Shadow dipped his head before returning to his own den. Looking to the forest, he slowly went to sleep.

By dawn Hail set out to find Shadow she sniffed the snow and followed his sent to a near by cave she looked inside to see Shadow still sleeping

Shadow heard the birds call and a scuffle outside his den, and he opened his eyes to find Hail outside his den. Blinking, he yawned stretching before greeting her, "Hi Hail. You ready for hunting?"

Hail smiled "you bet" she said resonantly her owner had taken off her collar so she was happy it was finally gone "lets go" she said trotting into the woods.

Shadow trotted after her before smelling rabbit. "Get down," he whispered before going into stalk form. "I am going to circle around and drive them to you." He told her before circling around. As soon as he was upwind, he let out a yip and pounced on one killing it instantly. The other three ran right where Hail was hiding.

Hail watched the rabbits come tords her she jumped out pouncing on one of them killing it with a quick bite she walked back to Shadow wagong her tail

Shadow picked up his prey before laying down next to Hail. "Good job! That was great. Now we have breakfast." He settled down before digging into his rabbit. "I noticed that you don't have your collar. Did you lose it or did your owner take it off?"

Hail set her rabbit down and ate it "my owner took it off" she said then fnshed up the rabbit and thrown the bones away

Shadow finished his rabbit before getting up, stretching. "The race is soon, let's stay at a sprint until we get to the town." He loped into the woods before going into a slow sprint. If he went faster, he knew he might lose her. He weaved through the trees, occasionally scaring a bird into the forest.

Hail followed him in a slow sprint right behind him if she lost him Hail would follow his scent once they had made it to town "well see you in a little bit" said Hail then walked to the race starter line and waited for it to start
