Appearance
Faye is a very beautiful young woman, whose appearance very much fits the description of ‘goth girl’. For starters, she is pale. Very, very pale. Her skin is an ivory white color, smooth and near-flawless. Her lips are a slight natural rose petal pink that contrasts with the pale color of her skin. A few beauty marks accentuate her natural beauty, with one being on her right nostril, another above the right side of her lips, and a third on her left cheekbone, just beneath the corner of her left eye.
Faye is descended from a Korean mother and a French father, and her features reflect this in a beautiful and unique way. From her mother, she inherited her gorgeous eyes, a deep, soulful brown so dark they are nearly black, and an upturned almond shape, framed by long, thick lashes. Her lips, also inherited from her mother, are full and soft, with a small mouth and a slight natural part between them that shows just a slight amount of her straight and white teeth. Her mouth is slightly crooked however, creating a natural, slightly mischievous smirk. Her long, black hair was another trait from her mother’s side. Thick, soft waves of jet black hair fall down her back and around her face like shiny, inky silk. They are matched to arched, well-defined black brows that give her a slight ferocity to her appearance.
From her father, Faye inherited her sharper features. Her jawline and chin are sharp and well-defined, and her nose is much the same, being beautiful features added to her stunning appearance. It would seem her beauty marks were inherited from her father as well, given the fact that he has a few dotted around his face. Her high cheekbones and the curl of her hair are also features that are inherited from her father’s side.
Unique to Faye, however, is the ever so slightly crooked nostrils of her nose, with the right being just a hair longer than the left. Her nose itself is just a touch longer than it should be. She also has a thin scar on the left side of her chin, reaching down from just beneath her bottom lip to the bottom of her chin. It is unclear where this scar is from, however, and Faye does not ever seem keen on telling anyone. In spite of these flaws, or perhaps because of the slight imperfections, she has a very stunning beauty in her face, and it is one that is appreciated by a few admirers in her life.
Physically, Faye is not exactly imposing, standing at the not-so-staggering height of five feet tall even. She holds herself with a certain grace and confidence that makes her seem a little taller than she is, but it doesn’t tend to do much. She has an overall petite body type, though all of her weight is carried around her hips. Her narrow shoulders and small waist contrast with her more than generous hips, which makes for a very clear pear body type. She has thick thighs, thick calves, and a larger backside. The rest of her body is pretty petite by contrast, with a small chest, slim arms, and a slender neck. Her hands are delicate and graceful, with long, thin fingers often considered “piano players’ hands”. Her nails are well taken care of and often painted black, dark red, or some combination of the two colors.
Her style is where Faye begins to really epitomize the descriptor of ‘goth girl’. She is almost never seen in anything other than black, with occasional pops of red accents. Her makeup is always dark, with heavy black eyeliner and a blood red lipstick. She does not always wear eyeshadow, but if she does, it is always going to be black with some pops of that same crimson hue at times. She often wears black chokers and a variety of silver piercings in her ears, including firsts, seconds, and two cartilage piercings in each ear.
For clothing, Faye often wears fishnet tights and/or thigh-high socks. With these, she always wears combat boots, doc martens, or something of the like. She often wears black shorts or short skirts, usually with a cropped shirt and a black leather jacket. If the weather is colder, she will wear simple black jeans instead of her tights, or trade out her jacket for a long trench coat. She also has a fondness for rings, and is commonly seen wearing several on each of her hands.
Down her right arm, Faye has a full sleeve tattoo of various flowers, primarily including a couple types of lily flowers. Tiger lilies, calla lilies, and oriental lilies adorn her arm, accented with abstract and elegantly swirling stems and leaves that connect them to one another.
Personality
Faye is quiet. That is perhaps the first thing that one will notice about her. She rarely speaks unless spoken to, but is always observing. Her dark eyes have a clear, calculated intelligence to them that speaks volumes about her internal monologue. She is rarely one to give input to a conversation, but always one to observe it. Surprisingly for her introversion, Faye is actually quite commonly seen doing this at parties and other social gatherings and locations.
In fact, she is quite adventurous and enjoys getting out of the house. She loves to travel and has been all over the world in her lifetime, and even when she is in one place for a while, she is always looking for something new to do there. Faye thrives on change, excitement, and adventure, and is someone who is more than happy to pursue these things fully independently.
Intellect is a core value, and she displays it quite beautifully. Top of her classes throughout her school days and always learning even into adulthood, Faye prides herself on being a very well-learned woman. Creativity is very much the same situation, as she follows many artistic pursuits, though her most lucrative is as a horror writer.
Faye isn’t exactly sunshine and rainbows, though, as she can be an incredibly difficult person to get along with. She is stubborn, quick to anger, and holds a general disdain for most people. While she finds others interesting to watch, she hates being approached and talked to, and rarely responds positively to it. If someone can get her attention somehow or interest her in the topic of conversation, she can be surprisingly talkative, but the issue is trying to interest her in a conversation.
Should one get to know her, they would find that she is quite sassy and sarcastic, often making quips about her current situations, or teasing the person she is talking to. Sometimes this is gentle and almost affectionate. Others, not so much. She has a tendency to be feisty no matter who she is talking to, and even if she likes someone, she will always point out if they are wrong. She loves a battle of the wits, even if the other party is not willingly participating. She can even get downright mean to someone if they happen to get on her bad side, which isn’t hard considering how prickly she usually is at first. While she would never call herself petty, the term very much applies.
Should someone manage to befriend Faye, however, they would find a very affectionate, warm, if quite socially awkward, young woman. She is incredibly protective of her few friends, and, although she will still taunt and tease them, she will be the first to jump to their defense if anyone else dares. Friends are often treated to gifts, usually in the form of something hand made or gestures, as she believes that such things are far more meaningful than what one can buy.
While she is a good friend, one of Faye’s biggest flaws is her ego. She firmly believes that she is absolutely brilliant, stunningly beautiful, and an incredibly powerful mage, and should these views be threatened, she becomes very irate. Her quick temper can easily override her otherwise rational and intelligent thought and have been known to get her into trouble. Oftentimes, her desire to avenge a slight is what leads her into pettiness.
Backstory
The daughter of a business mogul and a scholar of her family’s ancestral magic, Faye had a rather…interesting childhood. She grew up in the lap of luxury, the eldest child of the family and expected heir to her mother’s empire. Though her mental fortitude made her a perfect fit for the position, being a brilliant young lady, Faye lacked the social charms and graces needed to do well in business, and moreover, lacked the passion for it her mother had. Instead, young Faye found her interests and passions falling more along the lines of her father’s area of study, as well as creative pursuits such as art and writing.
Faye was not quiet about her dislike of her familial expectations, and, though she maintained a decent relationship with her mother, it was strained by her disinterest in inheriting the family empire. This came to a head when she refused to pursue a business degree in university as her mother wanted. Instead, she insisted on an arts degree, and, fortunately, was able to attend school through scholarships and working a few odd jobs. Since the age of eighteen, she has had a somewhat strained relationship with her parents and has been quite independent of them. She does maintain contact, of course, but family dinners are always a little awkward now. Unfortunately for the Dupont-Kim matriarch, she has no satisfaction of being correct because Faye is fairly successful as a writer, using pseudonyms designed to protect her identity.
Strengths
Faye is very creative and intelligent, as well as being quite talented with her magic due to studying with her father for much of her childhood, and she is fairly agile from several years of gymnastics and ballet as a young girl.
Weakness
Physically, Faye is very weak, in part due to her very slight frame. Additionally, she is quite socially inept, and tends to struggle with any socialization that does not include sarcasm. Due to her independent and adventurous nature, she also struggles to commit to anything long-term, be it relationships or allegiances to any particular groups. She is also rather hot-tempered and does not easily get along with most people.
Powers
Her powers are primarily related to manipulation of darkness and shadows
