Dashed and Divided

The year is unknown. A few years back, a nuclear war went wrong and sent the world into an apocalypse. Those exposed to radiation from the nuclear waste were mutated, turned into melting zombies that made it a few steps before they died instantly. Some lived, though, and became killing machines that infected many. Slowly, the population of these horrid, grotesque creatures grew. A coven of vampires, creatures completely immune to any effects of the radiation remained unharmed, and took refuge in a summer home out in the woods. The summer home is a large, modern style cabin, untouched since the discovery of it. The vampires soon came to the realization that they would die without blood, and how unfortunate for them that there seems to be no human survivors. Until they discovered otherwise.

A group of few human survivors banded together as an attempt to survive and barely manage to keep their lives. Unfortunately for them, the coven was made aware of their existence. Or, well, they'd soon come to discover that it was fortunate for them. The vampires take the group hostage, and take them back to their hideout. The vampires treat the humans like royalty and protect them with their lives, knowing they'd die if the humans died. The humans are treated like gods. Everything is good and well until the mutant monsters breach the forest and swarm the home, overpowering both humans and vampires. What happens next? Do they all manage to flee and keep their lives, or die trying?

Vampire Info

The coven is led by one vampire. The second in command has the same authorities and such as the leader, and is the first in the succession line if something happens to the leader. These two are generally the strongest and oldest, and have the best control over their abilities. Vampires have a number of abilities, and the longer they go without blood, the weaker they get. They have the ability to transform into a bat. This is extremely difficult to do, and the more control they have over their powers, the longer they are able to stay transformed. They have enhanced hearing and eyesight.

Vampires can put someone under their spell, and basically have them do their bidding. This happens whenever someone drinks the blood of the vampire. They are entirely devoted to the vampire, and the known cure for this has been destroyed. There are a number of other abilities, but the vampires must discover them on their own. They have golden eyes, and occasionally may have pointed ears. They have long, sharp fangs and sharp claws that they can control as they please.

3. This is on the higher end of semi-literate. I expect at least 400 words per post, with decent grammar. If I feel you won't be able to meet this, I'll tell you.

4. No OP characters, no perfect characters, all of that stuff.

5. Please be kind to everyone.

6. Romance is highly encouraged! Make things sad if someone dies.

7. Your character can die! By all means, kill them off and introduce another one. Make things interesting.

8. Keep things fairly realistic to the plot. It's an apocalypse, there's no electricity or convenience stores.

9. Be active. Don't sign up and never post or engage in discussion. Pm me the word soup.

10. One character per person for right now.

11. Bullet point personalities are allowed, 10 minimum.

12. LGBTQ+ is allowed and welcomed.

13. Images are allowed, just credit them properly. Put your favorite dog breed somewhere in your form.

As her name suggests, Anthousa has the appearance of a delicate woman. But don't let that fool you. She's short, standing at a height of around 5'4 and weighing around 120 lbs. Her build is dainty and feminine, resembling an hourglass. The first thing most notice is her eyes. They are doe-like, framed by long and thick lashes. They are the classic golden like any other vampire, but in her right eye, the top half of it is a pale, stormy blue. It was caused by an injury that left her partially blind in that eye, and she has little to no peripheral vision in it. There's a visible line between the divide of blue and gold, a scar that cuts directly through her iris and pupil. It distorts it a little bit and blends the colors into each other, so the blue crosses into the gold and vice versa.

Anthousa has mostly soft features, other than her jawline. Her face is slightly long and her jaw is sharp. She has a Greek nose, a very straight bridge all the way down with narrowed nostrils. Her skin is pale and is almost clear of any blemishes and marks, the only exception being the light freckles scattered throughout her body. They are most prominent on her cheeks and nose. Her cheekbones are high and soft, slightly noticeable. She has rounded brows that are gently arched and neatly trimmed. Anthousa has full, soft pink lips that are usually adorned with dark red lipstick. Or blood, there really is no difference.

Often times, she can be described as 'fawn-like' due to her soft features. She has a resemblance of a fawn, a delicate and pretty creature. Anthousa has brilliant white teeth and incredibly sharp fangs. They are quite long, and are always perfectly sharpened into a thin point at the end. She often bites her own tongue on accident, which isn't very practical. Her hair is long and falls down her back in waves, and ends below her shoulderblades. It is silky smooth and always brushed through, and well maintained. Her hair is jet-black in color and in certain lightings, has a blue sheen to it.

Jewelry wise, Anthousa wears a choker with layering, and a blood red scarab beetle attached to it. She never, ever takes it off and it is her most cherished item. It's origin is unknown, but it's nearly as old as she is. Her body is littered with scars from centuries of battles, but one of the most prominent is on her stomach. Three long claw marks, jagged and thick. They begin at her naval and run diagonally up to her ribcage, ending just below her right side. She doesn't speak of how she got it, but it was clearly extremely painful and hard to heal.
