Rowan scooped Nakia up into a whirling hug, and swung the girl around, "No, you cannot explode from excitement. Alvaro is jesting with you, Nakia." Rowan tossed a smile over to Alvaro as she settled Nakia back down on the ground, and planted her hands firmly on her hips, "We better get going, though - we don't want to waste any daylight." - im so sorry i have no inspo for this rp but i am TRYING!!!

Nakia giggled as her mother squng her about, though she did release a relieved sigh once informed that Alvaro had been lying. When she turned to glare at the faerie, he began to cough, though the coughing was obviously fake and he was poorly hiding the smile on his lips. At the mention of getting going, Nakia hopped and did a full 180 to look at her mother again. "Yes, we must be going, no time to waste. Hurry up Alvaro, you big lazy faerie, we have places to be!" Nakia couldn't help but giggle, and Alvaro gave her a gentle smile. "Yes, I do agree, let's get to it then." Nakia was practically shaking with excitement, she got to ride a horse. Neo seemed pretty happy too, though his excitement was much more contained.

Rowan helped Hyll and Neo get settled onto their horses, and briefly went over how to ride, and showed them what to do. Once she gave the children a lesson, though, she looked sternly at the horses, "Now you behave, alright? No spooking, no running off. You will be safe, and if there is anything alarming tell me okay?" Both horses chuffed, and flicked their ears, which seemed to satisfy Rowan. Rowan turned to Alvaro once the basket of food was secured on the back of her own horse - Frost, "After I get on, mind lifting Nakia up to sit in front of me?"

Alvaro watched as Neo faithfully listened to his mum, he'd ridden a horse before, once or twice, but it had always been under his father's watchful gaze. It was definitely different now though, because this was his ma, and he trusted her with his life, and he knew she'd never do anything to put him in danger. Relief coated Alvaro's features as he watched Neo relax, the boy didn't seem as tense now that he was actually on the horse. Neo was a timid boy, more easily frightened than his two siblings. Although it could be blamed on his mortality amongst long lived creatures, Alvaro believed it was caused by his previous trauma. Even though they never really spoke of it, Neo had watched his parents be brutally murdered, much in the way Nakia had. The difference was that Nakia was younger, and had been able to adjust easier as she had already been familiar to the supernatural realm. Neo had been tossed into this life with no warning, and that had left him much more traumatized. Rowan's soothing (well at least to his own ears) voice pulled Alvaro out of his head, and he blinked slowly, as if woken from a deep slumber. "O-oh yea, of course." Alvaro gave Rowan a smile as Nakia bounded about, tumbling about in the grass, her eyes wild with excitement. "Get on over here Nakia, or we might just leave you behind." Alvaro chuckled softly and winked at Nakia as she walked over, sticking her tongue out at him. Once Rowan had hopped up and adjusted as needed, Alvaro scooped up Nakia, pulling a giggle from her mouth. When she laughed, which was often, her sharp little fangs were on full display, a reminder of how deadly she was even now. Alvaro pushed her up in front of Rowan with surprising ease, not straining at all despite his thin frame. His hand gently brushed against Rowan's as he pulled his arms back down, and the places where his skin touched hers turned warm with heat. Alvaro hurriedly looked away, his arms dropping to his sides. He backed up a little, and allowed his wings to unfurl and reveal themselves. All faerie clothes had holes specifically made for wings, in fact, some of the first clothes they'd ever gave Rowan were backless, as they hadn't had any clothes that were for humans. Since Alvaro was, indeed, a faerie (mostly), his own shirt had perfectly tailored holes in the back for his translucent, orange tinged wings. They weren't small and dainty by any means, though they were very fragile, they were still relatively large, and shaped like leaves. They glittered softly in the sun, and the release Alvaro felt when he was finally able to let them loose made a wide smile cover his face. When he finally turned back around to face Rowan, a bold smile tugged at his lips. "Let's get going then!"

Rowan made sure Nakia was comfortable while Alvaro mounted up and got situated, and quietly talked to the young girl about what it took to ride horses. She handed the reins to Nakia as well, although she made sure that it was understood not to tug too much on them. Frost chuffed as he flicked an ear back towards them, "Rowan. I swear. You are lucky that I like you." Rowan chuckled lightly, and patted the horses behind, "Alright," she said, talking to both Alvaro and Frost, "Let's head off." Frost took the lead, with Rowan telling Nakia which way to point the horse so that they could get to their destination.

Nakia was surprisingly light handed, she knew that pulling too much could make the horse uncomfortable, and she knew that she wouldn't like it if someone started tugging on her mouth. Instead, she was rather gentle, and listened to her mama speak with a concentrated face. Neo watched as Alvaro hopped onto his own horse and gently patted the horse's neck. Neo hadn't realized that Alvaro could ride, since faeries relied on their wings so much to get from place to place, Neo hadn't thought that Alvaro would really know how to ride. Surprisingly enough, Alvaro seemed rather comfortable up on the horse's back, and looked a lot more relaxed than Neo had thought he'd be.

Hyll held the reins in her hands delicately, like they were fragile sprouts, "Um. Hi, horsie. I kinda know how to do this, but can we please remain very calm?" Since Hyll was indeed part plant, and of the Earth, she could communicate with many animals - for example, the horse she was riding. "Of course, Little Miss," the horse chuffed in a soft voice, "Do not worry. I can follow behind Rowan, and you can just focus on balancing while you are getting used to it all. Does that sound good?" Hyll nodded her head, "Thank you, umm..." "Charli," the horse supplied. "Yes, thank you Charli," Hyll patted the horse's neck, and felt a bit more prepared when they started moving now that she knew Charli would just follow Rowan.

Neo was officially feeling left out on the whole, magical conversation with animals front. He knew for a fact that Alvaro could speak to most, if not all, animals, Nakia seemed to understand any animal from their 'scent' and body language. Hyll was speaking to her horse as she sat on his back, an then of course there was his mother, who was quite possibly the most interesting one out of the trio who could speak to animals. His mother wasn't any sort of nature spirit, she just had a talent for horses or something like that. Neo looked down at his own horse, and spoke in low tones that only the animal could hear. "Okay so I know that if I were you, I'd be pretty upset to be stuck with the only incompetent person here, but I swear I'm gonna be the nicest rider ever okay? I just won't be as... flexible as everyone else." The horse he was riding huffed softly but made no noise that Neo could really understand, so he could only hope that the animal had understood his message. Nakia, although focused on being gentle, couldn't help her inhuman hearing, and forced back the giggles threatening to escape her mouth. Her brother was so silly, he was great, but just so... human. Not that that was a bad thing, he just over thought so many things, and worried so much.

The group set out with Rowan in the lead, although she regularly checked on the other three to make sure they were good. She let Nakia keep ahold of the reins as long as she wanted to as she talked them through the finer points of riding. She was, Rowan realized with a surprise, acting a lot like her own mother. Rowan had memories of Gwendolyn doing just the same with her and her other siblings - teaching them how to ride, with Aldwin right beside her. Rowan could remember the fond look Aldwin would always give Gwendolyn: like she had hung the moon, or accomplished world peace. Like she was his everything. And she'd look the same way back. As Rowan looked back at Alvaro, she was also surprised to find that she recognized the look on his face - it was the same one on Aldwin's... and Rowan wouldn't be surprised if she had on the same look as Gwendolyn.

Alvaro had been talking to Neo when he felt someone's eyes on him. He quickly turned and met Rowan's eyes, without even thinking about it, he gave her a broad smile trying to express how happy he was to be here with his family, before returning his gaze to Neo. Alvaro was telling Neo a story, and did so with animated expressions and excited hand gestures. The boy split his attention between Alvaro and his horse, smiling and laughing the whole while. He couldn't help it, Alvaro's story telling skills were absolutely amazing, and Neo could feel himself getting sucked into the story with a wide grin.
