Almost any dog can do a job if it's trained right. Labs, goldens, german shepards, even Pitties and malinois, I've personally met a Doberman Pincher who was a cardiac alert dog. Many breeds have been trained for those jobs but some of them just arent in the media

pitties where never used as nanny dogs, thats a common myth lol

It really is sad. I work in a vet hospital and I've had more huskies, Dalmatians, and chihuahuas try and take my face off than anything else, but I've never seen any legislation about them.

Such sweet dogs, all they want is love, snuggles, and sometimes a sweater

banning dogs is the dumbest thing

i thought service dogs had to be generally working breeds? like poodles, labs etc or maybe the criteria for blind dogs are much different?

Same, it's so unbelievably unfair and cruel. Like, it's hard for me to even fathom how someone could do that. Pitties used to be the "All American Dog" and were even used as nannys.

yes xl bullies are banned in the uk, france, norway and lots of countries here in europe

it breaks my heart when I see countries ban dogs based on their breed

a service dog can be any breed but the XL bully in question that was rufused to be allowed on campus was for a student who has seizures

That's adorable! In highschool I actually did a series of speeches about Breed Specific Legislation and how unfair/cruel it was

Should I start doing Art Auctions?July 28, 2024 07:13 PM

So, I've done commisions here in the past, and while I don't want to open commisions again, I want to be doing art here again. I was thinking about having an art auction forum, where I occasionally open a slot or two and people can auction for the spot.

I feel that this is a lot more fair to me, and that I'm (hopefully) selling my art for what its worth, and people are willingly paying me what they want to, if that makes sense. It also makes it so I can control the ammount of comms I'm doing, so I don't get overwelmed and end up scrapping the comm because I don't have the motivation to do it.

I was just wondering if you guys would actually be interested in auctioning for my art, and what you think a fair price range (SB to AB) would be :)

Examples:

Canine

Dragon

Feline

Humanoid

More examples and owner credits for characters found in my gallery

I'd say you should be setting your AB prices at 20/30 at the very least, and increase that for scenes/pieces with backgrounds.
With some detailed shading go up even more *^*

While I'd love to be able to sell my art for that much, I doubt most people would be willing or be able to pay that much. And while I want to be able to make a bit of a profit, I also want it to be accessible 😅

As a small player, thank you. I would totally pay 30 minimum but I'm not so great at WP lol

Yes, while i personally would never be able to pay that much, i belive your your art would be worth 5 to (while it makes me cringe) 10 apples. Your works is beautiful and to die for.

Auction ABs tend to be high! It's supposed to be a stretch/buy it now price :0 I don't think there's anything wrong with pricing high. Prices should be defined by what your art is worth, not what some people can/can't afford.

If you're worried about accessibility or pricing some players out, I'd recommend setting up a request thread or budget slots :0 but don't underprice yourself and undersell the time and effort that goes into your artwork *^*

Art auctions typically sell for higher prices than standard commissions, no one has to AB something for 30 apples, but it's always an option for players who would like to, you can set minimum increase and starting bid prices for as low as you like.

Obviously y'know, pricing is all up to you and what you're comfortable with - this is just what I'd personally do *^*
I'll be stopping by your auctions [if you decide to host 'em] no matter what you decide to price :]
