Appearance:
The doe’s frame is slender, the kind of thinness that comes with years and hard winters, yet there’s a wiry, half-faded strength left in her semi-muscular limbs. Her coat, once a rich, deep red, has faded, but clings to memory with stubborn streaks along her shoulders, paling out to iron-grey at her chin and throat. Badger-white fur rings her eyes and freckles her long muzzle, the pattern sharp against the darker background. Her eyes, big and cedar-dark, hold a haunted sharpness, always narrowed as if she’s weighing up the world and finding it wanting.

Personality:
Many would describe Stray with one word: bitter. She wears her age like armour; hard, weathered, and sharp-edged. Stray is quick to judge and quicker still to voice her criticisms, never one to sugarcoat a hard truth or spare a feeling. She keeps herself at a distance, fiercely independent, though fawns bring out her sweet side. Stray prefers to play the herd’s watchful babysitter, hovering and alert. She’s possessive of the newborns, claiming them in her own brisk way, even if her days of mothering her own are behind her. Blunt upon her years, Stray meets any criticism with a snappy retort or a cold shoulder, rarely letting others’ opinions affect her actions. Underneath it all, there is a stubborn care in her, reserved for the smallest and most vulnerable, even if she refuses to admit it outright.
