) Okay, so: Basically, you need to think 3d. So, first question: where is your lighting coming from? (Can be fire, the sun, whatever you want). Is it coming from behind the viewer? Behind the kangaroo, as if it escaped the fire? In front of? Edited at January 25, 2020 08:53 PM by Boundless

Frigging- I knew this would be a question. Like the right-hand side, probably up a little? The lighting would probably be the sun

The right side of the kangaroo, or the right side of the picture? (I can't read words xD)

The picture, I think? I added some darker to the left sides of the trees if you look, so the light would probably be coming from the right side then

Alright! So, from the view of the picture, the left of your kangaroo would be darker as well. To know where you are going to cast the shadows, you have to know the anatomy of your animal. So, what part of a kangaroo juts out a bit? (example: The shoulders are probably broader than... I dunno (I have literally no idea what a kangaroo really looks like), the midsection. Another example: The neck is narrower than the shoulders. That was kinda confusing, so I can reword it :)

Asdfghjkl Maybe I should know anatomy as well cause I don't even know that ;-; I'll just fail at shading first before failing at anatomy though :') . I have no idea what the frigg to do. Hm... I kinda tried to shade behind the back leg, a little? Argh. I'll try and mess around with what you said but I'm at the bottom of the Marianna Trench right now cause this is new to me- Edited at January 25, 2020 09:17 PM by Crimson Skies

Nothing I said made sense to me either >.< Here, simply put: The front of every limb of your kangaroo will be dark, and the back part of the limb will be light. Example: The back/right part of the hindleg will be lighter than the front part of the leg. And this, kids, I why Starry would be a horrible teacher :')
