Okay, I'm working on a witch to fill the cast out a little.
He's an epic nerd, but it's working out

Remington Fletcher

Please, for the sake of all that is good in life, just call him Remy

Age:

27

Gender:

male

Sexuality:

He’s probably too wrapped up in his own world to care, but he’s not into one particular gender over the other.

Species/Family:

Witch. (Although historically some men have been accused of being witches, they were typically called a slightly different term. Oh my gosh- It’s a witch! Let’s tie him to a rock and see if he floats!)

Appearance:

Remy smells like dirt, looks like he’s covered in dirt, and just might be made of dirt.

Okay, jokes aside, he’s always in the backyard excavating cool rocks or looking for materials to use in experiments. Between that and his various jobs he has taken on, his clothing has become covered in dirt and earthy smells. The knees of his pants and the elbows of his shirts all have grass stains covering them, and his boots are caked with mud to where the duke never let him inside the house. It’s almost like he was raised in a barn.

His skin is almost the color of honey, often smudged with dirt beyond his best efforts. It’s defined by high cheekbones and a faint scar cutting through the side of his chin. He would love to be clean-shaven, but has nicked himself so many times that a light stubble always seems to linger. Overgrown mahogany-colored hair falls messily around his face- often pushed back with his long fingers. Halfway up the bridge of his nose lay a pair of glasses. He doesn’t need them to see, but enjoys the way they look and feel. After all- smart people always have glasses, right? They constantly slip and he absentmindedly nudges them back up, although that never quite fixes the problem. Behind those thin lenses are Remy’s leaf-green eyes. They are almost always scanning his surroundings. He observes everything when walking into a room, including any exit routes and any people of note. When an idea strikes, those eyes light up so suddenly it’s impossible to miss. When he is working with magic, they seem almost alive as the trees themselves. His smile is slightly off-beat, almost one inch to the left. It’s quick and seemingly awkward, like he is still figuring out how to form facial expressions.

Words are difficult. When Remy’s passionate voice barges into a conversation, many people find him to be weird. He sounds genuine, but the phrases he chooses can sound offensive. His mannerisms hold the same slightly off feeling. He will be holding a conversation with someone about the burning points of various metals but simultaneously fidgeting by rubbing dirt out from under his nails. Or, he’ll tap his pen against the desk when his calculations are going wrong. If he has to talk to people who seem condescending or seem to understand social cues, he tends to develop a slight tremor in his hands. It’s not that he’s scared of them or anything, just that they actually seem to understand what he does not.

Personality/ Backstory Combination (Sort of):

The best way to describe Remy’s profession would be a chemist. He’s a massive nerd who’s actually become pretty good at it. Now, he’s always had an inkling that magic existed. Alchemy had the belief that the four elements related into various substances and processes that could allow things to be transformed. Remy had reached a point where he was about to make a major breakthrough when everything went terribly wrong.

In theory, it should have worked. He had the basics and the tables memorized, then a giant board full of his notes. Each equation had been checked over four times, every safety precaution had been set up, everything was even alphabetized and color-coded for goodness’ sake. It shouldn't have been a failure of science. He doesn’t make those kinds of mistakes.

The barn he had been allowed to use to perform experiments belonged to the duke. In exchange for a temporary laboratory, Remy had to allocate part of his time to finding a way to turn lead into gold. (At the time, they didn’t know it would take nuclear transmutation.) At the time, however, he was performing his own experiments creating synthetic materials to improve everyday materials. When he flicked the on switch to the bunsen burner, he didn’t know how horribly wrong things would go for the solutions.

His first idea was that one of the duke’s rivals would have found a way to mess with the experiment. The gas on its own should not have caused such a problem so it must have been one of them. Maybe someone employed the lizard people. If they existed- and they do- they would be sneaky enough to make it into the barn. In fact, some people even think the king’s advisors were lizard people. They do seem slimy enough…

But I digress. After the incident, he had to book it out of town. The duke became angered at the destruction of property and sent some of his soldiers out to look. Remy now skips from town-to-town to avoid them and takes up odd jobs to keep afloat. Due to the nature of his travels, he is used to keeping only the essentials. This is both to not burden himself and to save space for his samples. The journey itself is never too rough, if the right things are in the focus. He always has his eyes on the ground, both to make sure he doesn’t trip and to see if there’s any cool bugs. Or he’s over here with his face in the dirt trying to figure out why the drainage sucks based on the soil type and pH.

While in the towns he finds his work in, he would love to be that cool and mysterious guy sitting way in the back at the tavern. However, he’s more like that person who tries to appeal to the youth and really isn’t selling it. He will sit there watching everyone and silently listening to their problems, not to calculate some malicious plan, but to bombard them with unsolicited advice on how to fix both relationships and tarnished silver.

As one can imagine, that doesn’t roll over very well. He doesn’t understand human interactions very well. The problem with that is he tries to approach it like a set equation, but emotions are more flippant than an Hydrogen Iodide solution. Somehow, he never seems to say the right things and ends up making everyone mad at him. However, he really doesn’t need more people after his head

🙙🝁🙚

Strengths:

Elemental control. This goes in two directions: science and actual magic.

He can apparently communicate with spirits and sense emotions

He knows a lot of cool science facts! Like: the human body could produce enough graphite for a buttload of pencils, DNA is actually flame-retardant, and applying some glues known as cyanoacrylates to cotton can cause it to ignite.

Remy can cook, as that is also a chemical process and he is fascinated by reactions in the world around him, but has terrible food blindness. What is supposed to be one serving always becomes three, although I suppose that isn’t terrible with a large group. (Wait a gosh darn minute, isn’t Remy the name of that rat in the Disney movie where the rat pulls that ginger guy’s hair to make him cook?)

Weakness:

He can overuse magic and get pretty sick. This means he can’t use magic for a while, and becomes exhausted and nauseated. Sometimes, he can even pass out.

Somehow he doesn’t really understand social norms. Sure, he can tell he said something that made someone mad- he just doesn’t know why they’re mad. Easily offended much?

Other:

What if my new favorite holiday is Martin Luther King Jr. day? No school bro

Jacques Voland

╚═════ »✨« ═════╝

Full Name:

Jacques Hayes Voland

Nickname(s):

Jack - For anyone too lazy to say his name properly or in full, pfft

Gender:

Male

Age:

23

Sexuality:

Bi - Strong female lean but doesn't mind male attention

Species:

Wolf

Appearance:

Jacques is superficially far from presenting himself as an intimidating force but is dually not a young man who is easily dismissible. Comfortable at his height of 5’11, Jacques has that of a more proportional and rectangular figure to him. His shoulders are perhaps not the broadest, but they square nearly evenly with his hips, which are strictly straight versus narrowing. A man of athletic physique, Jacques does not initially look the type to be a heavy hitter, but he’s in definition peak shape. The young man’s skin tone can overall be considered a lighter beige, albeit with warm undertones. Body aside, Jacques’s face is structured to be typed as triangular, defined by a narrower forehead, well-defined jawline, and subtlety to the appearance of his wider-set cheekbones.

Shorter but full sits the lightly curled and caramel brown head of ringlets Jacques has. Tapering down to the nape of his neck and both behind and barely over his ears, they handsomely thin, though that light curl is still vastly evident. A few more wispy curls curtain his forehead, though none are long enough to brave past his eyebrows to impair his vision. No one could describe the sights of his locks as ‘poofy’, but it does reflect a voluminous shine and holds a relatively silky texture. As for eyes, Jacques’s are a rich hazel that are comprised of a delicate yet chaotic blend of browns, greens, and gold. His hazel kaleidoscopes are framed by darkset lashes that are both long and hold a soft upward curve.

Jacques’s voice is spoken with nothing short of crisp confidence despite the fact that he rarely thinks too hard about what tumbles out of his mouth. While not the deepest, the tone he projects does have a smooth masculinity. Naturally, Jacques strays into speaking a bit quicker-paced, but not so rushed that one would need to ask him a thousand times what he said. While it's a tempered sound with ranges varying on his mood and whatever is cycling through his head, he can certainly bark rather aggressively when pushed into a situation that flips him onto the defensive or for the sake of being necessarily reactive.

Wolf Appearance:

The coloration of Jacques’s wolf form is a secondary testament to his more natural hair color. It’s primarily a caramel brown base with inconsistent splotches of more rustic and deeper chocolate colors. The fur itself is both thick and wavy, not nearly as curly as his hair outside of his wolf form, but enough for it to be noticeable. It’s certainly not lacking in being thick by any margin, creating an almost more than necessary shield of insulation.

In this form, Jacques is roughly 39 inches in height at the shoulder with a considerably slender but dense build. From nose to tail tip, he’s about 80.4 inches (6.7 feet) long. Having a broader snout as well as muzzle, Jacques’s ears are considerably more rounded in definition, albeit maintaining a clear point. The only other more broadened feature of his wolf form would be the paws he stands on that could very well belong to a wolf a fraction larger than himself. Considering he’s more of a power type than a speedster, though, larger paws aren’t something he’s particularly upset about, unlike his slimmer and less defined tail in comparison to other wolves.

Personality:

Personality Type:

ESTP

Enneagram:

3w2

Description:

Energetic: A mover and a shaker, Jacques is never bored for long. He has a thousand hobbies, picking them up and only putting them down in favor of jumping to the next amid his cycle. While he’s a bit physically incapable of being a content homebody or couch potato, he can sit down for extended periods if he’s focused on something that allows him to be sedentary, but even then, he can’t help but bounce a leg or tap his fingers. Jacques isn’t exactly a young man who requires much to recharge, if his poor sleeping habits hold a testament to it, but he does find peace amid his energetic whirlwind through the things he does.

Spontaneous: Having a tendency to jump the gun, Jacques is a consistently enthusiastic and impulsive creature. He’s unbothered by rapid change or sudden events, which makes him adaptable and flexible to everything going on around him. This quality also rightfully makes Jacques a rather unpredictable young man as well considering how easily he can be carried away on a whim.

Social: Jacques may not necessarily like everyone he comes to socialize with, but he will socialize with anyone. He severely suffers from the fear of missing out, which further compels him to always act on whatever he may be invited to do or go along with things those around him are doing. All in all, he does genuinely enjoy being around people of all types, but most especially with the people closest to him is where this social butterfly really soars.

Competitive: Jacques very much commits to even the most tame of competitions fiercely. From board games to feats of athleticism, Jacques has a tendency to get rather intense and occasionally aggressive. It’s not that he’s a sore loser, he’ll walk away from a loss with a smile, especially if he knew it was something he was destined to lose, but he gives it his all. Seriously his all. Competition in any capacity makes him feel accomplished only if he fully invests his capabilities into it regardless of the outcome. So while he may not initiate something worth competing in, he is the first to commit to the opportunity.

Determined: Regardless of what Jacques may be doing or applying himself to at any given moment, he is concretely determined to stick with it. From his loyalties to his hobbies, Jacques is not one to give up on what he allows himself to invest in. He is a finisher when it comes to projects regardless of how inconvenient, tedious, or exhausting. And he is a solid friend considering the lengths he’s willing to consistently go to for anyone at any given point in time. Jacques does not grasp the concept of giving up or surrendering. It’s entirely foreign and not something he would ever put into practice unless special circumstances required him to abandon his quality of determination.

Mercurial: Energy and emotions can be an intricately blended thing, and Jacques’s emotional span is no exception to this limbo. While he doesn’t initially come off as a temperamental or mood-swing kind of guy, he is most certainly that. Jacques can easily flip from a high-energy, bombastic idealist to a wisdom-weary cynic in the span of seconds depending on circumstance and environment. He may not mean to switch moods at the drop of a hat but it is furthermore a quality that adds a layer of complexity to his already unpredictable persona.

Unorganized: Teeming with enough energy to power full cities, Jacques struggles to apply that to forming any kind of structure or organized system. His personal living quarters are testament enough to this quality - the space always looking as if a tornado has ripped through it. While Jacques can function as a part of a machine with a structured system, and honestly needs that subtle form of discipline to be kept in line, he just can’t create or stick to systems of his own.

Bold: Unafraid to voice his opinions or be himself, the lines between bold and shameless with Jacques are pretty blurred. He doesn’t usually come off as rudely or aggressively forward but he isn’t shy about anything he does. He could be considered a brave soul that isn’t typically hindered by fear regardless of whether he feels it or not. This quality also pushes him further into being a nearly unstoppable go-getter with a neverending flow of forward-moving momentum.

Impatient: If there had to be one thing Jacques could be considered as being predictable with, it would be his acute lack of patience. For everything. He gets carried away in the pursuit of instant gratification, and as frustrating as it is to get results over time, it's also not a deterrent. With people, he can unintentionally forget to consider that not everyone is running on the same level of energy that he is and more or less expect them to be.

Ruled By Heart: Not to say Jacques doesn’t use his head, but his heart usually dictates his final decisions. He wears it on his sleeve but is unafraid of it getting cut regardless of how sensitive he has the capacity to be. At his core, he is very much a lover, but as genuine and as intense as his love can be, his affinity toward consistently being on the move makes it difficult for him to sustain lasting romantic or intimate relationships. While this isn’t so applicable when it comes to Jacques as a friend, he does cycle through his social circle before coming back to someone.

Over-Achiever: High energy paired with his determination to see things through, whether Jacques specifically aims to be or not, he is very much someone who goes above and beyond in most things he takes on. The satisfaction that comes with both excelling and completing things is also a bonus boost in motivation, especially since he is not without going through phases of near burnout, but his form of medicine is to simply keep moving forward.

Attention-Seeker: Jacques would never admit it, but he more or less needs to feel validated through attention, no matter the form it has to come in. Of course, like most, he’ll pine for positive affirmations and attention, but he isn’t without being capable of less-than-desired behavior to get people to pay him mind either. He struggles with being alone, ignored, or simply overlooked. In this regard, he does have a bit of a habit of stepping on boundaries with both introverts and people in general. It's not a malicious act to any degree though, and once he’s been given parameters to follow when it comes to boundaries, he will do his best to respect them.

Confident: Even when he’s critically wrong, Jacques has a tendency to still speak and act as if he’s right. With his heart ruling over head, he tends to blur the line between opinion and fact and prioritizing feelings over reality at times. That aside, Jacques generally walks with a magnetic, charming confidence that isn’t disgustingly arrogant or flaunting a suffocating sense of superiority. He’s a young man very comfortable with himself, his likes, and his overall life - so what would there be to feel insecure about?

Possessive: It takes a special kind of thing or person to ignite Jacques’s sense of possession, which can certainly waver between healthy and overbearing. While he’s generally willing to share most things, he may get stingy and agitated when it comes to favorite foods and other varying items. If it has his name on it, it definitely means don’t touch it. When it comes to people, friends and partners alike, he tends to get both a little possessive and jealous if he feels like he isn’t receiving adequate attention. He can certainly be a little hypocritical in this way considering how wildly he bounces between people, but when he’s with someone, he does expect his presence to be appreciated and isn’t keen on sharing time he carves out to spend with someone in particular with others.

Intelligent: Despite how chaotic and all over the place Jacques is at almost every given moment, he is a smart fellow. Very smart. He just simply doesn’t always have the attention span to display the depths of his intellect or apply it without pushing himself to focus intensely. From cooking and sewing, hunting and survival skills, and several things in between, Jacques tends to be a jack-of-all-trades. Aside from tasks he can perform, the young man is also capable of being a creative and critical thinker. Definitely the kind of man who thinks well outside of the box as a default.

Strengths:

- Determined Beyond Measure

- Being A Hype Man (A Totally Underrated Strength)

- Adaptive

- Creative Thinker

Weaknesses:

- Emotional Whirlwind

- Struggles With Focus

- Can Struggle With Sharing (Things And People)

- Needs A Lot Of Attention (Puppy Energy For Real)

Other:

This kidult loves the hype of Christmas
