3rd Person Tobey sat on the edge of the ice watching the sun rise after he woke up. His sword lay next to him while his legs dangled off the edge. It was peaceful since most of the dragons in the colony hadn't woken up yet. The only action he saw were the larger dragons going out to get breakfast, much like his own dragon, King. After living in a home made of ice for 7 years, he grew a dangerous tolerance to the cold. He couldn't get frostbite anymore and he would last 5 times as long as any human would before he got sick or froze to death. He sat spaced out, memories running through his mind. Tobey Memories of my tribe flashed back into my mind. Specifically the ones of the day I was kicked out. I was only 15, and it was all because I befriended a dragon and everyone was scared of me. the moments before were peaceful, I had taken King with me to go get water at the pond that normally no one else was at. That day there just happened to be a few kids who wandered too far from the village. They ran screaming back to the tribe and told them a dragon was about to attack me. It was foolish of me to keep him around after they left. I said all the wrong things and they told me I was possessed by the devil and I was fooling with his creations. I don't even know what my parent's reactions were, they were back at home when I was banished. I could only imagine their horrified faces when they heard what happened, they probably think I'm dead. It doesn't matter anymore, after I flew off on King's back I explored. I traveled, mapping out every bit of land I came across. I keep one made of paper always on me and I carved one into a blank sheet of ice in the space I call a room inside the Ice. Despite the entire place being made of ice, it is really warm, the ice insulates the place, and plants can grow since the sun shines through it in thin areas. This allowed me to create a farm and eat more than fish. despite what you may think I don't sleep on the floor either, I hand-made myself a bed frame. I'm silently thanking my mother for teaching me how to sew, I was able to make bedding myself. I had a large collection of blankets and rugs I made myself, they were my version of trophies that I had killed. Most were bears and large boars, there were a couple of wild cow pelts but I stopped making them. Despite what one may think my life is easy, once I got everything put together and set up at least. I hadn't seen another human other than the trader that comes every 5 days in 7 years, coming close to 8. speaking of the trader I should probably recall King then go put a shirt on to meet him in at the far islands. I got lucky seeing him there one night, it happened to be one of his layovers between tribes. I see him more often than others and get the best stuff before others as well because of this. He doesn't mind it either since I normally provide the harder-to-get stuff since I live with a wide range of dragons. I normally snatch up all the metal scraps, weapons, and herbs that I can't grow because they have certain living conditions. 3rd Person Tobey got up from the edge and recalled King as he walked back inside. He threw on a shirt and his armor before grabbing his extra pelts, some dragon scales, and "dragon pelts". He made fake dragon pelts that the trader loved, they were a high-demand item since no one had ever seen them since you needed to kill a dragon to get them. In reality, all he did was sew scales to different animals felt that were shredded and he couldn't turn into an animal pelt. One thing the trader warned him about was that there were some other dragon riders out there that might come for him thinking he killed a real dragon to get the pelts. He walked out to King and threw everything in his bags then used his handles to pull himself onto King. He sat in a sideways fashion letting King take off then stood up while he flew to the island. When he got there the trader was just quickly laying things out for him and letting the things he grabbed most stand out. Tobey "Hello trader," I greeted "Ah, dragon rider, I have prepared your usual things and I think you will find everything to your liking," he said presenting his boat to me. "Don't say I ever got your name and you never got mine," He said following me onto the boat and glancing at the family crest on my shoulder. "I don't recognize your crest either, and I know a lot of people," "You're asking a lot of questions trader, but if you must know I came from a farming family that provides for itself and hated traders," I said with a laugh "I was banished from my tribe at a young age so they all probably think I'm dead. How I would love to see their faces if they found out I was alive," I said with another hearty laugh as I dug through and grabbed the things I wanted. "Maybe if you told me your name I could deliver the news to them myself and tell them how you are doing, once I return I can tell you their reactions," he said occasionally showing me things I would normally find an interest in. I laughed "You know me too well when it comes to showing me things. But my name is Tobey Hemmingson, I came from the Dwight caste tribe." I said glancing at his dragon items assortment. "I see you have some eggs may I take a look?" I asked "Of course, you are probably one of the few that can even afford them," he said with a laugh and I glanced over at them. I spotted the egg of a rare species of the dragon I had yet to see myself. "What would you take for this egg," I said holding it up "How about 2 of your dragon pelts," He said "Make it 4, this egg is rarer than you think," I said handing the pelts and what I owed to him. I carefully put the egg into King's bag after letting him smell it. I returned to the ship to dig for things that weren't needed and more caught my eye than anything "What is up with this you are looking for more than you normally get?" He asked "I happen to have collected a lot of resources that I have no reason to keep," I said "Is there anything with a high price that someone has yet to buy?" I asked and a large smile appeared on his face. "yes actually, but I keep it in my sleeping quarters so stay here," he said leaving and coming back with something in a large bag. He handed it to me and inside there was the skull dragon skull decorated with jewelry that was embedded in the bone and perfectly preserved feathered wings. "I will take it," I said "In return, how about some of King's adult teeth that have fallen out and replaced along with a full-sized dragon pelt made of King's scales," I said "Deal," he said without hesitation and waited for me to bring back the pelt and teeth. I handed him the teeth "I don't know what species of dragon King is to me it is unidentified, so if anyone knows let me know. The only thing I can even come close to is the Larbynx, but even his teeth show he isn't one and his tail is completely different." I said going and getting the pelt after he put down the teeth. "I'm warning you this is very heavy, where would you like me to set it?" I asked "Put right outside my sleeping quarters on this sheet, that way I can drag it in and wrap it up for safekeeping," I nodded and did so. He handed me the bag and I got on King. "Do you want to hop on your boat and throw me a rope so I can drag you off the shore and help you set course?" I asked "That would be great," he said hopping on his boat and throwing me the rope up letting king catch it once we were in the air. "You are one of the most friendly but also terrifying Vikings I have come across in all my years of trading," He said "I mean that as a good thing," I pulled his boat off the shore "goodbye trader, safe travels," I said "goodbye Tobey," he said with a wave and hoisted his sails. 3rd Person Tobey went back home and ended up mounting the skull and wings on the wall above his bed. He took the egg to the mother dragons, he knew of a female that was broody and a good mother but old and couldn't produce eggs. "Take good care of this old girl," he said petting her nose and laying it next to her for her to put under her. He was excited to see the egg hatch but he knew it would be a while since it hadn't been incubated. |

3rd person Kate sat on the handmade saddle she had just made for her dragon, Blue. "Comfortable, dont you think?" Kate said patting Blue who both the saddle and she was on. Blue huffed as if to say, lets try it out with a flight. Kate laughed, knowing what he wanted. "Your in luck bud because we have a mission that requires flying." With that Blue flew into the air, his huge Blue and white wings flapping. Kate I groaned as i sat up on some sand. My head hurt like a dragon had hit it with its fire, or a dragon had roared right into my ear. Just then it i remembered Blue. I quickly got to my feet but fell back down again, dizzy. I moaned again as i put my hand on my head. When i put my hand back down i saw blood. Shock ran through my body. What had happened? I remember i was flying on Blue when a storm hit. I kept flying and....Thats all i remember.... When i tryed to get up again, slower this time, i noticed my left arm also hurt. I managed to get to my feet though before looking around, hoping Blue was okay. Luckily he was a couple of feet away from me so i slowly walked to his side. I bent down by his head and whispered in his ear, "Hey bud. Are you okay? Wake up, alright?" With that Blue huffed but didnt move. I sighed before sitting down beside Blue and cooing to him, hoping he wasnt hurt. 3rd person Kate sat beside Blue, cooing to him as she watched the waves wash up and down the shore. Luckily Kate was far enough from the water that she didn't get wet but Blue's tail did. "Please don't be hurt, Blue. Please stay strong." Kate cooed, petting Blue's cheek, all the while her head and arm throbbed with pain. Kate knew she needed to stop her head from bleeding but she couldnt leave Blue defenseless and all alone. |

3rd Person After setting everything up and updating his map made of ice engraved into his wall Tobey went out for a flight with King. A couple of dragons followed along the way but ended up splitting off eventually. The flight was a simple and peaceful one mainly flying above the clouds and headed for areas they hadn’t mapped out yet. Tobey still wore his armor, he recalled what the trader said and didn’t want to risk running into another rider. Tobey lay on King's back as he soared through the sky, his large wingspan allowing him to glide. King hummed causing his back to vibrate and making Tobey sit up. He saw a storm that had already passed in the distance, and he was glad it must have barely just missed them. “What is it bud, do you see something?” He asked standing up and using his foot to hold onto the saddle grips. King changed course and flew towards a more hidden island that was already mapped. “What do you smell something?” Tobey asked. They never really came this way since more aggressive wild dragons were frequently on the island. Tobey I ducked down hiding on King’s back until I saw something bright blue on the beach. I urged King to get closer and land on the beach, it seemed to be another dragon but I couldn’t tell what was laying against it. I carefully hopped off King with my sword in hand and realized the dragon wore a saddle. I held my sword at ready and slowly stalked around the dragon, the other thing must be a human. I finally went around the head of the dragon and saw a girl laying up against the dragon. Both of them were badly injured and all of their wounds except a few looked like they were from the storm, the rest must have been from impact. They both looked drowsy, and there was a lot of blood on the ground so my only assumption was they were about to pass out from blood loss. I was about to walk back to King and leave them to die until I paused, if I didn’t save them their deaths would be blamed on me. I clicked my tongue in frustration and walked over to the girl, picking her up bridal style. King ducked down so it was easier to get on his back, I motioned for him to pick up the other dragon since it wouldn’t be an issue for him. The flight back was a long one since we had dead weight, King dropped me off at the entrance to my room and took the dragon to an area close by for me to heal it. I carried her in and set her on my bed, as she was still very much passed out. I didn’t want to remove her clothes so I just wrapped bandages on top of her clothes. I left one of my warmer pelts next to her for once she woke up, I didn’t remove my armor and went to go take care of her dragon who was also passed out from blood loss. |

3rd person Kate had countinued to coo to Blue until she heard a loud dragon roar. A Repulser, Kate thought nervously as she grabbed her sword which was in Blue's saddle bag. Kate dizzily faced the dragon who was now right infront of her with its sharp teeth. She could feel that she was going to pass out soon and she knew she wasnt in fighting condition but she knew she had to protect Blue so she bravely stood in between Blue and the wild dragon. Kate managed to scare it off by yelling with all her might but immediately fell to the ground as it flew off. Just then Kate heard the sound of a dragon landing on the beach. She tryed to get up and grab her sword but ended up just passing out. Kate I felt someone wrapping something on my wounds but i couldnt open my eyes just yet. I was unconsious yet consious. I ended up passing out again due to the pain but soon woke up again, able to open my eyes. I slowly sat up and took in my surroundings. I was in a room that seemed to be made of ice, sitting on a bed. There was a decorated dragon skull on the wall as well as what seemed to be a map. I couldnt help but laugh, "This is just a dream. You need to wake up Kaolin and make sure Blue is okay. Just wake up already..." It was pretty cold in this dream and i saw a pelt of some kind beside me, inviting me to take it. I relucktantly wrapped myself in it and countinued to blankly stare at the wall. "...You dont have pain in dreams.....But this has to be a dream. Maybe its just a unique dream." I mummbled to myself, still not knowing what to do or think besides sit here and wait for something to happen. |

Tobey After removing the dragon’s saddle and fixing its wounds I left to return to my room. My dragon-scale boots echoed on the rock floor, my mind was filled with different things. I decided to write them down once I returned to my room, but I was so focused that I didn’t realize she was awake. I walked past her while taking off my helmet then stood at my desk, looking for my book. I raised my head and realized it was still in King’s saddlebag “KING,” I yelled and the dragon managed to poke a bit of his head into the room. “No back up I need to get to my bags,” I said pushing his head out of the doorway, earning a grunt from him and a blow of smoke. “Oh you will get over it,” I said closing the bag and going back to the table. I unfolded my map and laid it off to the side as I glanced at it and wrote a list of things that needed to be done. I glanced up at the ice wall taking a step back, my mind still racing to try to see if I’m forgetting anything. I looked up at King who once again had his head in the doorway, I pointed at a black spot a little off the center of the map. “Why don’t you like going here bud? Is there another dragon there that doesn’t listen to alphas?” I asked and he just grunted at me again “Why am I not surprised you are pouting now,” I said throwing my arms up and turning back around. Whatever species King has had a habit of not listening to alphas but still living in peace with them, they only fought other species that didn’t listen to alphas. I ran my hands through my hair with a heavy sigh and leaned on the table with both hands, looking over the mess I made. |

Kate I froze as i heard footsteps coming closer to the room thingy i was in. I knew i was still in no condition to fight so i quickly but gently layed down on the bed like i had been, praying whatever it was that was coming closer didnt notice i was awake. Then a thought flashed through my mind, Why would it save me only to hurt me when i woke up? I pondered what to do as the footsteps came closer. Before i could do anything a man came into the room and walked right past me. I was glad he didnt notice i was awake as he stood at his desk. Just then he yelled, "KING" making my head burn with pain. . I held in a gasped as i saw a huge dragon peek its head in through the doorway. I couldnt take my eyes off it as the man walked away. I knew i should probably keep an eye on both of them but i couldnt help but stare at the dragon. Just then i heard the man sigh and i looked over at him. He seemed upset at the mess he made. Just then i heard Blue's paniced roar, no doubt scared of his new surrioundings. Without thinking i quickly sat up but my head began to throb again, making me dizzy. I tryed to get up but fell back onto my bed. Great, I thought anoyyed, good way to show that im weak right now. |

Tobey I watched her fall then turned around to put my helmet on and went and picked her up bridal style again. King moved out of the doorway and I ran through the narrow tunnels that allowed me to move around faster than a dragon. When we got to her dragon the guardian dragons were preventing the dragon from going anywhere. I squeezed between them with her in my arms and set her on the ground near the dragon but not too close so I could back up behind the guardians by the time it reached her. King appeared behind me and urged me to get on his back, I had to swing myself onto his back since he didn’t bend down for me. Once I got stood up he raised himself to his full height, it must have been an intimidation display. |

Kate I was shocked as the man picked me up bridal style and ran me through the narrow tunnels. I was so shocked i just let him carry me. I wasnt sure what he was doing but i hoped he was taking me to Blue. When he got closer to Blue i saw dragons surrounding him, making sure he didnt go anywhere. I was so relieved when he put me down and i saw Blue run to me. When he got to me he nuzzled me before helping me stand up. I was touched that even though he was scared he made sure to help me. After he got me to my feet he pushed me under his wing and roared as loudly as he could at the dragons and the man. . His roar again hurt my head so i put my hand on his side. He immediately became quiet and looked at me, curious. Still a bit scared myself i wispered to him. "Calm down boy, everythings alright...." I then patted his side and he nuzzled me again. I almost fell down but he caught me with his tail. Then he scooped me up with his tail and put me on his back. My head throbbed with the sudden movement and i almost fell off but he caught me with his wing. Thats when i saw the bandages on him. I gently layed down to wisper to him again, "Take an easy, you need to rest." Thoughts rushed through my mind as i sat myself back up and stared at the dragons around me. Thats when i noticed the black dragon who was now trying to intimidate us. It seemed to work for Blue, who lowered his head. |
