The Uzuma Pride
For the Uzuma Lions, life means carving out a delicate existence of survival. They're a newer pride, but have been in existence for several years, enough to be recognized by other prides and nomads alike. Like any pride, though, they have their struggles, and have lives that are sometimes filled with harships.
This is the story of their lives, and how their day to day affects the journey each individual is on, but also the fate of the pride. Threats lurk around, searching for any sign of weakness for them to take advantage of. Challenges for high ranks and change of leadership could occur. Some cubs will be born and rejoiced while others might have their existence hidden in fear of what might happen to them if they're found out about.
The drama of just pride life in general, but that isn't all. There are two main threats to the pride that they have to carefully handle. The first is the large hyena clan that lives on the otherside of their western most border. These hyenas continuously trespass and pose threats to the lions, often seeking out any cubs to eliminate competition, and often challenging for kills the pride has. The second is the territory itself during the wet season. The lower half of the territory becomes flooded and turns into a marshland. It attracts prey of all types, but this also means it attracts dangers too. Every year the wet season brings with it both promise and threat, having claimed the lives of lions of all ages in the pride several times over the years.
Still the Uzuma pride is resilient and has slowly grown over the years. Now as another year dawns, the pride seems ready to take life by the horns and carve the life they desire out for them, allowing them to thrive instead of simply surviving.

The Roleplay Rules
Follow all of Eve's and WP's Rules.
1. Be Active, I'm aiming for a Post every 2-3 days for each character. And activity is required for Discussion and Rp. If you go inactive for over a week, your character will be removed.
2. This is a Semi-Literate Rp, so I expect at least 300 words per Roleplay Post. This also applied to descriptions for Personality and Appearance.
3. Maximum of 2 or 3 Characters Per Person for Now. There are Limited Roles so I want to give people a chance to join without running out of spots.
4. Cubs who aren't old enough to join the pride [2 months] will be NPCs until they are, or can remain as NPCs if the Mother prefers.
5. This Rp is heavily based on the affiliations and drama within the pride. So please create affiliations with other characters.
6. Free to Use Stock and Personal Artwork is allowed to be used, but please follow all of WP's rules for it. Stock also HAS to be from DA for my own sanity.
7. This Rp is Somewhere between Semi-Realistic and Realistic. So things like Black lions will not be accepted, and white lions will be limited to 1 per gender as well as looked down on as their survival and hunt success rates will be lower.
8. Since this Rp is more on the Realistic side this applies to size, behavior, etc. So a lioness might fight against a male, but she is extremely unlikely to win on her own unless the male backs down. Or with hunting, a lone lioness is going to struggle to have any successful hunts, and even a hunting party will struggle to bring down a Water Buffalo without a male or two with them.
9. I reserve the right to deny applications. I will usually let you know why, and give you the chance to edit and fix it to later be accepted. However, I will not walk you through what to do specifically.
10. No Perfect Characters, Plower playing, etc. These wont be accepted. Please put the missing number in your form.
11. You can decide how your lion handle mates, cubs, etc. Im okay if you want a male who is loyal to one lioness and only her, or if he sires cubs with multiple lionesses without having feelings, or if he has a preferred lioness or two but sires with multiples, etc. It's up to you.

The Pride Rules
1. All Male Cubs that reach 2 Years of age Must leave the pride, unless given permission by the King or Queen to stay.
2. The King Eats First at a Kill, Followed by the Pride Males, Then the Queen, with the Pride Females following. Cubs can eat with either Parent.
3. Fraternization with Rogue Males is Forbidden, and Lionesses found breaking this rule will be punished accordingly.
4. No Cubs are to be Sired by Males Outside of the Pride. If they are found to be, the cubs may be abandoned or killed.

About the Uzuma Pride
The Official Ranks
Im keeping the descriptions short because Im lazy.
King
This is the leading male of the pride, and is the primary force in charge of ensuring their safety. His reign is primarily over the males, leaving much of the females to the Queen's jurisdiction, but they both can help with either. As the Leading Male he has mating rights to the pride's lionesses, and can choose whether or not to allow the other pride males to sire cubs. His position can be challenged for.
Queen
This is the leading female of the pride, with her main task being in charge of feeding the pride and ensuring cubs are raised and safe. She can lead hunts herself, or elect another to do it in her stead, but she often has a paw in planning hunts. She also decides which lionesses stay behind when there are cubs with the pride. The Queen is considered off limits to other males aside from the King. Her position can be challenged for.
Pride Males
These are the other males in the pride who help the King ensure the safety of the pride. In exchange for their help in protection, and occasionally hunts, they, in turn, get safety within the pride, food, and mating rights too since often times the King will allow them to sire cubs. Their position in the pride isn't challangeable, but it is up to the King and Queen, so a male can be allowed to join or forced out depending on their favor with the Leads.
Pride Lionesses
These are the females of the pride whose primary roles are hunting and raising cubs. They can aid in the defense of the pride when it's needed, but typically the only defending they do is when some of them have been left to protect any cubs with the pride. Due to the survivability of cubs, females are allowed to have litters as they desire, as long as it is with a male who has rights for siring within the pride.
Cubs
These are just the cubs of the pride, the youths who are under 2 years old. So this does include yearlings. Cubs under a year old have no responsibilities within the pride. Whereas Cubs over 1 Year, but Under 2, are considered almost Apprentices, and will help the adults and learn from them for the future.
The Unofficial Ranks
Second Male
This is the male in the pride who is unofficially the second in command within the pride under the King. Typically these two have a close bond, most often being related though not always, but they are always close [you'll need to plan this affiliation out]. This is the male who is first to help the King if a coalition of males challenge, and if there are more than two, he will call up the next most experienced male to help them fight and so on. Sometimes responsibilities will be delegated to this male, and he almost always has siring rights. This unofficial role is assigned by the King, and will be chosen by his roleplayer before the rp starts.
Second Female
Like the Second Male, this is the female within the pride who is like a Second in command to the Queen. She often aids in helping the Queen plan hunts, often being the one to lead hunts when the Queen isn't, but not always. Sometimes responsibilities are delegated to her as well. This unofficial role is assigned by the Queen, and will be chosen by her roleplayer before the rp starts.
Preferred or Harem Females
These are the females that are chosen by the King to basically make up his harem if he desires. They don't really get any additional privilege, but they are considered off limits to any other males. This unofficial rank is given by the King, and can be taken away just the same if a female loses favor. Please plan with the King if this is an unofficial rank you desire.

Along with his Brother
Appearance: At first glance, Gazini doesn't appear to be the most eye catching of males in the world. He doesn't have as big of or as dark of a mane as some males, and that tends to make him look smaller than he actually is. More often than not, the male gets underestimated because of how he looks at a glance. However, those who don't pay mind to the male's actual size are in for a rude awakening when they meet Zi head on.
Standing easily at just a hair under four feet, Gazini is a tall male, though certainly not the tallest. However, what he lacks in height, the male packs in weight. He's above average in weight for a male his size, easily contending with those taller than him because of his burly mass at, the male comes in at around 543 lbs. One could almost say that his mane making him appear smaller than he actually is could almost be an advantage for him, since it could cause opponents to feel over confident.
Despite his mane not being rather long and full, or anything like some of the other males, it isn't something that is thin and bare like that of a younger male. His mane is still quite dense and full, just shorter and not as heavy and longer. It his mane does start on his head, moving down his chest and shoulders, and then down his belly. It actually travels down his belly so far that it reaches his hind legs. His shoulders and belly are where his mane is it's darkest, though, unlike other males, whos mane might turn black, his had barely gone past a medium brown. His mane ombres from a light blonde, to the medium brown color. The one thing that is noticable is that the tan and brown shades do have a bit of a red hue to them.
Like his mane, Gazini has a more reddish tan pelt, something that is darker than the tawny color of a lioness. He is darkest along his back and flanks, his coat lightening along his face and down his legs where they lighten to a more creamy color at his paws. Even his tail is lightest right before it's tail tip of the darker brown color of his hair. Zini has a pair of dark amber eyes that are a shade or two away from being a dark red in color. His scent is something musky and rich, with the slightest hint of something metallic to it. Almost like blood in a freshly earthed forest.  Personality:Gazini is a male who can come off rather charismatic when he is first met, but there is something that is deifinitely a bit off about him. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what until someone gets to know him more, but until then, it's usually just a feeling. Zin is not one to try and prove otherwise, either, being a male with a knack for all things gorey, vicious, and aggressive. If there is someone needing dirty work done, Gazini is one of the first ones to get it done, without any hesitation, in fact, the male may even enjoy it.
While it would be easy to label Gazini as a bit of a brute because of his aggressive and violent nature, the male is oddly calculating, always seeming to be a step or two ahead. Not enough to give it away that he is, but enough to keep others intrigued and keep trying, believing they are just that close to getting the better of him. Volatile and intelligent, Gazini is not someone who's bad side you want to be on, he will have no tolerance for you, and he's not the type of male to ignore things that irritate him. He meets them with teeth and claw to remove them permanently.
The rogue male seems to have no real moral compass, there is nothing he wouldn't do, no one he wouldn't kill in order to achieve whatever it is that him and his brother desire. In fact, one could argue that the only one Zi is loyal to is his brother. No one else is safe with him. The male would like kill his own cousin's cubs if he saw it fitting, which could be something as simple as them being too small, or him wanting that lioness to birth his own cubs. And this is not something the male is ashamed of either, the male has no shame, he wouldn't know it if it slapped him in the face.
Zini is a social male, not shy in the slightest, and can easily be one of the first to strike up conversation if it suits him. However, he can also be like a chameleon when he wants though, able to fade into the background when its needed. Usually, though, Gazini is a dominant male, and won't tolerate anyone, except maybe his brother, coming ahead of him. He'd take a step back and let his brother take the lead, so long as it was understood that they were equals. Other males though? Nope. He could never be their equal, and he is quick to prove it through violence when necessary. He's done it before, and he will do it again.
There is something unpredictable about the male, that it's hard to assume exactly how he will handle a situation. About the only thing that is predictable about Gazini is that he is unpredictable. If met with the same situation twice, there is no guaruntee that he will do the same thing each time. Sometimes the male will make go with a certain decision just because it might be fun. For him. Not for the other lion, but for him. And the male has a wicked sense of what is "fun".

Standing at 3.4 feet tall, Sibusisiwe is not the tallest of lionesses, but she's certainly not the shortest either. She has a good amount of mass to her, with all of it being finely tuned muscle designed for hunting. Her hind legs and shoulders have a good bit of muscling to them, giving her the ability to sprint quickly after prey for short distances, and still have the power to pull it down to the ground when caught. She weighs about 376 lbs right now, having lost some weight after giving birth to her cubs, but not enough to put her at a disadvantage, since she's still at a normal, and healthy weight for her size.
Sibu has a rather traditional looking coat, though it's slightly unique in it's own way. Instead of the normal golden tawny color, she's a bit on the paler side, though not by a whole lot. Her base color is a soft tan color, with the creamy underbelly meshing well with her base color. She has dark brown rings on her ears, and, most noticeably, a patch of greyish tan fur on the left side of her muzzle. This makes her rather easy to identify, even from a distance. Her tail tip is a dark, ruddy brown color instead of the stereotypical black that most lions carry.
Her eyes are a pale yellow color, lacking enough pigment to be considering gold or bright. Her vocals, though, are on the lower register for female, they're warm and comforting, often feeling like warmed honey or velvet. When she desires there can be a seductive quality to her voice that's hard miss, but she only uses it when she's interested in someone and flirting.

Sibusisiwe is a pretty straight forward lioness, with a gentle and more so easy going temperment. She isn't likely the one to cause problems, or start arguments, but she isn't a push over either. In fact, the polite lioness is rather fierce, able to act as a ferocious force when needed, particularly when her cubs lives are in danger. Being a first time mother she is rather over protective and little bit of an over worrier. She detests being away from her cubs for a long period of time, so she often is away from the pride for longer periods than normal for a mother. She also regularly moves all three of the cubs under her care so help keep them safe from any potential threats.
Despite her gentle nature, Sibu is a resilient female, the type to never give up and to keep getting back up to her paws after being kicked down. When she lost one of her cubs after birth, she didn't let it deter her from being the best mother she could be for her remaining cub. Now she has a total of three little ones to care for, and she refuses to leave them all with out a mother. This leads her to be a very determined lioness, always careful to be observant and to work her hardest to ensure she is successful at things. Because of her observant nature, the female can often notice things others might normally miss.
Sibusisiwe is, by nature and instinct, a very loyal lioness. Orginally it was to her pride, her queen, and her princess above all else. Now? Her loyalty still stands, but it slightly differs. Now she is most loyal to her cubs first and above all else, they are everything to her. Then it's her pride. She's still loyal to the deceased princess, insistent on keeping her cubs alive and protected as her own, and keeping her secrets she wanted hidden. She's also loyal to the current Queen, and as such King, but she's worried about the consequences of the decision they'll reach. She also is torn, wanting them to know their grandcubs, but not wanting to put them in a tougher situation, and not wanting to put the cubs' lives at risk. Because of this, especially the latter, she is a bit more reserved and guarded than normal. She keeps things close to her chest, and can be a little bit wary of others, especially the rogue males.
Normally, Sibu is a relatively social lioness who enjoys being around her friends and pride mates. She was one of those few who was kind and could be considered a friend to everyone, it didn't matter who you were. She's still that way to a degree, when she's relaxed and not worrying over the lives of the cubs she cares for. The lioness she was before she became a mother is still there, she's just taking a bit of a back burner as Sib makes her efforts to ensure the success of her cubs.
Basically, for now, the female's life revolves around her cubs above all else.
