:') Yep, I don't know how some of the huge group ones go on for so long. I need to weasel my way into getting 2-4 active good rp people and then open a RP with them all lol.

Hmm..It is a little niche, I would still probably join :') I'm always down for pretty much anything.
Tiny people ideas, that's a tough one haha

As far as I can tell it seems to be random. I know that if a wolf's playfulness level is higher you'll have a greater chance of succeeding but after that, I don't know.

XDD I know right? Another issue is that I know the moment I try and put up a group rp, it's going to die. It won't even get off the ground, it's just gonna die.

I thought about maybe an rp with other bird-shifter folk but I'm just ... I know it's too niche. It's not gonna take off.

He is adorable but he's so tiny! That's my issue. A lot of other rps and stuff have normal sized characters and he is just so small!

Maybe something where he would actually fit in and not get lost in the crowd--

Hello all! I'm Breezie, and I'm newer to WP (I played lowkey long, long ago, but now I'm back and want to figure out a breeding program), and I'm looking for any help I can get! I've been exploring as often as I can and am currently on level 8 of the forest with one "good" explore/battle wolf. I'm slowly working on training the others.

I haven't 100% figured out what exactly I'm aiming for other than HW heroes with high vitals. I'm aware vitals above +5 are "useless", but I like high numbers because they're fun. I'd love to breed a L/D Fallow, Chimera, or Black Phase type defect or a Gaelic Blood, divine health, crushing strength type boosts, but when it comes to deciding which wolves to keep or get rid of, I'm at a loss... I need help figuring out how to determine my expectations for breeding or how to be more strict when it comes to culling and how to know which boosts/defects are worth keeping.

Picking which wolves should be my alphas is also difficult for me, mainly because I don't know what type of traits are better for outside breedings vs home breedings, so any tips on that would be helpful. Right now, these two (male and female) are my alpha pair. The lovely people in chat helped me pick the female and I was told she'd be a decent alpha since she has a boost and has more of a chance to pass on said boost. I currently do not have a boost or defect male, so I figured the male's vitals and weight were high enough for him to be a decent alpha. Is my thought process correct on this? If I get a male with a defect/boost should he be my new alpha?

For those of you who have lots and lots of wolves or breed for battle-based traits, how do you decide who to keep and who to cull? There are just so many different traits and defects/boosts, I'm not sure where to start on culling.. I like pretty colors and coats, but I'm not sure I want that to be the sole reason I keep a cruddy pup, if that makes sense.

I know this is a lot, and I thank you in advance for any tips and help. I just want to figure out what exactly I'm aiming for as a breeder/explorer. Feel free to PM me if you're more comfortable with that :D

I'm going to try to put my thoughts into order, apologies if it comes out as a scrambled mess.
For me personally, I have two separate breeding goals: First is high vitals and high play, and second is high talents. Weight is a plus when I breed, but usually not a focus.
Currently my two goals are separate, but eventually when I get good enough wolves, I will merge them together, hence making a highly talented hero wolf with high play and preferably a boost like DH.
~
So for alphas: usually I keep my alphas as just two pretty wolves. Mine are my starters that I got when I joined. I almost never breed within the pack, at least not currently, so the alpha spot is basically reserved for eye candy/otherwise useless favorites.
Culling. It takes awhile, but eventually you kinda stop caring about looks. Since I don't breed for rarity, I will cull a low talent/bad vital wolf regardless of how many rarity points there are or if they have a fancy coat.
For me, anything below 20 talents goes. Weight doesn't matter, my current pup will only be 125lbs. If it's not a hero on the flipside, it goes. As my wolves get better, I will raise how many talents are needed to not get culled, but even with my 70T there's still a lot of low talent pups. It's a huge game of patience.

Ah, I see! Thank you!
Would you say it'd be more beneficial to focus on talents as opposed to weight? Like if I have HW females, should I send them to higher talent wolves as opposed to worrying about HW studs? I've not actually worried about talents before, so I'm interested. It makes sense, though, since higher talents mean less spent CP, right?

Personally, I prefer talents over weight, but that's a personal decision.
Each talent gives 20CP, so basically 1 talent= 60mush(cost of a bronze fig). 5 or more talents in battle, resolve, etc, your wolf is already ready to explore.
Weight for me is just an added bonus.
Although, after all that, there's plenty of good studs that are HW, high talent AND hero, or DH, etc. Moonlight has the most talents, but some studs have maybe only 100 talents but are 150lbs.
In essence, talents are probably your best bet early on, then start adding on HW, boosts, colors, etc.
Also. Don't get rid of your starter wolves. They come with free CP already assigned to them in battle traits so they're good to keep around for exploring.

Awesome, thanks!
I did keep my starter male because he is HW and almost a hero, but I, unfortunately, booted my female pretty early on, oops...
I'll keep an eye out for high-talent and boost studs then! I wanna try to spread out my breedings, though, so I'm not stressed trying to make space when all of them decide to go into labor haha

For breeding, I keep below Generation 10 wolves that have nice bloodlines. (Desired boosts, defects, ect..) If you want to breed battle wolves, keep boosts such as Elite Speeds, Divine Healths (the extra health is great for taking down enemies that deal a lot of damage), Inner/Crushing Strengths,, (could be more, can't think of them from the top of my head). Those are pretty beneficial when it comes to explore / pvp which is a great money maker once you get started correctly and get a nice tactic down. (Much like HEE with showing, it takes time but not as much time lol) For defect breeding, I would advise to ALWAYS look at the market to see how things are. The most desired breeds are Light Fallow, Dark Fallow, Black Phase, Chimera, Vitiligo. (From what I have noticed) But really any pelt defect would be desirable if it had certain traits such as: BE trained, CP trained, low generation, has a boost,, could be more but that's what I thought of from the top of my head. Pelt defects sometimes sell great, and sometimes they don't. I do think you should start of with battle wolves and make more funds before you get into the defects! (just my advice) Also~ talents don't really matter. Just gives your wolf some easy CP. ;)
( I will type more later- but that's the first question for ya! ) ( also the one i know more about x-x )
