Ah, I see. Yes, I've run across those people many times. Which is why I had to take the queen role in Cadunt de Matriarchy, because I just knew somebody was going to pull that. What's wrong with having an evil character? I guess people just worry that nobody will want to interact with them.

For some of those reasons I am terrible at making evil characters.

they're an evil character. There's a lot of potential there, if done right. They shouldn't be there just to die or to be hated, because evil characters can be an excellent source for future drama and character growth, either by affecting someone else's character and giving them growth or they themselves getting a redemption arc. That's the reason they're so fun - you can do a LOT more with them and feel a lot more satisfied with their arc then you can with a character who's "good guy shy sweet" personality would otherwise block you from that. EDIT: Not to say characters like the "good shy sweet" can't have character growth, but it will be significantly less satisfying. I'd be much more pleased with a wicked character causing lots of drama (that people consented to, of course) and experiencing growth than a shy character overcoming their shy-ness. it's just not that fun when you have someone who already knows right from wrong versus someone who doesn't, or does, but do wrong anyways because they're selfish Edited at July 6, 2020 05:29 PM by Bear Claw

Speaking of evil characters, while I've been wanting to make a dad character who is a villain, but genuinely loves his child and treats them well. I still want him to be a horrible person to others though, lol. But you bring up a good point, Bear. Evil characters can be fun as heck, to watch, to read, and they should especially be so to write if done right. And there should be no doubt that they're evil at the end of the day.

sorta off-topic, but how many of you would be interested in a gang role-play?
