No worries!// - Atticus sighed, running his warm hands through his hair and rubbing between his eyes to relieve the stress tension built up from the day, the week, the last couple years, and at this point everything. The snow had slowed to falling softly, muting the sounds of outside. Everything was silent aside from the soft crackling of the fire. - It had only just occured to him he didn't even know this woman's name. Was she of high ranking, after all? Or just some random civilian? He'd have to ask later, perhaps in the morning. He looked over at the wineskin filled with clean water, and decided to leave it for when she'd wake up. In his daze, he snapped his head back up at the soft clink of a rock hitting the wall behind him, skimming his cheek ever so slightly. Atticus opened his mouth, prepared to ask in annoyance why she did it, but then closed his mouth. It wouldn't do any good to start a fight this late, after doing it all day. Atticus sighed, seeing her close her eyes in an attempt to sleep. - Stomping the fire out but letting the embers glow to keep some warmth and charcoal, he relaxed himself enough to fall against a rock that hid him just barely from her view. The dark and quiet wasn't comfortable, after all, he was used to the almost constant quiet hum of people; whether it be children stirring and asking for leftovers or night owls in general. An empty stomach didn't help this situation, either. Atticus decided enough whining was enough, and allowed himself to sink into a well needed slumber. (edited some spelling lmao, apologies) |

The early morning sun shined just perfectly to enter the cave waking charlie up, charlie stirs then falls over from her sitting position "ah!" she yelled out, her head hitting the floor of the cave. "great way to wake up" she grumbled. charlie was not a morning person. she got up and found atticus. she went to the caves entrance and looked out, the snow, shining like little crystals. charlie put her hair up in a pony tail so it looks cleaner than it really is. charlie howled out the calls her father tought her when she was young. she waited for a responce but there wasnt any. she sighed. she wanted her father here with her. she doesnt have any friends back home because her father is intimidating so no one wants to be on the wrong side of her father. she looked back at atticus "lucky ass" she said out loud not knowing she did until it was too late. charlie shook her head not worrying about it. she wanted to kick atticus awake so they could get going, daylight being wasted but she was too nice for that. charlie kneeled down my atticus and shook him gently trying to wake him up "atti-" she cut herself off and just shook the man still gently but a little harder. she knewshe wouldnt be able to hurt him but she was still careful not knowing how he wakes up. charlie looked at his face more closely and reconized him but she couldnt remember from where. |

Atticus was drifting in and out of consciousness by the time dawn came around, not used to being able to sleep this long. He could feel the warmth of the sun casting a warm glow over his skin, making his natural tanned tone warmer. A sharp remark had caused him to sir, "Lucky ass." It took everything in the man to not smile, but he kept his composure, deciding to play sleep in case he was attacked or poisoned, in assumption he was still in a deep slumber. Atticus jolted up, suddenly, the first shake not fully registering when she tried to make him up. His hand went to his ear, making sure the carved fang still dangled ever so slightly below the lobe. Looking up, he saw her auburn hair first, tied up. His muscles ached and creaked in protest after sleeping upright in the same pose for so long, and he groaned at the sudden movement causing them to tense up. Atticus blinked the pain away to stare up at the slightly visible sun through the winter clouds. "It's almost.. Noon?" He was a bit disappointed. "I'm sorry, it wasn't appropriate for me to sleep in this much. I have clean water over there, if you haven't seen it already." Atticus looked over at the wineskin propped up against a pile of stones, before glancing over at the fire. There was a slim chance he could get it started again. The man heaved himself up to his feet, rolling his shoulders and putting on the dried jacket, combing any crunchiness out of the wolf fur shawl with his fingers. Looking over at her, he frowned ever so slightly. "I never managed to get your name, if we've reached that point yet. I feel awfully rude not addressing you." Atticus admitted, hoping it would help him identify her if she was of higher status after all, like he had assumed. |

charlie jumped up to her feet. she walked away from him to where the fresh water was and took a sip. "its fine that you slept in" she said softly. she watched him comb out his wolf fur shawl and was surpised when he asked what her name was. "its charlie" she says. she gave his water container and picked up a rock and started tossing it and catching it. she was getting hungry but there was barely anything out in this cold season. maybe once they started travelling they would find some food. charlie was ok going hungry for a few days if needed, shes done it before for her training. charlie threw the rock behind her not caring on what it was going to hit. she took her wolf skin boots off that her father gave her and set them down beside her. she rolled up her sleeze up reealing her clan mark. charlie rubbed where a bruise was from where she fell. she put the sleeve back in place and rolled her shoulder. "if not now then tomorrow we should get going" charlie said while looking out the cave, watching for any life out in the plain but nothing just snow. |

Atticus watched her movements carefully, wondering if she'd be willing to give up her name. When he heard it, he tilted his head in thought. "Charlie. I haven't met someone with that name yet." He murmured, before getting up. "Atticus, to make it even." He offered a slight smile, before turning around to pick up any scattered belongings, watching as she tossed a rock behind her and landing beside the old fire. Holding the wineskin, he wondered if he should store the charcoal or keep it for water. Going with the latter, Atticus yawned, looking over at the silent stretching plane. The forest wasn't even in sight. "Now. We'll have better chance in the mountains above us, anything bigger than a fox wouldn't dare be out in the open." He considered their options. Rabbit dens, deer if they were lucky, or maybe even carnivores if possible. The pickings were a little too slim, with the water bodies frozen over and no way to get into them. "As much as I hate to say, I have no clue where we are." Atticus mumbled, scraping a rock against the sharp part of the axe blade. It was no combat weapon, in all honesty just a lot sharper than ones used to cut wood, but he'd have to make do. "Do you have anything on you that could help in hunting or survival, Charlie?" Atticus looked over at her as he walked up to the entrance of the gaping cave, small patches of grass just barely poking out where it had thawed from last night's fire. He wondered if there were wild horses nearby, a small herd had gotten out a couple years before. That could definitely help. Adjusting his jacket so it fully covered his front, Atticus stepped out a few meters to survey their surroundings. Everything was the same, besides up, which looked like a horrific climb to get to a small meadow before even more climbing. The peak was easily days away, maybe even longer than a week. |

charlie stretched "no nothing, i was looking for my people who mightve still been alive that i could help, i wasnt planning on meetting you or being in this situation" charlie say kind of harshly. charlie walked out of the cave and looked around to see if she recognized anything that could get her back to her father. she didnt recognize anything. she tried doing another call to see if anyone would respond but nothing. still. charlie grew mad, filling with anger. she was starting to huff and puff she lashed out and punched a near by rock. she looked at her hand and moved her fingers making sure nothing was broken. she glanced at atticus wanting nothing to do with him. he was the enemy, he started the war, he was the reason she was in this. {sorry for short responce im doin multiple things right now} |

all good! I'll be heading off to sleep after this reply though, goodnight! - Atticus grunted at her reply, getting up. As much as he didn't like being with her and in her proximity, he knew that she could be useful and help with gathering food and building shelter. As unethical as it was, he knew that he couldn't let her leave until they at least saw other signs of human life. Hoping his boots were dry enough by now, he pulled himself up the start of the mountain and the edge of the foothills. His goal for now was any form of meadow, clearing, or open ground where passing herds of deer stopped to eat. After the storm, the chance of finding anything period was dangerously slim. Atticus slowly made his way, the delay in not knowing if the snow below him would slide out and knock him down. That would be.. embarrassing, to say the least. His breath came out in ragged clouds in front of his face as he began the ascend as agile as possible, gloved hands digging through the snow mounds to find hand holds when he needed to use every limb. Atticus secured the axe to the dark leather belt around his waist, looking behind him to see if Charlie would be following or running off again. Honestly, he just hoped she was close, but didn't need to always be attached by the hip. Atticus looked up at the piercing sun, nothing but a small speck hidden by the winter sky's clouds. The wind was definitely picking up, and all he could hope for was that it wouldn't be as bad as yesterday. |

Charlie was behind atticus, giving him space but still close. charlie knew how to climb up moutians it was in her training, but mountains with snow? she wasnt so sure, "just like mountains without snow, its fine, everything is good" she said talking to herself, charlie was climbing her nervous calming down. she could see the sun behind the snow clouds. hopefully its not going to storm as they ascend the mountain. charlie made sure to be close and when she was falling behind she used every muscle in her body to move faster to catch up, charlie didnt think atticus would let her fall, but then again he's the enemy sooo.. probably. charlies gloved hands found the spots atticus cleared off and used that to her advantage. she was happy to be doing stuff like this but she does wish she came more prepared. 'i was looking for my people in the mist of war, i shouldve know to bring some stuff" charlie was deep in thought thinking if she could use anything, as she wasnt paying attention she put her hand on a sharp rock "Ouch!" she yelped and pulled her hand away, her feet slipping, charlie only hand one hand on a rock, charlie looked at her left hand see see if there was anything, there was a gash, but big enough for stitches, she pulled away just in time, charlie got her feet steadied in place. she whipped the blood off on her pants and started climbing, the gash on her hand, still bleeding, and throbbing, charlie endured the pain, she could for a while it didnt hurt as much as when the rock cut her, but it still hurt. she climbed using her injured hand, her legs doing most of the work. |
