I might be a little late to the party, but if not I'd love to join!
Full Name:
Líadan Macdara
(LEE-uh-DAHN MACK-DARE-uh)
Nicknames:
Lía, for people she's actually close with, but generally she just goes by her full name.
Age:
24
Gender:
Female
Sexuality:
She's not picky
Species/Family:
Demon
Appearance:
Standing at 5'11, Líadan has a lithe and graceful frame from years of practice as a travelling performer, dancing and playing music. She tends to prowl, a gliding gait that means she seems to drift or pounce in a direction rather than simply walk there, although this changes depending on whether she's playing a character or not. Her face is fairly thin and angular, coming to a sharp point at her chin, with a long straight nose and high cheekbones. Long, sweeping brown eyelashes frame her almond-shaped eyes, which are a shade of brown so pale that they appear almost yellow or golden in certain lighting. Her mouth is almost always extended in a mischievous grin, rarely held in more sombre expression.
Her skin is very pale, and relatively unmarked by scars or freckles. Small scars and calluses do, however, dot her hands and legs, proof of the hundreds of practices that have gone wrong and the dozens of falls and stumbles she's had.
Her hair colour could most accurately be described as ginger, though its shade is harder to identify. Where the sun has bleached strands, they are far more golden in hue, but elsewhere her hair is a darker red, more comparable to auburn. It's cut to frame her face, though never to get in the way of her visibility, and she generally leaves it loose in a thick mane of wavy locks when she's not performing. It always seems slightly wild and untamed, but not to the point of being messy.
She somehow always smells slightly but distinctly like a campfire, the smell of burning wood and paper - though whether this is from sitting too close to the fire every night or some strange innate reason, she couldn't say.
Personality:
Líadan has grown up as an actor and a performer, and she delights in drama, chaos and the art of the spectacle - and, above all, in attention. She's easily bored, consistently looking for something or someone to entertain her, and lives almost solely in the moment - both a boon and a curse. She rarely makes a plan, and even more rarely sticks to one.
She consistently encourages others' worst impulses - or just their impulses in general, for better or for worse. It's almost as though her own impulsivity is contagious, and spreads to everyone around her. Where she can't encourage others to act on behalf of her own entertainment, she's plenty capable of stirring things up on her own, and finds herself tracking down reactive people like a bloodhound. The more extreme and entertaining their reactions, the more Líadan feels the urge to poke the bear, heedless of her own safety, as though encouraging others to turn to annoyance and envy and anger fuels something within her.
Most notable, though, is the more social side of her personality. Not only is she friendly and cheerful, always happy to socialise and listen to the stories and drama that others bring with them, but she will go along with any joke or performance without so much as a second thought or a briefing. She's never met a bit she won't go along with, and she'll happily intervene to get anyone else out of trouble - or into it - if it means she gets to play a character and entertain herself.
Though she's always trying to encourage others to be more reckless and impulsive, Líadan is not a malicious or manipulative person. She's not plotting or scheming, or consciously trying to tempt others into certain behaviours to their own deficit. She's simply reacting, genuinely and enthusiastically, to the environment around her and trying to alleviate her chronic boredom. She's not thinking three steps ahead - she's barely thinking one, to be honest. Líadan's never really faced any consequences for her actions, as a result of flitting in and out of towns whenever she pleases, and as such doesn't really see a reason to think about the future ramifications of her words or actions, which does occasionally get her in trouble.
Strengths:
- Graceful, acrobatic and dextrous - the boons of the travelling performer life.
- Sociable and friendly, easily joins conversations
- Physically resilient, heals quickly - which contributes to her impulsiveness, as she's never experienced any physical consequences for her actions
- Good at acting and improvising - but only in the moment, or in character, not actually lying with intent since she's so bad at hiding her emotions. She's excellent at playing a role or going along with a joke, but terrible with long cons and schemes.
Weaknesses:
- Impulsive, very little self-restraint or considerations of the future
- Iron and holy items
- Terrible at hiding her emotions, it's very obvious when she's bored or amused, or when something gets under her skin.
- Struggles with and feels trapped by boredom, routine and confinement.
Other:
Líadan would adore Halloween, she'd be the kind of person to come up with a whole backstory for her costume and stay in character all night.
Ragebaiter extraordinaire but also a sweetheart, I love this idiot she's such a mess <3
