Lunar Thoughts on the Knights?: Astarya, having spent many hours of deliberation on the subject, has come to the conclusion that it would be most beneficial for both species involved to band together temporarily. RUBBER DUCKY For although the humans are certainly a strange species, and could definitely be dangerous the more they learn about dragons, they are nowhere near as bad as war. For war is the vilest of evils, so if an alliance must be formed with the strange two legged, curiously courageous against terrible odds human species, then she will be ready to lend her claws, and, if necessary, back, to the fight. Astarya, although rather lithe and agile, is surprisingly tall, standing at 16.9 feet from withers to claws. Her overall appearance in the daytime is stunning, her body covered in small, hard scales, which do become softer while swimming. These scales are covered in gorgeous patterns, a deep purple brindle with gold speckles, white overo patches, and a silver full moon on her upper left neck. Her neck and head is quite elegant, her cheek bone curving delicately, long muzzle slanting almost to a point. Her eyes, while looking oddly pupil-less, do in fact have pupils, but they are extremely slim, and white, and difficult to be seen at any time. At night however they do expand slightly, giving her excellent night vision. The most striking thing about her is definitely her fins. Her head fins, while looking rather decorative, do have useful purposes, that is for certain. The first purpose is to cover and protect her ears, which are simply holes, one on each side, hidden underneath the flowing, translucent gold fins. They can also tilt to amplify sound, and direct it more keenly to her ears. And, most shockingly, they can flare out at all sides of her head, almost creating a crown effect, and quite effective in scaring away attackers. Her back fin and hip fins are more useful for steering when swimming, whether through water or air. And lastly, her tail fin is her main propulsion. Her thick legs are clearly designed more for water use than land, where she is definitely not the fastest. Her claws strangely seem to resemble tree roots, looking soft and pliable. But they are anything but. Hard, miniscule scales cover her feet, creating three hard, slicing sharp daggers on each paw. Her back claw is used mostly for fishing, and not generally for fighting. Her tail however useful it may be for propulsion, is also a powerful weapon. If any attacker isn't scared off by her hissing and flared head fins and dares come closer, her tail will descend upon it like a battering-ram sized whip, smashing them into the ground, and most likely knocking them senseless. But luckily for most, she is not a violent creature by habit, and will rarely use it as such.
Personality:
Quiet | Calm | Perceptive | Knowledgeable | Kind | Understanding | Gentle | Astarya's calm and perceptive nature, instead of drawing others to her, has actually pushed them away from her. Dragons in her clan fear she is judging, and are spooked by her seemingly pupil-less stare. But as soon as one of them is injured and needs help, she will be there, comforting and guiding them back to health. As long as you are innocent, she will protect you, opening den to you, and caring for your needs. Some think Astarya is nieve, since she tends to believe in the inate good of creatures quite strongly, but she is in fact quite sensible, sometimes bluntly so. She loves the younglings of the clan, and will often be found sitting with one, teaching it the ways of some animal, or telling an old story from eons past. As much as she loves the young dragonlings, so she does all creatures. She has placed herself on a strict fish and vegetation diet because she does not believe it is right for dragons to hunt whom they please, whenever they please, submitting others to their tyranny. As such she has grown quite close to the woodland creatures, especially those of the night, and it is not uncommon to see owls and bats swooping around her as she loops and curls through the sky, or deer and rodents sleeping near her, comforted by her calm and protective aura. Abilities:
Night light Manipulation:She is able to focus on starlight and moonlight to create a physical light creature or object. If it is a creature it can act as a decoy or defense. As long as she stays focused, and has enough strength, she can keep the form for 3 hours straight Moonlight Levitation:
If you are observing this Lunar dragon at night, you would come to the conclusion that she can swim through the air, with apparently no help from anything whatsoever. But that would be, in fact, in correct. Yes she can swim through the air, her body twisting and legs kicking off to grant altitude and speed, but it is not without the help of light and air. For each step or twist she takes is guided by the light of the moon, along with the air the light moves through. And so she appears to swim through the air, but in fact she is walking, or sliding, over light! Stellar Blast:
Her main, and only, magical attack is a stellar blast, not too different from a supernova. She focuses on a single visible star, drawing it's power into her through her head fins, causing her pupils and fins to glow increasingly blindingly. Until she opens her jaws, where then a directed blast of gas and light explode into her target. Moondrop Healing:
Each month, on the night of the full moon, Astarya goes to find a pure water source. She will focus her light power, forcing light to draw and encase a pure drop of water 7 inches wide, 7 inches tall, 7 inches deep. She will then manpiulate the light to infuse with the water, creating a half liquid, half solid glowing orb. Any creature that tastes 7 drops from this orb in the next month will be healed of any internal illness it might posses at the time. The one downfall, is she cannot use it on herself, and it doesn't help for scratches or cuts, or any external injuries. u Omnilingualism:She also has the ability to understand and speak any lanuage on the planet, therefore aiding her in keeping the peace throughought species. If any were to taste a few drops of her blood, they would be able to understand as well, for a single day.
Strengths:
~ Has extremely good night vision
~ Agile, Swift in air and water~ Calm, thinks things over before reacting~ Can breathe for long periods underwater, only having to resurface every few hours.~ Will stand up for the "underdog", if she believes them to be innocent
~ Abilities, of course
Weaknesses:
~ Strong sunlight messes with her vision, and it is often blurry midday~ Intense sunlight can also burn her scales and fins, sometimes permanently damaging them if she's in it long enough. Therefore she tends to hide out underwater or in deep shade during the day. ~ She often overthinks things, and sometimes acts too late~ She also often gives others the benefit of the doubt, sometimes too often. ~ While she can heal others, she is unable to heal herself magically, having to resort to herbs and remedies for such healing. ~ She has a hard time opening up about herself to others, mostly because others hardly talk to her
~ The night of the new moon is always a dangerous night for her, since there is no moonlight to allow her to glide. On these nights her only power still in use is the stellar blast, and a weaker form of starlight manipulation.
~ One of her other big weaknesses, is fire. Just the sight of flames hurt her eyes, and the use of it against her has the effect of intensified sunlight. Crush:
