Fabian squeezed her hand when her head dipped to rest against his shoulder. That's also when he realized he was still holding her hand. With them so close, he hadn't noticed the little contact they had. She must be getting tired by now, he was starting to feel the long track around borders in the snow. Who knew how long she had really been following him. A long time could have meant anything. He listened as Samara described Louisiana. Giving a small chuckle at the mention of gators. It was another accent part that he really did enjoy. He had personally never been to the United States on his own free will and never to Louisiana. He hadn't gone that far south, mostly in popular states like California and New York. The war was mostly on Canadian lands, or at least that's where he was stationed to fight. "Sounds nice. Maybe I'll visit one day in the future," He looked down studying their hands for a moment. After a moment of silence he glanced back up,"You should get some rest. I don't know what tomorrow is going to bring."

Samara smiled as she felt him squeeze her hand. It was a nice little touch. Her body ached from having trudged around in the snow. She had followed him for hours, and she had made a journey of at least two miles before that by herself through the snow. She was more than ready to go on to sleep.
Another smile crossed her lips as he said something about possibly visiting in the future. "Well, if you do, just make sure you come see me," she said jokingly. Of course, she'd probably be over joyed if he actually came to Louisiana and sought her out.
Sleep. She definitely needed it. "You're right.. Just make sure you get some rest too. As much as I'd love to go climb into one of the beds back there, I imagine I'd freeze by myself, so I'll probably end up just falling asleep in here." Samara would opt just to take a couch, but the owners seemed to only have recliners and cushioned chairs, which wouldn't make for decent sleep at all.

Sorry it deleted my response before I sent.)) "Oh yeah, I'll have to visit you for sure I'll make sure to sneak into your house and fall on my butt on my way in," Fabian teased with a smirk. He had figured that's what happened earlier with the loud bang. That's what the signs pointed to anyway,"I'll need somebody to show me how to hunt an alligator." "I'll rest later, I want to stay up just a little longer and listen to the wind," He told her with a small smile. He wasn't as tired as her, it was a long journey but one he was used to. He had been well prepared for it so he was fine. She was beginning to look exhausted though. He gave her hand another squeeze before letting go. "Go ahead and get some rest. You can use me as a human blanket or pillow if you want. I'd personally rather sleep by the fire place than in a rocking chair," He studied her face a moment before turning his gaze away and to the fire. The fire was almost out at this point which meant that it was probably going to be a cold night.

It's quite alright^^ I hate when that happens)) Samara giggled at how he said he'd come into her house and he'd need someone to teach him to hunt alligators, "Well you'd be sneaking into the right place." She smiled before giving a small yawn and rubbing her eyes. She was very tired at this point and if she didn't go to sleep, she'd end up falling asleep anyways. "Just make sure you do actually get some rest. I doubt tomorrow will be easy.." Samara nodded as he told her to rest and that she could use him as a human blanket and pillow if needed. She wasn't sure how he'd be any more of blanket to her, but she knew the only way they'd get any closer would be by actually cuddling or spooning, which didn't sound bad in it's self giving the circumstances. "Just get me up if you need to change positions or anything," she said with a nod and a smile. Samara laid against him gently, deciding it would be best to stay in his warmth either way, especially with the fire getting low. She sighed softly, closed her eyes, and relaxed her body. It wouldn't be long at all before sleep completely took her over.

He was interested in exploring the States...but only way after the war. He wished that Canadians and Americans would just be friends again. He was tired of war and more importantly tired of all this fighting. They were both people, why couldn't they just get along? He moved to lay down, choosing to lay on his stomach and rested his head on his hands. He was worried about tomorrow, that's for sure. He knew they would probably have to dig themselves out of the cabin and it would be a long trek back. He was also worried about what both of their bases would do having not heard from either of them. "Just get me up if you need to change positions or anything." He arched an eyebrow at the statement To be honest, he was used to her inappropriate comments and took that as another one He felt her body press into his and gave a small smile. Once she was comfortable, he fixed the blanket so it was covering both of them. "Goodnight, Samara We'll figure out everything tomorrow," Fabian whispered in the American soldier's ear before resting his head on his hands and studying the fire. He was a bit too anxious to sleep. He was worried about the storm. Edited at November 18, 2022 08:29 PM by Ashes of Night

Samara hadn't ever been one to not cuddle. She had mainly just been nervous that she would be closer than he'd prefer. A small smile crept across her face as he whispered in her ear. She wasn't sure why, she just liked the way it felt to have him do so. "Good night Fabian.. Rest well," she said softly before finally quieting down and getting ready to sleep.
It didn't take long at all before Samara was sound asleep though her head was full of dreams. Typically she never dreamed, but it was likely because of her stress and exhaustion.
The fire was ever dwindling, causing a terrible chill to start entering the cabin once more. The storm was still far from over and it hadn't seemed to improve yet. If Samara hadn't been as tired as she was, she'd probably wake up every time a branch broke or when the wind grew louder. However, at the rate things were going, the cold would would wake her before anything else ever did.
(this was kinda crappy- I'm sorry )

it's a great post.)) "Good night, Fabian. Rest well." His smile couldn't help but grow at her words. It was odd how a simple statement could get his heart racing or those butterflies in his stomach. Her laying so close to him didn't help the issue either, although at this point he had given up trying to push them and their closeness away. Fabian was awake most of the night but he did eventually drift off into a light sleep. However, the wind didn't stop and the storm just got worse. He was used to storms but not the noises they made in cabins. Not when he was stressing over everything else. So he kept on waking up at every noise. It got to the point that each time he would wake up, he would grunt and bury his head into Samara's shoulder. He wasn't sure how she was able to sleep through all of it. However, at about dawn, he was able to settle down and finally sleep for good. He began snoring lightly as the sun raised into the sky. His position had went from on his back to on his side with his head buried into Samara's shoulder. He slept soundly, unaware of the cold room or the sunrise. Surprisingly, Samara didn't wake up until morning time. She had slept heavily and felt much better than she had the day before. The fire had turned to just barely embers but it did sound like the storm was mainly over. As she came to, Samara realized how peacefully asleep Fabian was. She didn't want to mess it up since she was unsure how well he had slept. Samara turned slightly and snuggled up to Fabian. She smiled at how his head was buried into her shoulder. She'd given up on fighting their closeness. It was too cold and it was honestly hard to fight it anyways. She sighed softly and ran her fingers through his hair gently.
Today was going to be a long and likely rough day since they'd have to dig their way out and from there Samara would have to make the decision on if she wanted to risk slipping away from him or just allowing him to take her back to his base. She didn't really know any kind of information, not to mention, if she couldn't get any of her things back she could end up stranded and/or in the hands of someone who would shoot first and ask questions later. It was just all things that she had to think about.

Fabian started to stir at the feeling of movement beside him. He didn't exactly want to wake up, he just moved a little and kept his eyes shut. Then warmth pressed against him and he pressed his body against the source of the warmth. He buried his head deeper into his pillow, or what felt like a pillow. It was just as warm as whatever was pressed against him though. He would take the warmth, he felt almost frozen with how cold he was. He sighed at the feeling of fingers brushing his hair. The touch felt soft and he welcomed it. He had never felt anything so comforting before. Nobody had ever touched him, much less his hair. He sighed deeply, knowing that it was time to get up but he didn't want to open his eyes. Not yet. This felt like he was in heaven.

Samara smiled as he buried in closer to her, which she didn't mind. She could feel how cold he was and she imagined he had been coming closer for her warmth. She hadn't meant to make him stir, but they both would have to get go before too long anyways. She continued to lightly play in his hair and giggled quietly as he sighed once more, though deeper this time.
"I know it's lovely..." she whispered softly, "I don't want to move either." Samara was as unsure on whether or not he was truly awake, but he was at least responding to touch. The closeness between them was comforting and honestly felt completely natural. The two them may had been laying together for warmth, but it was at least enjoyable.
Samara sighed softly and leaned a bit closer into him before tilting her head back. She took a glance at the fire, which had gone completely out at some point within the last few minutes. It was quite cold in the cabin, making her dread having to get up as well as leave. She was sure it would be much colder outside, even with the sun.
