Deteriorated Hope

There was no hope left. During the last remaining months of the second World War, an unimaginable disaster happened - one that nobody could ever anticipate. One that would take the whole world back to square one, and trust becoming a rare courtesy among survivors.

The apocalypse hit.

It came rather fast. Germany was overrun within moments - panic lingering among not only civilians, but also the soldiers. This was unholy, ungodly, really, and a sight that nobody could ever believe was coming true. This had to be a dream, a nightmare, is what most would tell themselves. That this was all in their heads. But then reality hit, and there was no going back.

When the infested humans, riddled with a dark and menacing sickness that made them unintentionally elite, started attacking every human in sight, that's when everyone decided the war was less important - now was the time to survive, and to survive as beings, not soldiers. Of course the killings of battling sides still went on regardless, but sooner or later, there was barely anyone left to kill.

Governments fells, and it wasn't just Germany that was hit. The entire world was, and nobody knew how bad an already shitty world could get. This was worse than worse. This was a living hell.

Plot

Five American soldiers are trapped in a small town in Germany when they come across five survivors. As far as they are concerned, Germany is the only place that has been hit, therefore, their current mission is to hopefully make it back to America in one piece, and bring the survivors with them to maybe prove themselves as heroes and not killing machines.

This is a very character-driven plot, therefore you should contribute to subplots, world-building ideas, different infected, locations, character ideas, etc.

Infested
The 'Infested', or even referred to as the 'Infected' are zombie-like creatures that are unbelievably fast, witty, alert, and easily disturbed. There are no current variations to them, but are easily killed if shot in the head. Stealth is normally not an option while they are in large groups. They like darker, more quiet places, but sound will attract them.

The Infested appear as normal humans, though much more animal-like if that makes sense. They foam at the mouth, their eyes are crazed, and their general appearance is slightly off compared to a healthy human. It is sometimes hard to tell which is which, but you will know once you hear them roar at you in attempt to attack you. They can jump, climb, run, and punch.

The infection is spread through bites and scratches, along with any of their salivia entering your body. It's best to avoid these guys.

Their weaknesses and strengths are to be discovered, though some have noticed that they are not as strong during the day than compared to night. This might be because they are slightly sensitive to light in a way.

Roles

Soldiers
The five American soldiers simply trying to get back home. They are genuinely determined to bring the survivors home as well that they picked up along the way, and have made their purpose clear once and for all. These five are rather close, fighting together for a long time, so much that they have formed the bond of a family. (Note: While I will allow females for this role, they will more than likely be combat medics/nurses with minimal weaponry knowledge).

Survivors
The five survivors found in the town. Prominently scared people, in which their sons, brothers, or even boyfriends/husbands left to fight in the war or to find out what was going on once the sickness hit. Some may have background in medical assistance, some knowledge on certain weapons, etc. They will not be the main fighters, though can be taught. They are the soldier's main priority and are to be protected at all costs.

NPCs
Currently, there are no NPCs, but this will be updated later on. NPCs will include future enemies for the group, relatives, significant others, offspring, etc. A small description will be given, alongside their name and age (if revealed) will be put here.

Rules

All of Eve's forum rules apply. Please review them if you need a refresher.

My biggest stickler here is that you must be literate to join. I don't mean based on your word count, but I mean how you write - your punctuation, grammar, capitalization (I may be a hypocrite, oh well), spelling mistakes, etc. However, having a higher average word count may give you a better chance at being accepted.

Speaking of being accepted, I will not be accepting everyone. This is not a first come, first serve sort of deal. Upon posting a form that is complete, do not expect me to automatically accept your post. This is because I want people in this RP who I can genuinely trust to keep the plot moving and the characters alive. That being said, no reservations.

Do not join just to be inactive. If you feel like you cannot keep up with the RP, need a break, are going on hiatus, want to drop out, please let me know instead of just ghosting everyone. We will come up with something for your character in the meantime, that way, nobody is left hanging.

Keep things realistic. Despite the setting and plot, these are still normal human beings in a time of panic and destruction, and not everything is going to be easy. Your characters are not super people and cannot comprehend everything in one go. Please be considerable with this.

Do not be OP. Your character will not dodge every move made on them, and not all of their attacks will land. That being said, if you want to harm/kill another person's character, both parties must agree to it and you must leave room for the other person to respond.

Your characters are flawed, especially during this time period. There should be no Gary/Mary Sues, characters constantly stealing the spotlight, ones with traumatic backstories that make them super depressed and blah-blah-blah. You get the gist, yeah? Just make your characters unique.

To ensure that you read all the rules, but a few fun facts about your character in the other section. It's always a blast learning things that are unknown to other characters, but are known to the person behind the screen.

Your characters should have at least three strengths and three weaknesses, though more is of course welcome.
