Amazing actually, I really enjoy how you're continuing the plot ^^ If you need me to change anything either don't worry about letting me know// - Atticus yawned, feeling the areas around his jaws crackle as he stretched his arms up and over his head, enjoying the relief of being able to relax his muscles. Standing was a lot easier than clinging to a wall for your life. After scrubbing as much as he could from his jacket, he scrounged up as much dry fire fuel as he could, letting it roar into a bonfire. Letting his now much heavier jacket hang back onto the boulder facing the fire, Atticus looked around. Could he bring anything? There was nothing to really bring, unless there was a way to weaponize moss. "Charlie? Are you taking anything with you?" Atticus called out. He was met with silence and the same eerie whistle of wind. "...Charlie?" Tone switching to a cautious confusion, Atticus looked around. - He'd give her a moment in case he was encroaching on her privacy. Minutes passed. How many was far from his knowledge in the darkness of the seemingly unending cavern Atticus now sat alone in. Did she get dragged away? Eaten? This couldn't happen so soon. He still needed to bring her back. Where would he bring her back? Atticus stopped in his searching. His original plan was brutal. A fiery burn at the stake as a sacrifice for his father's passing, a much outdated tradition. It was... inhuman. He couldn't just do that, but he needed to do something. An Assassin wouldn't just walk into his clan's base and confess at his feet. Atticus knew right then and there that something will never have anything to do with Charlie. He couldn't dare hurt her, and a vengeful mind gets nothing done but start more wars. There could never be a war to end all wars. Frowning to himself, Atticus decided that this wasn't the time to be thinking that. He needed to find where Charlie went. - Picking his way through the cave, the jaw-like stalactites seemed to be closing in closer and closer to his frame. At times he was even jabbed in the shoulder. Atticus grit his teeth, forcing himself almost horizontally through a gap only to land in a tighter, enclosed area. 'Fuck. I couldn't go back if I tried, it's almost like it's barbed from this end.' Cursing internally, Atticus looked around in near desperation. There was no light, no voices, not even wind anymore. A deafening silence. Sweat beaded on his temple as the heat rose in the small space due to his own panic. It was too late to supress it. - Maybe ten more minutes had passed, and the humidity was umberable. Hacking away at what looked like a looser side of the wall with every limb he had, even his axe, the wall finally gave with a heavy stomp at the base. Clawing his way through, Atticus shaded his eyes at the burst of light meeting his body. Chatter filled the vast sky before him, but not of people, gigantic winged creatures. Growls, roars, or what sounded like friendly shouts meshed with the drum of thousands of wingbeats. So many of them, an impossible amount. It almost brought a smile to his face. Looking around, he found Charlie sitting by a wall-like smooth rock slate pile. The ground below was mostly stone, but there was greenery like grass, moss, and even a few flowers dancing in the breeze generated by the sheer size of the dragons. Jogging over, Atticus lay close but still a few feet apart. - "This is.. this is amazing. They're beautiful, even prettier than the birds we see." Atticus smiled at her, a warm grin accompanied by warmth in his sage-like eyes. Observing the beasts almost everywhere around them, he thought for a moment. "Hey.. just a warning, if we decide to go into there like children, they may get the wrong idea. Who knows, these could be the only dragons on the entire Earth. If any bonds form, a common way is for the animal to attack their chosen partner to test their strength. I'm not trying to ruin any of this, but please be careful. I swear I won't hurt them unless they make a move first." Atticus looked over at Charlie, not even sure if his words were registering with how awestruck she looked. - - Oh my god this was longer than I thought lmao, don't feel pressured to make it as long! Ok thank you lol i started reading and was like ".. uuum??" Charlie looked over and saw Atticus beside her, she jumped a little "Atticus, you scared me" Charlie said as she put a hand over her heart she giggled a little, Charlie nodded at his words. She suddenly got a strange feeling and she turned to look at the dragons, she saw a beautiful dragon. It was like all the other dragons were gone and this one dragon was the only dragon there. The black and white dragon in front of her, she was in awe. The dragon was fly to her and landed a few meters away. Charlie gasped and stood up, she slowly walked to the dragon, her hand reaching out for the beautiful creature. Charlie didn’t dare to speak. She touched the dragon and the dragon flinched then sniffed Charlies hand and began to rub its head on her hand "hi pretty thing" Charlie said in a soft tone. Everything seemed so different. Charlie looked back at Atticus with a full smile, she turned back to her dragon. "you're a mix, between light furry and night furry" Charlie said, shes read books and saw drawings of dragons from when her father talked to her about them. She remembered one capturing her eye and it was the light/night furry dragon. - "I'll name you Ezra" Charlie said to the now named dragon, Ezra purred and head butted Charlie softly, Charlie laughed and petted Ezra, she was excited, but also scared as to what her tribe would do. Charlie drew back from Ezra and Ezra walked forward, Charlie chuckled, this was her dragon, her Ezra. Charlie looked around her, she still couldn’t believe that they were real, that she was going to have her own dragon. Charlie walked back to Atticus, Ezra following her slowly unsure of Atticus. Ezra laid down behind Charlie watching Atticus. Charlie looked back and smiled sweetly, she laughed, all her fears and worries gone. Charlie looked at Atticus her hazel eyes lit up with excitement. - "Atticus, this is so amazing" Charlie said so happily she didn’t think anything could ruin this. Charlie went to Ezra and sat by her. Charlie still had a smile on her face, her smile wasn’t going to fade. Charlie watched Atticus, seeing if he would get a dragon. Charlie got up and so did Ezra, Ezra flew off to go to her fellow dragons. Charlie went to sit down by Atticus and watched all the dragons. She felt calm and relaxed. She was grateful that she went on her own, she was grateful she met Atticus, if she hadn't then maybe this wouldn’t be possible. Charlie was still in awe, she thought of so many things all at once, her brain going 100 miles per hour. She was excited to see what dragon Atticus would get. |

Atticus smiled back at Charlie. He was at a complete loss for words, there were just so many colours and so many teeth whizzing by all at once. He gazed over in an almost child-like wonder as the gigantic being approached Charlie, allowing her to almost pet it. "The name you chose is amazing." He grinned back at her, his excitement bubbling up to match her own. But then, a twisting worry built up in his throat. What if he would be rejected, and it was his own clan that drove the dragons away? Charlie grew up on positive tales, while his negative, and it didn't take a genius to put two and two together. "I think I'm going to wait and see if one chooses me, first." Getting up on legs wobbly with adrenaline, Atticus picked his way over the moss-covered boulders until he was on the edge of the cliff, barely inches away from being clipped by the wings of the dragons flying around hurriedly. If possible, a few maybe even stopped to look at him, before snorting and continuing on with whatever a dragon could possibly be doing. - Atticus tied his hair back once more, tightly this time, before instead locking eyes with the passing dragons. None of them had a reaction farther than a hiss or just increasing in pace. Rubbing his hands together to prepare them for the friction, he waited until his heart and mind felt a tug, and leaped off the cliff into the unknown waters below. - Instead of smacking into the frigid tide, he landed on the back of a lithe, western looking dragon. Clutching the mane of spikes that flowed from it's neck, Atticus held on for dear life with a shout. That turned out to be a very, very bad idea. Once the dragon below him was made aware of his existence, it let out a roar that cause his brain to seemingly vibrate from the sheer volume. Hugging his legs to it's side, Atticus pressed himself against it's shoulders out of sheer terror. This was a horrible idea, but he knew that this was his dragon no matter what happened to him in the end. It's almost spastic roars and whipping of limbs was like riding a buffalo when he was young, except very spiky and could shoot out columns of dark blue flame hot enough to make his eyes water. "Hey! I'm not going to hurt you or anything!" Atticus yelled, having absolutely no idea what to do in this situation. Gripping the long, curving horns of the dragon, he grappled with it like a crazed man would with a buck, wrestling the dragon to the cliff a few meters from Charlie and her dragon. Digging his heels slightly into the sides of the dragon, Atticus tugged the head as close to him as possible, making it arch his neck until he could look it in it's slit-shaped pupil. "Adelais." Atticus shouted at him. As though a switch was flipped at the eye contact, the flailing and roars stopped as the dragon's pupil dilated to a rounder, more tame look. - "Oh my god." Was the only thing that could come out of his mouth as he slid down the side of the dragon's scales, watching him tuck in his wings and frown at Atticus. Looking down at his hands, they were shaking, still pumped with adrenaline as he could hear his own blood rushing through his body. |

Charlie nodded at atticus a small frown appeared on her face. She watch atticus once he got up and jump charlie screamed out "Atticus!!' Charlie's heart was pumping, she was just about to jump after him but then she saw atticus on the back of a dragon, she was about to call ezra, the panic about to come out but then she saw the dragon ease out as atticus yelled out a name. Charlie's heat stopped racing and she huffed a and over her heart. She never thought she'd be willing to jump off a cliff for a guy she barely knows. Charlie watched atticus and cheered him on. She called ezra and got onto her. Ezra took off and followed the dragon that atticus was on just in case. Ezra flew up, her wings beating hard, charlie hooting and hollering happily. She saw atticus and went down to land beside him. Charlie slid down ezra, then went to atticus. Charlie punched his arm kind of angrily "you stupid man! You scared the living hell out of me! You could've died!' charlie kind of yelled out at him she was still shocked that he would jump off the cliff "you cant just jump off like that, what if that dragon wasn’t there, what if you didn’t get on a dragon" charlie said shaking her head. She sighed then realized what she said and covered her mouth, her face flushed with embarrassment "I-I'm sorry.. I-I" charlie swirled around and went to ezra, she went onto Ezra's back and took off going into the sea of dragons to hide some where to clear her head, or just anywhere. Charlie couldn’t believe what she said, this man some how scared her to death and she cared for him. Charlie shook her head, ezra landed on stone. Charlie looked to see where she was. She could see atticus but she didn’t know if he could see her. Ezra laid down and charlie laid with her, charlie pulled her knees to her chest and put her head on her knees, her face feeling hot with blush, charlie had no idea what was going through her head, one she had no right to yell at him, she was just a stranger to him ad two, she actually cared if he died. |

Atticus looked up in shock as Charlie ran over, suddenly screaming. His mind was blurred as he failed to fully process what was happening, but it finally sunk into his brain at a firm punch to the shoulder. "Hey, I didn't-" He was cut off at a barrage of insults, looking down at her in shock as he hesitantly lifted her arms to try to calm her down, put his hands on her shoulders, anything to get her to stop talking for a moment. He recoiled as she covered her mouth, warmth spreading over her face. "I didn't.. you know, get hurt I'm still here?" By the time his words scraped their way from his throat, Charlie was gone. His gaze followed her and the monochrome dragon she rode into the turmoil of wings and limbs, getting lost in the crowd. Sighing, he turned around and looked at the annoyed dragon slouching behind him. He stared back at Atticus, the flow from black, to dark cyan, to light turquoise and finally a pale yellow striking underbelly met him. "You know, you look really cool. I don't know why I'm talking to a fat lizard who can bite my head off, but I trust in you to protect us. I'll help you, in return, by making sure you guys never get hunted again." Atticus spoke his thoughts to the beast several feet taller than him, stroking the sharp, icicle-shaped frills fanning from his cheekbones all the way to his neck. Adelais snorted, flaring the mane of spikes with a loud rattling sound. - Atticus jumped back, giving the dragon a look of almost annoyance, before hesitantly climbing back on as he would a horse. If the horse was several tons of muscle and scales on par with steel. And like, ten horses stacked onto each other. "..I'm going to get on you now. And stay on you." Atticus almost hissed. The dragon below obliged, seemingly regretfully. Before he could properly settle, Adelais took off with a whoosh stronger than any winds he had faced as of now. Yelping from the lack of communication, Atticus scrambled to grab his sharp mane, squishing his form onto the giant dragon's body. It really was like riding a horse, Atticus realized, letting his hips raise and fall in tune with the dragon as he steered him with his hips and light tugs of the spikes. Atticus smiled, the wind whistling past his face drowning out even his thoughts. There wasn't really anything to think. You're riding a thought to be extinct animal for endless generations, and it was your ally. |

(charlie has a dream and {} these lets you know what shes dreaming about )) - Charlie was still in shock, but a few minutes have past and she curled up against ezra, letting sleep take her in. her dreams coming in {charlie was with atticus, both soring in the sky, laughing and joking around, they finally reach Atticus's home and his people are spooked by the dragons but their attention turns towards charlie, they get their weapons and get ready for battle, they don’t hurt the dragons but they hurt charlie instead, they throw their spears, and any sharp object they have at charlie, charlie tries to defend herself "atticus! Help!" charlie screams out, atticus turns with a smirk on his face and helps his clan} charlie wakes up in a cold sweat, her heart racing, wanting to escape her chest, charlie huffs and puffs trying to calm herself down. Charlie puts her hand on ezra then ezra starts to grumble. Charlie gets up and looks to see that the dragons are sleeping and atticus is no where to be seen, charlie shrugs it off know she will find him later. Charlie lays back down against ezra 'it's just a dream right? He wouldn’t really do that? Will he?, no he wouldn’t im positive he wouldn’t' charlie thought, she stayed awake thinking of what to do. What will she do, she can easily go home with ezra by her side, but what about the tribe? She didn’t want anyone to hurt these amazing creatures. What would atticus do? His tribe had negative things to say about dragons, would he fight for the dragons or will he betray the dragons and kill them? Charlie had no clue what to do or think she finally settled down and fell asleep again, Ezra's warmth keeping her warm from the wind. - - ((sorry its not much)) |

Atticus had been soaring around for what seemed like hours, endlessly taking in his own dragon and each and every one of the other dragons. It was beautiful, and he wondered how they all managed to survive in one spot for so long, and alone. Was this really the last colony? He pondered about it for a moment. Steering Adelais to the side in a pocket in the wall, Atticus stumbled off, his legs feeling weird after having to sit on the solid scales for so long. Crumbling into a resting position, he sighed, slowly stretching out his limbs in the space he had as he calmed down from the day. So much had happened, it must've been at the earliest midnight. Looking at his hands, raw and slightly bloody palms stared back at him. He must have reopened the climbing wounds after holding onto Adelais's horns for so long. Looking up at his dragon, who was already fast asleep, Atticus couldn't help but grin ever so slightly, the fatigue finally soaking into his body. Before falling asleep, his last thoughts consisting of what Charlie was so enraged about, if this was some big hallucination due to what he ate off the mountain, and his jacket back in the cave. - ((Same here lol, I'm going to be heading to bed! Charlie woke up, her eyes adjusting. Ezra was gone and charlie was in the pocket hole that ezra brought her to. Charlie looked for ezra but couldn’t find her. Charlie called for ezra but she didn’t come. 'she probably went out to get food, I'm sure shes ok' charlie thought, charlie looked down and there were dragons flying and there were places where she could hold on to, to get down, she was very high up, 'just like climbing the mountain, but going down' charlie was looking down still her foot slipped and she fell, charlie screamed out, her life flashing before her eyes. Charlie thought of so many things, her tears falling free from her eyes. She closed her eyes, knowing there was nothing she could do, "oof!" charlie yelped out, ezra had caught her, charlie felt relieved, she hugged ezra tightly and ezra did a growl purr. Ezra landed where she met charlie, charlie slid off of ezra. Ezra nudged charlie in a angrily manner, ezra was upset, charlie stubbled and turned around to look at ezra "I'm sorry, my foot just slipped. I didn’t mean to fall." charlie said looking at ezra in the eyes, charlie started petting ezra. Ezra huffed out, then leaped off to fly with her friends. Charlie sat down thinking of atticus and where he was. 'I'm sure he's ok… he doesn’t need me to look out for him' charlie thought sighing, she thought of what happened the day before, charlie shook her head not wanting to think of that at this moment, charlie sat crisscross and watched the beautiful tornado of colors, wings, and bodies fly around. She was still in awe about the whole finding the dragons. Charlie laid back and relaxed, letting her heart calm down, she's had a lot of accidents lately. Charlie looked at her hand. It seems fine now. She flopped her hand on her stomach and dozed off a little, she probably shouldn’t in case a dragon thought she was breakfast but she didn’t care. It would actually be a dream come true if she was to get eaten by a dragon, charlie laughed a little at the thought. |

Atticus yawned, slowly gaining consciousness. The sun shone down into the vast cave, the floating island in the midst of turmoiling dragons covered in foliage glowing emerald in dawn's grasp. Groaning, his hands pulled at the neck of Adelais who had decided that on his torso was the best headrest in this forsaken place. Worming out from under the dragon, his actions had awoken him. Snorting, Adelais stood up with a rumble, stretching out his talons in a cat-like pose before staring down at the man. "What are we going to do with you." Mumbling, he ran his hands over where he usually sat on Adelais, climbing up using his hip bone. The area seemed to be wearing down, which was good. Or bad, but to him it was a relief. "I'd like to have a conversation with our blacksmith to make a saddle for something the likes of you." Smiling under his breath, the stress returned to Atticus's temples as he remembered he needed to find a way to get back. Discussing this with Charlie would likely be better than running off, unless she already had. Gliding down, Atticus gripped the mane of spikes flowing from the cheeks and neck of his dragon in a desperate attempt to stop the dramatic hold of desperation. Maybe she should've waited for one of Charlie's dragon's species, they seemed a lot less pointy and attitude filled. Landing near the exit Charlie came from, Atticus looked up at the sky. Now, the real issue here is finding out how to fly outside; no human would take too kindly to a chieftain and a chieftain's daughter presenting legendary farm-flaying lizards to dozens of families. Atticus regarded dragons with both admiration and caution, but there was no way he could just march into either clan. One he would immediately have his head taken in, and the other he might as well be banished from. Sliding off Adelais, he sat against the dragon's side. His heartbeat was booming, louder than any drum he had heard in all his years of living. This was a far from favourable situation he managed to get himself into. Atticus couldn't help but feel jealousy for Charlie. Her clan was in favour of dragon's, and her father would be overjoyed, right? Perhaps he could stay here, live as a mere rumour until the last of his days. Or he could earn redemption, and teach the young generations about dragons, and where they lay in peace and tranquility with no desire to bite unless you bite first. Sighing, he ran his hands over the grass beside him. |

Charlie woke up with ezra nudging her gently. Charlie put her hand on Ezra's snout, using it to get up. Charlie got onto Ezra then rubbed her eyes. Ezra flew up, charlie looked around looking for atticus. 'maybe atticus left, I wouldn’t blame him' charlie thought, then charlie saw atticus, she smile gently. Ezra flew up to gaining speed, Ezra's wings flapping hard, the noise they were making barely even heard. Charlie petted Ezra's neck, ezra landed in front of Atticus's dragon. Charlie slid off ezra, a gust of wind started to blow, Charlie's hair flowing behind her like a red flag. Charlie ignored the wind as she was use to it. Charlie patted ezra and turned around to see all the other dragons playing, sleeping, flying. The colors mixing into each other. Charlie felt free, she didn’t want to leave, not now, not ever for once in her life her father was out of her head. Charlie looked up at where the sun was shining into the cave, charlie inhaled, taking a deep breath. She exhaled feeling so relaxed so happy. "so, are you still planning on taking me prisoner" charlie joked laughing to herself, she turned to look at atticus, her hazel eyes shining with happiness, charlie didn’t know if he was still planning to take her, but whatever his plan was she would go with it, unless he turned his back on her. The past few days spending time with him actually hasn’t been as bad as she thought, she grew fond of him. She wasn’t ready to leave atticus, or this place yet, but whatever happens charlie is ready. Charlie scanned over atticus, seeing why she was gaining attraction for him. 'he wouldn’t hurt me' she thought, sure of herself. 'I trust him' when charlie thought that, she wasn’t surpeised with herself, her walls began to crumble, slowly letting him in. charlie had faith, it wasnt gonna keep her safe or alive but it was something. charlie turned back around to watch the dragons, charlie looked down to see how far they were up. charlie looked back up and sighed, a feeling going through her body, relaxed? no, happiness? yes but it wasnt that, she was confused as to what she was feeling but it was a positive emotion. |
