I'm not gonna lie.. I can be a slow artist. At times, anyways. Sometimes I'll start on a piece and finish it in a couple of hours, other times it'll take me a week or way more. My problem... I get burnt out. Way too easily. I know what I want to draw, but sometimes I'll open up my program and it's like I've taken 3 steps backwards. I can sorta tell I'm improving at this whole thing, but it's just so hard whenever I get stuck like this. And it feels like it happens to me way moreso than it does to other artists.

I dunno. I'm just tired of it. I just want to draw and improve, but who knows what is holding me back. I guess I kind of want other artist's opinions on this? What keeps you going, keeps you motivated, keeps you from burning out? Because I seriously need some help here. :/

Maybe take a break and just draw for you.

Perhaps draw the first thing that comes to mind? Take your time and don't worry or stress about finishing it within a specific timeframe, just draw and have fun doing it. Take breaks if you need too, even if it's for several days to a week.

Maybe even do a couple/few drawings at the same time, go back and forth between the drawings as you start to feel burnt out with one of them, and go back to it when you start getting burnt out with the other.

@Desti

You're probably spot on... I haven't drawn something for myself in forever. I probably should. ;;

I usually work on multiple things at once when I'm doing commissions, though I mainly focus on one and switch to the other for a few minutes when I get frustrated. It does help a little, but I dunno. It probably would work better if I were to do that with stuff for myself. e.e

Thanks. ^^

I have more advice, probably relating to Desti's. If you have a sketchbook, Draw. Just draw whatever is on your mind really quickly, then go onto the next. It's also a nice way to fill a sketchbook. If not, open your art program, make a new thing, and do the same thing, just making the layers invisible.

If you don't want to do that, draw a scribble(s), whether on paper or digital and make something out of that. It's fun and sometimes gets you out of art block.
