Rouge settled herself down while Evie flipped through the channels, awkwardly gazing at a painting of a vase of flowers. To her, it was better to look at and have a settled mind than to stare at someone who drives her senses wild. Her fingers twist a strand of her hair to give her anxious fingers something to do. She only turned her focus back to Evie when the various colors from the TV settled onto one. A singular eyebrow raised in curiosity as the movie Evie decided to pick the horror genre. She was never a fan of scary movies. She considers them painful to watch, either from the dumb plot, characters, or both. Not to mention movies involving vampires, usually ending with Rouge scoffing at ridiculous information about her kind; nonetheless, she'll endure it for the werewolf's sake of happiness. She'll judge her taste in movies afterward.

As Evie lay beside her but kept her distance, Rouge's face briefly fell into a disappointed grimace. It was understandable after what she childishly did to her neck. She scolded herself for such crude behavior that she believed made the werewolf keep herself away. Perhaps she pushed it too hard on her. I mean, she did it out of nowhere. The sudden approach could've made Evie disgusted, yet she stayed for whatever reason. Her mind was in shambles trying to figure out if what she did was wrong. Well, her answer was received not by her but by the werewolf who pressed herself against her. Her head resting on her chest and arms around her torso made Rouge stiffen. On the outside, Rouge has a calm appearance, unshaken and firm. Internally, she was a mess and flustered. Her concentration on the movie wasn't there, pretending to watch the film. Her mindset only focused on what the werewolf was doing, her skin prickling when Evie's head was buried into her collarbone.

Rouge sheepishly brought her hand over to the werewolf, resting it on her hip, loosely holding onto it. Her blushing intensified when Evie whispered in her ear in a voluptuous manner. Before she could respond, she could feel the other's lips against her neck, with such actions making her gasp in surprise and gratification, her hand on the woman's hips tightening and her nails digging into her skin slightly. The pressure of the kisses started off light, her skin feeling ticklish with each kiss. The trail of kisses started moving downwards, getting hungrier with each touch. Rouge bit her lip, holding back any other noises that she was close to slipping out. Her racing heart never settled, only growing faster with the given affection. When Evie stopped her behavior, Rouge let out a relieved sigh, albeit quietly. She let her guard down a little, believing it was all over. Well. It wasn't. The kisses turn into bites, with Rouge knowing she'll be covered in markings. The toughened biting didn't hurt her, only stirring her lustful feeling up more. When Evie pulled away, Rouge noticed the look of pride in her while she admired her freshly decorated body.

The other's hand on her hip made Rouge blush, her eyes illuminating in the dark. Her brows raised when Evie rested her head back on her collarbone, enjoying the feeling of the woman's breath on her skin. She waited patiently, intrigued about what she'll do next. After what seemed like forever, with no further actions, Rouge leaned forward to kiss her forehead. The kiss was tender, the vampire expressing her fondness differently. She wants to return the favor but is unsure if she can restrain herself. You know, with drinking her blood and everything when she gets too heated. Rouge's free hand rubs the exposed back, pulling her even closer against her body. Rouge's kisses moved down to Evie's lips, her grip loosening on her hip. The kiss was gentle and loving before escalating further to something else. She pulled away after a minute, wrapping both arms around her this time. "You won't regret it all," she questioned, pulling away to gaze into her eyes, "sleeping with me. . .being with me?" Her face fell, her eyelids faltered, and her eyes lost their glow. Her lips part before closing again, breaking eye contact to look at the bedsheet.

Evie still lay there with her head rested on Rouge's collarbone, absentmindedly tracing the outline of the woman's hip. She was slightly interested in the movie now, which had gotten significantly more violent since she had last looked at the TV. The scene unfolded before her, the main protagonist, who was now possessed it seemed, was fighting against the exorcist. The scene changed whenever who she presumed to be the murderer entered the room and slaughtered the exorcist. She winced slightly at the new sight of blood all over the concrete room. Evie turned her attention back to Rouge, sneaking loving glances up at her once in awhile. She wondered what was going through the woman's mind. Obviously it couldn't be something of disgust or annoyance, considering the fact she hadn't been pushed away.

Evie brought her attention back to the TV whenever a bloodcurdling scream rang out, but it wasn't anything particularly interesting. Or, well, not interesting enough to break her attention from the vampire she lay on. She caught little whiffs of the woman every now and then, each time being stronger than the last.

Her feelings of desire were still as strong as ever. Like a primal instinct, a feeling telling her to act again. Yet she didn't, she was at peace for now. Evie cast a glance upwards as she felt lips on her forehead, a small smile now playing on her lips. The hand on the bare skin of her back pulling her even closer made her shift her position slightly, so that now her legs were rested overtop Rouge's and they were closer than ever.

The feelings and actions were far from foreign to her, yet somehow it felt like it. It was if they were different this time around, more sincere and desired. Evie returned the gentle kisses from Rouge, matching the pace as the vampire escalated things again. It was still odd to her. Looking back on the day they met, she never would've expected any of this to happen. She still held a hatred for vampires back then and having to protect one disgusted her. But now that clearly wasn't the case. As Rouge pulled away and wrapped both arms around her, Evie tilted her head.

Upon hearing the woman speak, Evie frowned slightly. She adjusted her position so that she was now on her side, propped up by her elbow. Evie placed a hand on Rouge's jaw, moving her head to force the vampire to look into her eyes again. "I'm not too sure of many things," she began, her voice soft as she shifted her gaze from Rouge's left eye to the right, "but I'm sure of you. I want you to do as you please." She looked at the vampire with a loving expression, one she had never looked at anyone else with. There were people in her life she had once loved so dearly and would've done anything for, but nothing else compared to this.

Evie leaned forwards and gently pressed a kiss to Rouge's lips, then again to her cheek. She had long since tuned out the sounds of the movie, not wanting their special moments to be ruined by some scream that wasn't one of theirs. Her feelings from earlier still remained, begging for Evie to act on them. It took nearly all of her self control to not do so, at least until she decided to let their moment end.

Evie gently kissed Rouge again, but this time it had different feelings behind it. This one was lustful, full of want. It was clear they both felt the same way now, so she didn't feel it was necessary to hold herself back. The cut on her lip still stung as it did earlier, but she didn't mind it. Evie moved the hand on Rouge's hip to her waist now, gingerly digging her nails into the fabric of the robe.

Her other hand was still rested on the woman's jaw, her thumbnail pressed softly against Rouge's skin. She made sure to be gentle with her actions for now, just in case. An idea popped into her head, and a smirk formed on her face. In one swift motion, she moved her entire body so that she was now on top of Rouge. From the waist down, they were touching.

Her hands were positioned on either side of Rouge. It was a bold move considering the fact that the vampire could easily overpower her and reverse the roles, but she had done it anyways. Evie triumphantly smirked down at Rouge, as if she was prey that had been caught.

Rouge's mind was going blank with each kiss she received, her lips trembling in delight and the pupils in her eyes enlarged. Her face felt warmer as she blushed heavily, and Rouge's breathing grew rapid. She was holding herself back from her vampiric predatory instincts, her fangs extending. Her hands quivered, flexing her fingers as her nails turned into claws. The TV in the background doesn't exist to her, as the only thing on the woman's mind is Evie and only Evie. The sounds from the TV unphased her sense of hearing, with her eardrums transfixed by the werewolf's rapid heartbeat. Rouge's instincts were on another level and out of her control. Each kiss drove her insane, her skin prickling where she kissed her.

Her humanity was depleting, her sense of control falling out of her grasp. "Evie, I-" she called out, her voice quivering, and it only worsened when she got pinned. The vampire's eyes glimmered, matching the same luminosity as the television. She squirmed under the werewolf while her eyes transfixed on the other. Her teeth bit her bottom lip, legs squishing together. Seraphina was unsure what was going on with her, but one thing's certain, she loved it. She adored whatever was going on. Funnily, this scene was ironic, considering that the vampire has a fiercer and more dominating presence with a fiery aura to match. Yet here she was, under someone who was the polar opposite, one who seemed passive and tamed, a person who could never pull a stunt such as this.

Seraphina could openly convey that she was both impressed and amused, yet the ability to speak in a dilemma. Her hands reached to cup the woman's face, tracing her thumbs along her cheekbones, with her eyes dazed as if in a trance. She gently pulled Evie's head towards her, bringing their lips closer together, stopping when they were centimeters away. "Evie, I think-" she paused, inhaling the other's alluring fragrance, inhaling the dried blood on the other's lips. That was enough to drive Sera deeper into a rabbit hole, the vampire's lips rushing to meet the werewolf's, her tongue tracing the cut greedily. She closed her eyes, allowing her desires to seep through her walls. Her arms coiled around the other's neck, fingers raking through the jet-black hair. For the first time in forever, the vampire allowed herself to do what she wanted without unseeable chains holding her back.

━━━━━ • ஜ • ❈ • ஜ • ━━━━━

The morning came in a blur, the vampire's alarm clock blaring in her ears. Seraphina turned to the side to face the clock, tiredly cussing it out for ruining her peaceful slumber. She lazily reaches a hand towards the clock, slamming the snooze button to shut the meddlesome machine off. When the room was quiet once again, she was close to falling back to sleep, yet she could hear the haunting calls of paperwork on her office desk calling her. She grudgingly got out of bed, the cold air brushing against her body, causing her to shiver. Rouge's eyes unfocused, blindly walking around the room, tripping on whatever items were on the floor of her room. That was odd. She doesn't remember dropping anything, let alone near her bed. Luckily, she reached the bathroom with no further hindrance, turning on the light with a flick of a switch.

When her eyes regained vision after being flashed, she gazed at herself in the mirror and was met with Evie's artwork. Sera's eyes widen in surprise, nearly gasping out loud before covering it with a hand, her eyes moving to the bed where the werewolf was still resting. Her eyes went down to the floor, with the pieces coming together in her head as she noticed their clothes scattered on the floor. She focused back on the mirror, checking out the bitemarks randomly on her body. "I thought I was the vampire," she joked quietly, trailing a finger over one marking on the right side of her neck. "I became the werewolf's damn chew toy." When her back stung, she frowned and turned to check her back in the mirror to see what was wrong. Only to meet with another of Evie's objet d'art. Claw marks, starting from her shoulders down to her waist. They were healing steadily, but it was better than nothing. "She better not call me Tiger after this." Her eyes narrowed, but something in her head would adore such a pet name. She struts over to her shower and turns it on the hottest setting, then grabs a bathrobe from the hook and wraps it around herself.

She left the bathroom to her bed where the other woman was, sitting down beside her. Rouge exhaled softly, her eyes scanning the slumbering face of her companion, lured into another daze. Her finger trailed along her jawline, tickling the surface of her skin. The vampire bends down, planting a kiss on the side of her forehead. Her eyes dulled as hesitation invaded her thought process, wanting to keep gazing upon such a peaceful face forever. She sighed in regret before gently shaking the other awake, a welcoming smile on her face. "Puppy," she gently said, her voice full of love and sincerity, "it's time to get up. You can hop into the shower first. It should be warmed up by now." She got up from her bed, moving to her walk-in closet to see what clothes would work for today.

Evie gazed down at the woman underneath her, taking in every little feature she could see. She's undoubtedly perfect, Evie decided. Nothing could change that for her. Slowly, she trailed her gaze down the woman's body. Her eyes stopped on the woman's hands, her pale green eyes widening. Are those.. claws? Her confidence faltered slightly, unsure of what to think.

After a brief moment of consideration, she reached out and gently took Rouge's hand in her own. Yup, those were indeed claws. She ran a finger over one of the claws, tilting her head curiously. She dropped the woman's hand and resumed her previous actions. Evie couldn't contain her feelings anymore. It was impossible, like trying to keep an unruly dog away from a squirrel. As she pulled away yet again to admire the beauty of the flustered woman, she froze as she felt hands cup her face.

Rouge's hands were warm, a very pleasant feeling in contrast to the bitter cold air previously on her cheeks. She allowed the vampire to move her head down closer to her. They were now incredibly close, so close that Evie could feel the warm breaths coming from the vampire on her lips.

If it was even possible, her heart began to beat even faster. She was sure it was about to break free from her chest. As she heard the enchantingly beautiful voice of Rouge, confusion crossed her features. As she spoke, Evie could see the glimmer of long, sharp fangs. Was Rouge having second thoughts now? Did she not want to go any further?

Her overthinking was quickly cut through whenever she felt lips connect to hers yet again, soothing her mind completely. Evie winced slightly at the feeling of Rouge's tongue on her cut, yet she didn't pull away. It only added to everything.

Her eyes were closed, and her face was completely flushed at this point. The hand in her hair, and the arms around her neck was just enough to fully set her off. Evie blindly reached a hand out to Rouge's side, trailing it downwards. Her next actions held no hesitation whatsoever.

---------------------------

Evie was startled awake in the morning by the blaring alarm, but she was too lazy to actually get up and see what it was. She didn't even stir, other than to move her head slightly. The scent of Rouge was intense, and no matter where she moved her head, it was still there. It was far from suffocating, she rather enjoyed it. She easily fell back asleep for a while, completely at peace.

Upon being woken up by the sweet voice of her unofficial lover, she frowned. "Can't we just.. sleep in or something?" Her voice held a slight rasp to it, and her words were deathly close to being incoherent mumbles.

Evie had quickly come to the realization that no, they could not sleep in. Not today at least. She begrudgingly sat up in bed, her eyes fixated on the woman who sat next to her. She took the vampire's hand, bringing it up to her lips to give it a soft kiss. "Thank you." Her words were significantly more clear now. As she was about to stand up, she quickly came to the realization that she wasn't wearing her own clothes.

She wore one of Rouge's shirts.. and no pants. Oh. Evie was almost embarrassed before she recalled the events of last night, the memories flooding back into her mind. Her gaze was now settled on Rouge's neck, cheeks now turning a light shade of pink.

Finally, she swung her feet over the edge of the bed reluctantly and stood. Thankfully, the shirt she wore went halfway down to her thighs so she wasn't fully exposed. The thong she had on was crooked on her hips, but she didn't care enough to fix it. She was going to change, anyways. As she made her way to the bathroom, she quickly bent down to grab her shorts. Evie shut the bathroom door softly, pausing to look around.

Had she ever been in Rouge's bathroom? Probably not. The mirror was already slightly fogged, so she didn't waste time to strip and get in. Almost immediately, her eyes landed on Rouge's soaps. She took one of them and brought it up to her nose, inhaling slightly. It was a little odd of a thing to do, but she was curious.

Evie quickly finished her shower, though she was faced with a dilemma now. Wear the dirty clothes she went into the bathroom with, or go to her room in a towel? Either way, it was something she didn't want to do. Inhaling sharply, she dried herself off and wrapped the towel around her body. This was just another fun way to tease and fluster Rouge. She quietly opened the door and shut it behind her, clothes in hand. She'd definitely be keeping the shirt. At the sight of Rouge standing in the walk-in closet, she felt a small bit of relief.

Evie made it to the bedroom door before she paused, turning around. Her wet hair was rested against her back, parts of it clinging to her neck. She brought her hand up to her neck to brush the hair away, only to be met with two holes in her neck, perfectly vertical of each other. What the hell? "I'll leave you to your work, love." She called out in a sweet tone, yet her voice was slightly shaky. The discovery was startling to her, as she had no clue what was wrong with her neck.

With that, she opened the door and shut it softly behind her, hurrying off to her own room. Evie instantly went to her bathroom, leaning against the marble countertop to get a closer look at her neck. Her mind went back to Rouge's fangs last night, and it all clicked in her head. Without another thought, she went to her closet to pick out an outfit. She planned to change it later if they had plans, but for now she opted for something comfortable. She chose a pair of baggy black sweatpants, and Rouge's shirt that she had woke up in. She didn't necessarily consider it dirty, so it didn't matter to her.

Evie grabbed one of her many oversized windbreakers, this one in particular was a lovely navy color. She slipped on a pair of sneakers while she put the windbreaker on and zipped it. Finally, her gaze rested on the nightstand by her bed. She was in an internal debate about if she should do what she was thinking. Evie sighed and grumbled to herself as she approached the nightstand, pulling open a drawer to reveal various things and a pack of cigarettes and a lighter on top.

Although she told herself she was going to quit, here she was. Evie slipped them in the pocket of her windbreaker and made her way outside, taking in the scene. The ground was lightly frosted and it was cold, and her breath pooled out as most before her. She leaned against the wall of the manor, pulling both cigarettes and lighter from her pocket. She took one from the pack and brought it up to her lips, using her hands as a shield from the breeze to light the cigarette.

She took a long drag, exhaling and watching as it turned into mist with her breath. It was a mesmerizing sight, the way the sunlight of the morning caught in the smoke and shone through it. She took another long drag, silently hoping that the smell of tobacco didn't get on the shirt underneath the windbreaker.

Days after the incident, Rouge has been on her toes around Evie, avoiding the other woman to ensure that such an incident will never happen again. Still, she couldn't help but cast a longing gaze the werewolf's way, her auric eyes seemingly transfixed toward Evie. Each time she looked at her, she could feel her heart hammering into her chest with her lips craving to be kissed. Rouge doesn't recall how much she facepalmed to force herself to concentrate. She needs to focus on work and complete them all before they depart for Austria. Rouge kept herself locked tight in the office day in and out, locking her office doors to prevent distractions from her workflow. With such interruptions being named Evie. After what felt forever, Rouge had finished everything a day before they were supposed to take flight, with the vampire breathing a sigh of relief. Still, Rouge felt guilty for neglecting her companion's needs, shutting the poor woman out like nothing ever happened between them. Her mouth felt dry upon the thought of Evie feeling used and then disposed of like it was nothing, which wasn't Rouge's intention.

Rouge could make it up to Evie once they land in her home country and spend time with her after days of ignoring her. Buy her the things she wanted, hug her every minute of the day, and kiss her gorgeous lips to show appreciation. She would give Evie all the adoration she could ever desire. Although, something Rouge's head could tell that it wouldn't be enough for the werewolf to completely forgive her after leaving her untended for so long. That means Rouge would have to try harder to earn her forgiveness, even if it would take a while. With it comes to creating work plans, that's an easy matter for the vampire, but creating something for dates is a challenge. When she dated Lucas, he handled the romantic part while Rouge tuckered herself out for work. She dated Lucas so her other pursers could leave her be. He was nothing more but a tool for her desires. Rouge isn't skilled with dating due to her hardened nature and lack of knowledge of showing affection, so she steers clear of anyone seeking to be with her to save them from disappointment.

It's different now, as she's pursuing and lusting over someone. When they got off the private jet, she couldn't help but stare. On her face was a warm smile, yet her eyes showed visible exhaustion from overworking herself. Rouge swiftly moved to Evie's side, her arms wrapping around her waist and tugging her closer so their sides were brushing. "I apologize for paying little attention to your needs, puppy." Her tone was sincerely apologetic and guilt-ridden, bringing her head down to give her a quick peck on the top of her head. "I had to catch up on work before we left before my siblings would kill me." She couldn't tell Evie the other reason why she avoided her, not wanting the werewolf to shun herself for her behavior as Rouge did it too. Their actions were inappropriate for a more innocent term, with both of them going through with it. As such, it isn't fair for one person to take the blame. A part of Rouge didn't mind it, craving for it to happen again. Simply being around Evie was enough to send her feelings into a spiral. Not wanting it to breach so that occurrence didn't happen again, Rouge held them back. However, there's still a chance that it would grow tired of being suppressed and suddenly break free, making Rouge's sensuality overpower her mind and create another event that develops in the manor. To solve this, Rouge only gives Evie a certain level of tenderness, like side-hugging or brief smooches. It wasn't much, yet it was enough to settle her needs.

Noticing the car that was supposed to drive them around, Rouge gently caressed the werewolf's side before letting her go. "I'll make it up to you now," she turns to face the other now; despite her tiredness, there's an exciting twinkle in her eyes, "and spoil you with lavish gifts." She cupped Evie's cheek with a hand, twirling her thumb over her cheekbone. Regardless, her eyes couldn't help but wander to her lips, Rouge biting her own as she resisted the longing to kiss her. She leaned forward to bring her lips to the other's ear, dragging her hand down to press a thumb on Evie's lips, "As well kiss you in private." She tauntingly whispered, grinning maliciously before prying herself away. That grin remained on her face when they approached the car, Rouge opening the backseat door for Evie to enter first. She waits patiently for her partner to climb in first before shutting the door and walking to the other side of the car to get in from that way. Rouge settled comfortably in her seat, folding her legs and resting her hands in her lap. As the servants put their belongings in the truck, the vampire twisted her body to face her bodyguard. "We're visiting your family, yes?" She inquired, raising a singular brow, doubt lingering in her eyes.

"I have a feeling your family won't enjoy my arrival. I suggest we keep what's happening between us a secret," she furrowed her brows, her face falling, "Our war between our species is on hold until we solve the human issue, remember? Once it's over," her fingers anxiously twitched, the light in Rouge's eyes faded, "we have to part ways. Still," she reached a hand over to gently hold onto Evie's, resting her eyes on the other, "I want to be with you." She rubs her thumb along Evie's knuckles for a few seconds before letting go. The trunk slammed shut, indicating that it's time for them to head out. The servants hopped into the front seats, one taking the driver and the other the passenger. As the car drives away from the private airport, Rouge faced away from the werewolf, staring out the window to check out the scenery.

For nearly the entire ride on the private jet, Evangeline had spent it overthinking. Her mind was like a prison, with no distractions, and the main cause of her discomfort just inches away from her in the seat beside her. The past few days had been lonely. So, so lonely. Had Rouge just used her? It's the only thing her mind could think about. As they exited the jet, her thoughts were a blur. All she knew is that they weren't pleasant in the slightest. She squinted in the bright light of the sun, bringing a hand above her brows to shield her sensitive eyes from the harsh rays. Too lost in thought to even think about her surroundings, her body tensed up in an uncomfortable manner as she felt arms slide around her waist and tug her backwards.

Evangeline turned her head over her shoulder, met with the sight of the woman who both destroyed and pleased her mind. The familiar golden eyes, illuminated in the sunlight. The words that came from Rouge's mouth nearly knocked the wind out of her. Oh, so now she wanted to apologize? Her jaw clenched slightly, but she didn't say anything. Instead, Evangeline offered a meek smile. Her breath caught in her throat as she felt the soft little peck on the top of her head. The sudden affection was confusing. Did Rouge like her or not? Finally, she managed to speak. "It's okay," she began with a tone she tried her best to keep gentle, "I understand how important your work is." Yeah, sure. Was her work really so important that she had to lock herself in her room 24/7? She felt used. Upset. Angry, even. But it's not like she could fully blame Rouge for what happened, she had been the one to instigate it, after all.

She wasn't upset over what happened. It was more so the fact that Rouge shut her out and hadn't spoke a single word to her in days since that night. Evangeline glanced around, spotting a familiar looking car. Her gaze wandered up to Rouge again, feeling her arms leave her waist. Thank goodness. She almost had to admit that she was grateful for the gentle display of affection. Evangeline faked a smile upon hearing Rouge's words. There wasn't any point in trying to make it up. The damage was already done. Now gazing up into the twinkling eyes of the vampire, her smile faltered upon seeing how exhausted she looked. The hand gently cupping her cheekbone brought her back to reality, her gaze flickering down to Rouge's hand before it went back to her eyes. Noticing the way her eyes trailed lower, Evangeline raised a brow. Was she.. looking at her lips?

Her body tensed only slightly as Rouge leaned down, and her heart fluttered in her chest. But, then, Rouge moved past her lips and to her ear. Damn. She felt a twinge of disappointment until she heard what Rouge had whispered. Between her soft words and thumb pressed gently into her lips, it was a little too much. Evangeline gasped softly, feeling a shudder of anticipation run through her body. No, she couldn't be excited over that. She shouldn't even still be having such feelings for Rouge. She would make things difficult for Rouge, she decided, to test how she really felt. Her lips were still slightly agape as she watched Rouge move away and walk to the car, but she quickly shook her head to rid herself of her little surprise and followed her. "Damn you." Evangeline whispered under her breath as she reached the car door, giving a little nod of thanks to Rouge as she held it open.

Her curious gaze landed on the servants. One of them she recognized, the other she didn't. Her legs crossed over one another, hands rested delicately on her bare thighs. She had changed on the jet prior to landing to accommodate for the weather in Austria. Evangeline opted for a pretty little white lace sundress, with a criss cross tie on the otherwise backless dress. It fell shortly above her knees, about halfway down her thighs. It was quite comfortable and would definitely combat the heat. Perhaps being away from her homeland for so long made her overestimate how hot it would be, but it was better to be on the safe side, not the sweaty side. Noticing Rouge's voice break through her thoughts, she turned her head. Her jaw clenched uncomfortably, as if suddenly being reminded of her presence was the worst thing in the world.

Perhaps she just didn't want to admit her feelings and thought denying them would make everything better. "Yes." She breathed out, keeping her tone steady. Her eyes flickered back to the servants at the trunk. They had quiet conversation amongst themselves, so they likely weren't paying attention to anything said by the women in the backseat.

Hearing Rouge's words, her face visibly dropped. Evangeline glanced away, down to her hands, anxiously rubbing her palms over her thighs. She didn't want to face the harsh reality of their situation. "I know," she began, meeting Rouge's gaze with a frown, "but it's better to live in the moment." Her gaze flickered down to their hands, feeling the soft thumb rubbing against her knuckles. Slowly, an actual smile tugged up on the corners of her lips as she heard the next words. "You.. you do?" Her words came out barely above a whisper, a faint glimmer of hope in her glittering green eyes.

It faded as soon as it came, her thoughts of happiness destroyed by her sudden remembrance of what had happened. As the servants moved into the front seats, one of them turned around to face her. He took her hand in his own, bringing her knuckles up to his lips for a soft, lingering kiss. They exchanged a few words of greeting before he turned back around to talk to the other servant. Evangeline couldn't help but steal a little glance over to Rouge, finding herself falling into a small trance. God, she was beautiful. Her eyes lovingly trailed down the vampire's figure, and an immediate hot blush crept over her face as she recalled what she looked like in her most natural state, images of that night flooding back to her mind. Evangeline forced herself to look away, prying her eyes away from the beautiful woman just inches away from her.

Her gaze instead rested out the window. They'd have a long while before they reached the castle unfortunately. Evangeline rested herself against the door, her knees pointed towards the door as well. She had her head completely turned, her entire body turned in an attempt to keep herself from looking to the vampire next to her. Everytime she looked at her, she was hit with a rush of anger and love all at once. It made her so dizzy. Her gaze followed the surroundings outside as they drifted past, admiring the familiar scenery. Perhaps sleeping would be the best choice here. If she slept, time would go fast, and she wouldn't have to face her inner turmoil.

Hearing a quiet, yet familiar song come over the radio, making her head snap towards the front of the car. The opening chords were all it took for her to recognize the song. And then, the enchanting vocals. "Don't have to write me a letter, 'cause i'll always be right here," A soft smile crept over her face as she heard the song. The next part, she hummed along softly, suddenly turning her head over to face Rouge. "Closer to you than your next breath, my dear." Whether or not Rouge heard or knew the soft hums were directed to her, Evangeline didn't know. Her hands that were anxiously fiddling with the bottom of the thin fabric of her dress gently tapped against her bare thighs, fingertips lightly grazing her soft skin. Her head turned away again, facing out the window, but her soft hums didn't stop. "If things ever go wrong, just know this is your song, and we love you."

The countryside scenery passed by in a blur. She watched as they passed various farmlands, dotted with cows, particularly Brown Swiss. Evangeline stole subtle glances over at Rouge as the song continued to play at a quiet volume, presumably put on by the servant familiar to her to ease her nerves. Her fingertips twitched slightly as she gazed over to Rouge for another time, feeling the strong and unbreakable urge to reach out and touch her. So, she did. One hand gently outstretched, and was placed on Rouge's thigh in a gentle manner. Evangeline gave a soft smile to the vampire, allowing her body to lean more towards Rouge than the door. Her thumb traced gentle circles as her hand rested there in a chaste way.

They needed to talk about what happened. She wasn't sure if Rouge felt the same, but it was driving her crazy. Evangeline slowly took her hand away, smiling softly at Rouge with a fake friendly expression. She couldn't even try to show her affection. It was too hard and it pissed her off so badly to the point where she could feel her stomach churning, and her heartbeat increase. Evangeline could hear the own rapid beating of her heart, much quicker than usual. She really was so pissed off that her body was reflecting and responding to the intense emotions.

How her thoughts managed to go to loving to murderous in the blink of an eye, she wasn't sure. Just moments ago, Rouge was the most irresistible thing to her. Now? Looking at her made Evangeline want to commit such atrocities that she could never recover from. In reality, she should hate Rouge. Even if it wasn't directly her fault, the vampire cost her the throne. She could've been a queen, had she not been forced into becoming a worthless bodyguard. That was something she could never quite forgive anyone for. Her gaze flickered out to the window, and she felt another harsh pang of anger in her chest. All that land would've been hers. She would've ruled it all. Her breathing quickened slightly, and she felt oddly dizzy.

Her entire world was spinning. Never in her life had she been so angry. Her usual, soft and gentle demeanor was no longer, and even one of the servants could feel the shift in the atmosphere. He glanced back to her, his brows raised in concern. Evangeline could only glare at him with a look that made him turn right back around. Anger wasn't her thing. And the way it had crept up on her so suddenly without warning scared her.

The soft music playing in the car changed to another song of the same artist. It slowly clicked in her head that they were playing one of her playlists, which consisted of all her favorite songs from said artist. The vocals were soft and the instrumental was pleasing. Slowly and surely, it began to calm her. Not enough to entirely get rid of her pure rage, but enough to make Rouge's presence tolerable. Evangeline closed her eyes and focused entirely on the music, leaning her head and body against the car door. Her head against the window, hands in her lap. Hopefully she'd fall asleep and not have to deal with anything anymore. Even if she fell asleep now, she would still have the cruel man she referred to as her father to deal with. He wouldn't be so keen on welcoming her back.

Her eyes closed a little tighter, her perfectly manicured acrylics digging softly into the skin of her thighs. That single thought opened up an entirely new world of feeling for her yet again. She wished she could just have some alone time. Between Rouge and her family, it seemed as though she wouldn't have a chance to get what she wanted until late in the evening. She couldn't just leave Rouge alone to fend for herself in the castle. Even if she was a confident, powerful woman, it was her family she was worried about.

They hated vampires with a burning passion. Just the mere thought of one being in their home would set them off. Evangeline dug her nails a little deeper into her thighs, her mind at a standstill. What was supposed to be a lovely little get away was already turning into a stressful nightmare for her. She didn't want to see Rouge. She didn't want to see her family. She just wanted to go straight to her room, curl up under the covers, and cry herself to sleep. Her eyes remained closed, her body extremely tense and rigid.

Her mind a whirlwind of thoughts going so fast that she couldn't even comprehend anything. Her eyes closed a little tighter, nails now painfully dug into the soft skin of her thighs, sure to bruise later on. Maybe she was just tired and cranky and that was what caused her sudden internal outburst. To the trained eye on the outside, it could be quite clear she was borderline about to have a panic attack. Her chest rapidly rose and fell, the slight quiver of her lower lip. It was all too familiar to her. No, this wasn't just about being tired. These were real and horribly unwanted feelings.
