His speech is refined and well-put together, the way of a proper gentleman if you will ─ rarely, will you hear curses come from this man, only when he is extremely upset or annoyed by someone will such vulgar language come from his mouth. Yes, he may not curse you out but he certainly knows how to effectively put someone in their place with elegance. Skin Description An ancient pelt of a rich red chestnut Belgium Hare, the last user of this skin is unknown to the Goldmere family as it has been generations since it was last bound. The pelt is in relatively good condition considering the decay other pelts are experiencing, perhaps it is due to disuse before Harlan. Still, the pelt is kept safe within a well made leather pouch that Harlan keeps fixed to his belt at all times. Appearance Description Harlan stands at 6'4", oddly tall for a Goldmere. His skin is tawny with a cool undertone, unmarred by scars of evidence of his adventures. A single small birthmark sits on his jaw, a mottle patch of lighter coloured skin that wraps up towards his cheekbone and under his jaw where it tapers out down the side of his neck. His build is lean, bred to be lithe and strong to enable his heightened agility and powerful legs. His legs are long, toned and the most well definied part of his body. His torso is also equally elongated, drawn in taut planes of unassuming muscle. His fingers are long and elegant, like that of a piano player. Harlan's hair is a deep ash brown, almost appearing black in low lighting. Styled into a long wolf tail cut with the longest pieces reaching the small of his back. His hair is thick and textured, appearing slightly waved. His eyebrows are equally thick, plucked and manicured into a perfect arch. His eyes are sharp, as though he is always watching something that amuses him, with a slight upwards tilt to the outer corners. Big deep amber irises are settled within, bright with vigor. Hyzenthlay attempted to bind with her brother when they were 8 years old, while her brother's pelt accepted him quickly and without struggle, her chosen pelt ripped her to shreds. It left her young form broken with a variety of injuries, which would have healed perfectly well if she had been an adult, but due to her youth it has altered how she has grown. Typically they would not allow for a binding attempt so young, but with the rabbit lineage not producing any worthy of their skins, the Goldmere's are desperate. She also attempted at age 18, which resulted in the same outcome, less severe than her first attempt but certainly the most emotionally scarring. Appearance Description Hyzenthlay is as equally lithe and toned as her twin, sporting muscle that enables the lighning fast speed of her animal heritage. Her legs are long, toned and well defined with a narrow build to enable her to sprint with less resistance. She stands at 5'11", also unusually tall for a Goldmere woman, matching her brother in that area. Her skin is the same tawny hue as her twin, but she possesses a richer sun-kissed complexion due to her hours spent in the sun tending to her garden. Hair the colour of molasses, it is curly and usually bound up in some form of updo befitting of a regal woman. A few shorter strands frame her face and fall at the sides of her jaw. In the same fashion as her brother, her hair is thick and in excellent condition, with eyebrows to match. Her eyes are large and rounded, the typical rich amber colour, however the outer ring of her iris is brightened by a light rim of almost yellow. Long lashes that curl towards the outer corners enhance the sharp look Haze has. Her cheekbones are high, melting into the more rounded jawline. Her nose is proud and straight, an angle drawn down the centre of her face. The issue with Hyzenthlay's appearance comes with her posture, it is crooked. It is crooked in a way that makes you look twice and try to figure out why she looks uncanny. Her shoulders sit at slightly different heights, her mouth seems to be vaguely slanted. The only thing unmarred by her early binding attempt is her legs, which they thanks her lucky stars for as it is the most important body part. The evidence of her injuries is betrayed by marbled, thick scar lines that run down the midline of her back and branch outwards. There is a small birthmark on her jaw that is almost completely ruined by a jagged star like scar at the corner of her mandible on the left side. Her gait is refined, poised and elegant. There is a springy essence to the way Haze moves that is only interrupted by the occassional limp. She carries an air of cherry, ginger and pink pepper. Her voice is strained, whilst remaining feminine it has a coarseness to it that betrays an injury to her vocal cords. Without the crackle, her voice is lilting and inviting. Skin Description This year, Hyzenthlay has brought the pelt that called to her the strongest from their collection. A blue harlequin Rex pelt, almost perfectly split down the midline. On the left is a pure white with the occassional band of blue lilac. On the right is blue lilac fur with occasional white and darker blue mottling bands. The pelt has a shredded and decayed hindquarters, it is kept coiled and bound within a leather cylinder that can be tied to clothing or the body. Personality Raised alongside Harlan, she was the only one to truly absorb any teachings they received from their council. Whilst the Goldmere's do not have any one specific leader, she is first to rise to the task of leadership once given the opporunity. Hyzenthlay is a socialite, she will happily talk to any family and any member of any court. She does enjoy the conversations, but it is an incredibly good way of learning about the other Houses and their misfortunes that perhaps she could broker in the future to the Nightcoils. Or perhaps even use herself. Beneath her usual calm demeanor of politeness and amity, there is a ball of coiled emotion that Haze battles every moment of every day. She does not know why it is there, why it hurts and why she has been burdened with it. Reputation The Diplomat Aurelian is known for his way with words and the ease with which he nevigates mediation, as well as the almost regal disposition he carries himself with . He's known for being agreeable and never speaking his mind on any important matters. Appearance Description Aurelian has golden tanned skin, a slightly darker shade than his honey-blonde hair, which is slightly wavy and falls around his shoulders, generally left loose. He has very refined facial features, with straight eyebrows and thick, dark lashes that frame his hazel eyes, and a straight, tall nose. He tends to wear deep, warm tones, especially reds and burgundies, accented with off-white cream colours. He's not particularly tall, standing at around 5'9, and carries himself with a confident but unthreatening air. Skin Description The deer itself is a golden-tawny colour, with white spots and a dark stripe along its back, and a pale underside. The antlers are thin and branching, coming to sharp points but not overly dominating the deer's silhouette, remaining fairly small in size. (ref: Sika deer). The skin is a thick fur mantle, resting heavily across his shoulders and upper back, and secured with a bone clasp close to the collarbones. Thin, branching antlers are integrated into the mantle's structure, sitting stop the fur and curving downward and forward along the line of his shoulders, originating at the back of his neck and shoulders and reaching down towards his chest and upper arms. Personality In public spaces, Aurelian comes off as calm and composed, choosing his words carefully but without obviously trying to hide his intentions. He's insightful, particularly where it comes to inter-Family politics, and though this is somewhat evident to the other Families, they remain oblivious to the extent of it. He's skittish in the face of danger or confrontation, preferring to appease or flee, except where people he considers his responsibility are threatened, in which case he'll stand his ground for exactly long enough to ensure they are no longer endangered, at which point he'll flee. Both the skittishness and momentary courage are skin instincts that he has difficulty fully controlling. He can come off as dishonestly agreeable on occasion, often choosing to appease or mediate rather than reveal anything of himself - while this is useful politically, it impedes his ability to make genuine personal connections. Though Aurelian enjoys the large, inter-Family events, and has no issues with fulfilling his Family duties as a mediator, he does find the constant appeasement of the Predator families - for whom his respect is severely lacking - to be exhausting and unpleasant. He believes, like much of his family, that the Predators are misguided at best in their belief that dominance is the road to leadership, and thinks their leadership will end in catastrophe. In Family discussions, however, he is far more outspoken than others, trying - and failing - to convince the Family that the Whitethorns have a duty to try to prevent that tragedy and act against the Predators to protect the people they terrorise, even if doing so goes against their instincts and laws. Though he may be outspoken in private settings, he remains ever the dutiful heir and never publicly voices those opinions. While he may be kind but distant with others at events, with his Family - particularly those he doesn't argue about politics with - he is a beacon of warmth and devotion, especially for his younger sisters, over whom he feels protective. It's because of this that he works so hard to maintain his mask of serene politeness in public settings, as though distancing himself from the skin. This is also why he likes the Ball so much, as it allows him to be physically distanced from the skin and thus makes it easier to maintain the mask. The end of the mantle is slightly tattered and torn, and many of the antlers are spiderwebbed with cracks, worn smooth and blunt from decades of hands touching them. |

Appearance Description Ivory is a young woman who stands at a height of 5ft 2in. She is a bit on the shorter side, much to her dismay, and has begrudgingly learned to accept it. Her frame is lithe and fairly straight up and down with minimal curves. She would probably be considered below average in strength which shows. Her arms and legs are like sticks and could probably snap just as easily. She has a fair skin tone that is mostly unmarred and unblemished aside from one beauty mark that sits below her left eye. She has a soft heart shaped face with amber honey-gold eyes that are framed by long, light, eyelashes. Ivory has long light blonde hair that hangs in loose waves down to her waist. Her hair is very soft and she goes to great lengths to keep it well maintained. She has to brush it multiple times a day to keep it from tangling. Skin Description The pelt of a snowshoe hare Covered in a thick, soft light grayish-white fur the pelt darkens ever so slightly around the ears and nose with hints of a tawny brown. The pelt is old and not in perfect condition but still beautiful nonetheless. Personality Ivory has a quiet personality, some might even say meek. She is gentle and patient and not easily provoked or irritated. She is someone who often puts others needs before her own without a second thought. She is also studious and likes to learn. Update: I'm back! Wow, and am I happy to see so many people have taken interest in this! First off, all of the reservations that were asked about have either been filled out and accepted, or have been taken down due to the lack of a form being presented. Secondly, any new reservation requests have been put in and are being timed as of the time of this post. Meaning they will be ending in exactly 48 hours from now.
