I prefer making unsympathetic characters but I've been trying to do empathetic and broaden my range.

I like to make totally unsympathetic characters so that if anyone tries to pull the old "I just met you, time for sob stories!" on me, I can just have my character be like, "Suck it up! Kill all of your emotions with FORKS AND KNIVES!"

Also, I haven't met very many teenagers like that, but then again, my town is really focused on youth engagement.

I think the only character that people said they loved of mine was a dog character. She acted very much like a loyal man's best friend.

Sincere compliments with some depth behind them are always wonderful to hear ^^ Although, I don't recall recieving a lot of them - two, maybe? One because he was a snarky smart aleck, and one because he was too pure for the world and was 'cute'. He ended up being killed, so.

There are certainly way more characters of mine that others dislike, because they don't give anyone attention for drama. So people get frustrated when their character collapses from some sort of poorly research PTSD flashback, and mine pays little mind. Their not unfeeling and unempathetic, they just don't pay mind to the drama.

Also, the flashbacks are often very poorly written. Someone just doesn't collapse after a completely untriggered PTSD related memory thing.

i noticed they either; sleep and it comes to them randomly, five pages in the RP, when they never once indicated their character had PTSD till now
or they; sit there and pity themselves, then faint from a random flashback and cry

i have another vent. stubborn characters that start shit because they can't let it go
like i understand it's their personality but at some point it's actually obnoxious and you have to let the rp move on

I am a stubborn person. I can feel strongly over something, but I get over it, or I think about whatever I am not budging from and think to myself, "Yeah, this isn't cool of me. I'ma stop it."
