An RP Between Bloodhound and myself, feel free to read along, just please don't post :)
A quick rundown of this RP. The wolf world is divided into elements. Earth, Fire, Wind, and Air. Within each element, there are several packs. Two wolves are born differently, one born for life, the other born for death.

Aveen

Stock by CastleGraphics on DA
Name: Aveen
Age: 3 Years Old
Gender: Female
Appearance: Aveen is a white wolf. Her body is lean and lanky, her tail is oddly long and reaches to the bottom of her feet, and her fur is mid-length with it being much longer along the ridge of her back and much shorter on her legs and face. Aveen's ears are wide at the base of her skull and rise into sharply pointed peaks. Her eyes are as orange as a freshly sparked flame, something that is hard to look away from
Aveen has no scars on her body and honestly looks as if she could never hold her own in a fight.
Stock by CylindricalFawn on DA
Personality: Aveen is a very soft-spoken she-wolf who does her best to avoid any type of conflict. She has a heart of gold and stays loyal to those she trusts and cares about. She will speak her mind if she believes it is for the betterment of the situation.
Aveen believes that all life is sacred and deserves a chance to live. Despite this, her diet still consists of meat, but to make peace with her beliefs she will often scavenge off of carcasses, or follow prey that is older and wait for it to die off where she will then thank the animal for its life and feed herself.
Stock by Quiet-bliss on DA
Ability: Although she doesn't realize it just yet, Aveen has the ability of life. In the elemental world, no one has seen someone like her. As she comes into adulthood her abilities are starting to show, and with little to no experience, anything makes her extremely tired.
While thinking she is completely normal, she has always been able to see the spirits of past animals who have died and have yet to pass on. Her parents thought she was crazy when she mentioned it, so from then on, she kept it quiet.
Other: Aveen lives with her home pack. A group of earth wolves who live deep in the mountain range where two large peeks split years ago, their den lay within the split. It is all Aveen has ever known, the plant life is very healthy in the area bringing in lots of wildlife, and there has never been a reason for her to want anything else. Or at least she thought...

an-coo

Nickname: ''Finis''

Gender: Brute

Age: 5 y/o

Build:

mnz-7-by-castlegraphics-d9zip7i-fullview-1.jpg

He is an enormous canine, with shrunken proportions and a deadpanned face. He is rather narrow for his build though still healthily fit. He has shadowy fur, with a little bit of leaden adorning his physique. He has flaxen irises, stout paws, and a lengthy, slim snout. His voice is guttural, and throaty with a raw, benign accent. His odor is of a seared forest.

Persona:

Ankou is a reticent spirit that embodies sanity and clemency in his heart. Although, that is best not to take advantage of his sympathy because, with a pragmatic mind, he remains the murderer he was oriented to be. He is a stoic, reserved brute, and lives on the edge of reverie. He isn't prone to comply, though, despite his father's position, he has no possibility but to comply with the regulations of the empire and take whatever spur his father gives. He tends to be a rather sheltered spirit, speaks when is spoken to, and speaks when it's required. He isn't gentle, even if he tries, he fails and comes off as a scathing, brutal individual with an assertive aura and a disheartening exterior.

Territory:

A deserting area, with little to no vegetation. Their dens are unearthed deep into the sand, to where sandstone can be attained to harbor the underpasses that lay underneath the barren lands. Water is a demanding chore to locate as well as nourishment, so the empire takes the gamble to travel further into the rather stark grasslands. It is futile to survive in the deserting biome for an elemental spirit that is not fire.

Abilities:

Ankou can decide, determine and exploit the causes of demise, allowing him to choose and handle when, how, where, and why someone dies and even induce the circumstances.

His touch is not tainted, just callous and abiotic.

When the night ebbed away, Ankou seemed to be the first one stirring out of his restful slumber. In a cove reserved for him, he relished in the tranquility. Not aggravated by the bothering snores or mumbles of the canines, he had a surplus of time to cherish the quietude. Cherish the little whistles of the current draft in the roominess of his residence, tousle his fur and his mistiness out of his eye.

''That couldn't have been him, right-'' Voices like a mantle of sand fondled his audits to prickle aloft on his cranium. The canines residing in the empire were doubtful of a canine merging into their brood. Another fire element. Ankou recalled the encounter with the outsider wolf; rubicund fur, bloodstained irises, and an intense voice. There was an abundance of fire elemental spirits in this region, maybe far too many. They were like little, fiery ants bustling throughout this monotonous landscape; performing under his father's desires and demands.

Although, Ankou was not like his father desired him to be; the mere attribute that could correspond to his father was Ankou's blunt savagery. And the rest characteristics were foreign to everyone. Ankou stood out like a sore thumb. Foreign in his own motherland.

In a brisk skim, he ascended on his feet, dawdling until he reached the cove's entrance. The outside was luminous; hot and as foreseen, barren and dead. The canines were trotting amongst one another's presence, uttering and wrestling for entertainment whilst his father and the foreign lupine exchanged in a conversation, given by the immediacy they were at.

The canine seemed a resilient and prudent individual, with an outstanding spirit that his father would favor and provide awareness to. Any brute, any ferocious soul that had any bit of potency would nearly instantly seize his father's attention, besides Ankou. With a warrior-like essence, his father was still irked by how Ankou was still an impassioned satchel. Had compassion and acuity in his mind amidst crucial missions.

Slaughtering a guiltless spirit, that had not sinned, was immoral. But, his father did not know that. The fire element was emphatic, brutal, and relentless. And whilst his father thought of him as the fire wolf, Ankou wasn't. He felt nonnative and had a tremendous dissimilarity with the fire element. He had no fire in his heart, he hardly had any insight into it. It was just death, he was just touching the nothingness and dispassion of it. Exactly why he couldn't comprehend their vindictive nature and impulsive intuition. They wanted to oversee and mandate the one's beneath them, transcend the vastly diverse elements just by how decisive and unwavering in their own abilities they were.

''Your father likes him it seems,'' The delicate, soft-spoken voice that chimed in, made Ankou draw his irises away to bat at his mother's lean figure reside beside his own. ''It seems so,'' Ankou retorted in a deadpanned, baritone tone, gaze faltering and averting to the cloudless welkin. If his father apprehended Ankou's treacherous element, there wouldn't be any complications to unravel.

Aveen sat quietly among some brush, she had been there for a couple of hours already, even before the sun had even begun its voyage into the sky. A few yards ahead of her lay a large body in a small clearing. An elder bull elk. The large animal had been slowly following behind its herd for the past couple of days when it finally was unable to keep up and had collapsed where it lay now.
It somehow survived the night, but even from where Aveen lay hidden she could hear its labored breathing, a sign the poor beast's body was tired and about to give.
The sun began to peak through the leaves, sending shimmering flecks of golden light dancing upon the forest floor. The old bull's ears flickered once the warm light touched the top of his head. He raised his head slowly and Aveen watched as the creature took in the beautiful sight. Then as if on instinct the bull turned his gaze right to where Aveen lay. Thinking there was no way he had smelled her, the breeze was blowing toward her, she assumed the old creature sensed that she was there. Unsure of what she should do, she continued to lie there deciding that she should stay hidden.
A moment longer the Elk let out a low shrill cry, maybe a final goodbye? Aveen had no way of knowing. Her ears perked forward watching as the Elks head lowered to the ground, where his breathing quickened and with a sudden silence his breathing stopped and his went body limp.
Cautiously Aveen lifted her body to a stand and stepped out into the opening. The distance between her and the body of the elk was closed in moments, she paused a few feet away. The deceased creature's spirit stood next to its past body, staring down as if taking in the new knowledge that it had passed.
"Thank you for the nourishment that your old body will provide. May you find peace in your new life." Aven muttered.
The elk's spirit looked at her, its nose twitching slightly. It turned and began to bound into the treeline, disappearing into the foliage.
Watching the spirit fade, her stomach finally growled reminded her of the whole reason she was out here this morning, food. Leaning down at the limp elk she began to bite into the creature, not really to her enjoyment but she did need to eat.

Although, as Ankou endeavored to wire a decent conversation with his mother, the distinct strides of wolves made him avert his gaze. A cluster of wolves, with smeared fire crests on their foreheads, trotted their way over to Ankou and his mother, steeled and ambitious in their own poise.

''Best of luck, son-''

The velvety warble of his mother's voice, made Ankou shift to the side before the cluster of wolves gathered amidst his heartless presence; barring the scene and the silhouette of his mother's physique vanishing within the distant horizon. ''Ankou, by your father's request, you are mandated to join us for a hunt. He said you cannot decline or else there will be dire consequences,'' The commander of the squad, Mortimer stated stiffly, his gaze aligning with Ankou's. Just like before, Ankou's father loved to experiment with Ankou's capacities by adding him to miscellaneous activities, just to see disheartening outcomes every time. ''Understood,'' Ankou answered with a pop of his tongue, the gurgling snarl that was fairly vague resonated at the back of his throat before Mortimer withdrew.

The cluster began treading onward, craniums tilted aloft and figures bristling with perseverance whilst Ankou's seemed wrongly positioned. He didn't fit into any status his father would propose to him. Although, voicing his thoughts was practically purposeless when the canines in the empire were all so, brusque and thoughtless over the ones that were futile or were too puny to be the proper elemental divinities. So Ankou's best conclusion was to maintain his chomps clenched and his heart confined with longing, that one day he would snag an opportunity to prove them all wrong.

''Be wary of the earth spirits. They're prone to be out in the open at this time, so if anything. Flee or disguise in the shadows,'' Mortimer mustered midst their trot, his voice stagnant and laced with serenity. Ankou despised their choice of biome, and the absence of nourishment caused them to emigrate their hunting grounds to open heathlands, which meant, swarming the earth's spirit habitat and plundering their mother nature's mammals. ''We can start a war by doing this. We're bandits and expect to live in harmony by theft,'' Ankou murmured, enough to receive a hostile look from Mortimer, the one that said ''enough said'' but it was genuine. Flourishing in concord was all Ankou desired. Even with how mortal he was, he wanted to preserve the ties between the elements as strongly as feasible. No rivals, just acquaintances or companions.

Licking her chops Aveen scanned the area around her. Even though a life had just passed moments ago, the forest was still busy with smaller creatures scurrying about. A squirrel chattered as it climbed a tree, a line of ants marched behind one another toward their anthill right beside Aveen, and several songbirds flew from one tree to the next.
Life always carries on. Pulling herself into a stand, Aveen knew she needed to get back home, but the meat in front of her was not to be wasted. Her pack would make use of every part of the animal. Lifting her slender white head she released a low loose howl, it carried a few miles and would allow her pack to locate the body of the animal and bring it back.
Wasting no time Aveen bounded into the thicket of the tree line and easily found a game trail that would lead her most of the way home. Trails were necessary the further creatures traveled into the forest, the thicker it got.
Many earth elemental packs lived in the mountain ranges, where they could easily hone in on their abilities, and the different types of terrain gave them plenty of experience. Aveen, however, was useless when it came to the manipulation of rocks and dirt, she had never been like her littermates or her packmates. While they all had the skills in which the earth bent to their needs, they had seen Aveen as a dud and she knew this, it was no secret.
Not that anyone would come right out and say it, but Aveen would hear the mutters, she understood the looks they gave her. She was welcomed and loved within her pack, but she was an outcast where the elements were concerned.
Continuing to stealthily maneuver through the trees she could see the twin peaks looming over her as she got closer to where her pack called home.
The peaks at one point had been whole. The single peak was called Tanka after one of the great spirits that Aveens pack followed. When the peak split open, it is said a lightning strike had come from the heavens and hit the very top of the peak causing the great divide. But that's just a story Aveen's mother told her.
Aveen slowed her pace as she entered the opening around the base of the twin peaks, taking in the view of her pack bustling about. The earth here was well trampled from years of several paws constantly on the move. Generations of earth wolves had lived here before her, a long life of powerful eath wolves as well. Each generation came and passed all leading down to her parents, and now to her and her sister.
Skillfully Aveen moved through all the bustling packmates, intent on finding her sister, Paloma, who due to being firstborn, was the next in line to lead. Their parents were not so old, but now was the time when Paloma would begin her lessons for leadership. That way when the time finally came for Aveens parents to step down, Paloma would not just be thrown into chaos, but rather she would already be well versed in the affairs of the pack. All over a much smoother transition of power.
But before any of that, today would be celebrated for Paloma's sake. Aveen and Paloma would head out with other coming-of-age Earth wolves on a 'Trail to Adulthood'. During that, the young change the path and terrain of the mountain as a way of making their mark. Following that is a feast and pairings among many other things.

''As a firstborn—''
The query came like a cascading downpour out of the throat of the canine that trotted alongside his right. Just feeding into the silence, Ankou appreciated momentarily. Nonetheless, the query itself, Ankou did not favor so much, even if the query had just begun. The uncertainty that cooked amongst the little cluster of wolves seemed tangible enough. And with a tilt of his cranium, Ankou lidded his irises, torching his callous gaze into the lupine beside him. There was no consideration, no regard, or contemplation. It was just endless harassment that tended to swerve into brutality. ''You seem powerless to be in reign, how's your father keeping you in his land!'' The laughter wrecked the air, overstretching ahead. It tinged in his lobes like a ribboning roar of a siren, rending his tranquility into fragments.

Although, as the suspense rose in vast spans, the thundering stampede of hooves rattled them all to descend to their abdomens, from the spontaneous ambush. When the herd of white-tailed deer pranced their way through the heathland in extravagant frolics, Ankou bode still, though had his irises roosted on a specific doe with a scar streaking her backside. Whilst their odors were propelled back into the woodland behind them by the rambling current, Ankou independently repositioned from them. Thoughtless of their whispering hollers, he had his stare meandering elsewhere as he slunk further to where the herd cavorted, which was still perceptible from his place. They abode in the heathland, though far from the cluster of hunters, grazing and observing the panorama in brisk flicks of their cranium.

''Ankou!''
The distancing exclamation of Mortimer rumbled over Ankou's cranium whilst he tiptoed onward, oblivious of the consequences that would come thereon of not listening to the head hunter. Ankou was here for a rationale—accompany the hunters and aid their hunt. And that's what Ankou was doing so, assisting. But assisting in his own technique. And his technique required thinking than striking, just calculated and cautious strides that would get him in the nearness that he would be competent to use his capabilities. But the most significant faction was the indistinct approach, all he needed was to not frighten the herd and cause a catastrophe to flare and perhaps, worsen the circumstance for his own self but for Mortimer and his teammates too.

Victorious in the improvement, Ankou maintained his profile downward and discreet, silent and imperceptible like the death itself, paddling across the heathland in nimble prowls, his golden-threaded irises flashed through the mere voids of the swishing verdure blades, seething into the doe he was latched on from the start.

And when he was in tight closeness, his irises elucidated with a flickering flame, pupils honing into slits as his breaths became periodic. ''Letum,'' The resonating whisper of his voice, stirred like a breeze to the doe that seemed to stiffen before its muscles rippled and its physique descended.

Aveen loped up a small incline toward the base of the twin peaks, there the pack's alphas from generation after generation had called their home. A large group of boulders formed a generous-sized den that past leaders had made, a few shrubs and some grass grew around it and among the rocks that formed the den. Upon a closer look, despite the hard outer appearance, the inside was spacious and cozy, the pathway inside was beaten down and soft, several hundred repetitive steps made the path that way.
The ground inside was assorted with dead grass and animal fur, providing comfy bedding to her, her sister, and her parents.
"Paloma?" Aveen's voice was soft and gentle, her eyes searching for her sister in the layout of the den. Not able to find her, Aveen backed out turning to look behind her.
Suddenly a large bulky body landed on Aveen, crushing her to the sandy floor. The air was knocked out of Aveen as you tried to crane her neck to get a good look at whoever was on top of her, fangs bore out of fear mostly.
"You really need to be more aware of your surroundings, Aveen." Paloma beamed down at her. Paloma was the larger sister of the two. Her body is broader with muscle with short stiff fur that was several shades of tan, cream, and white. Although Aveen was taller than her sister by a few inches, she never once thought to even challenge her for the role of Leader. It wasn't in her nature nor did she really even want the responsibility.
"Maybe you shouldn't be attacking your family." Aveen coughed out as Paloma let her sit up, she smiled at her sister and stood shaking her coat free of any dirt. "I was hoping to make it back in time to walk down with you to the gathering."
Paloma chuckled, "Oh yeah, that would be nice. Mother already gave me a pep talk, something about not straying from the path. But I wasn't paying attention if I'm being honest." She paused as the sounds of the pack began to grow, an indication they were to start back down the incline, "Also, I know you originally said you wanted to hang in the back, but I really want you beside me. We are sisters, you don't belong in the back."
Aveens heart twitched, it was sweet of her sister. Paloma had the gift all others in the pack have, manipulating the earth was a big deal to them, Aveen had planned to stay near the back so as to not get in the way but she nodded. She would do as her sister wished, it was a big day for them.
Together they trotted down the incline, a few other young wolves joined the sisters as they made their way toward the center of the gathered pack. Yips and barks erupted, several of the wolves began pacing around in a large circle as the celebration began. The ground trembled like a low hum that buzzed in Aveens paws, it was the power of the pack as they worked together. The consistent hum of the earth turned into thumps and soon a rhythm was created
Thump-thump
Thump-thump
Thump-thump
They had created a likeness to a heartbeat. Strongest at the source of the pack, but Aveen knew that it would travel the ground for a few miles, losing intensity over distance. But it felt nice and soothing to her slight anxiety of not being able to truly contribute like everyone else. She already knew the path Paloma would be choosing to take so Aveen readied herself to keep up with the group and stay beside her sister as they would be soon on their way.
