personally I spent most of that 100 mush when I started on food cuz I couldn't get enough from explore to support my pack
but yeah, I get that the buyer can do what they like once their sold. It just bothers me, I just find it kinda wasteful, specially if the wolf has over 30 talents. Some people would gladly take a wolf like that yk

Maybe I'm the wrong person to talk to though because I have a literal bone farm lol

09:03:24
If I get quests that need me to set some wolves free, I'll just get them from the Free Range rather than the Trading Post because I know they dont belong to anyone so its a bit less sad somehow
 Ecifircas
09:03:06
Heather, I feel you. I wouldn't retire wolves either if there wasn't a currency incentive. I think bones are too useful to pass up so I keep retiring wolves.
 kycantina
09:02:50 ky
naw because if they want fancy wolves they can explore, save, and pay fancy wolf prices. I had a high T girl like two days into the game
 Rogue Wildfires
09:02:16 Mac and Cheese
I'm pretty sure new packs get 100 mush to start off with. I think they can afford it
 Ecifircas
09:02:08
I think that's a very kind thing to do but unfortunately, once they're sold, the new owners can do whatever they'd like with them. Some packs find more use for the bone currency than mush so they'll spend 5 mush on a wolf to retire them for a bone.
 Heather
09:02:04
I know this sounds a bit weird but I find retiring wolves a bit sad, at most I'll just make them leave my pack so they can roam around free-range, they might not be in my pack anymore but at least they're living their lives elsewhere in the game world

or it might just me being being oversentimental idk qwq
 Rushing River Tribe
09:01:37 Carrie/River
like I get it, but idk guess I just try to be considerate of the packs starting out that might want them but can't afford anything over 10-15 mush
 Rushing River Tribe
09:00:19 Carrie/River
I sell them at 5 mush so starting packs or new players can afford them
 Ecifircas
09:00:07
Rushing River Tribe, because when you put a wolf up for sale, you're saying 'okay, pay this and you can do whatever you want.' Clearly, you don't find use for the wolf either if you sell it.

I retire wolves all the time. Once you sell it, it's not yours to worry about - you've been paid off not to bother what happens to the pixels.

Carrie-
Because there are way too many wolves in the game already.
 kycantina
08:59:37 ky
Rushing, most wolves under 5 mush get retired, if you don't want that to happen price them higher so it's less worth it
 Rushing River Tribe
08:58:07 Carrie/River
can someone explain why people will buy a perfectly good wolf just to retire them??
Like I get that you get bones for them, but they were likely for sale cuz the breeder didn't just want to retire them. Someone on here might've liked to have that wolf as part of their pack, instead of just throwing them away.
yes for some 41 talents isn't enough, but for others that could be the boost they need to get their breeding program started.
I just don't get it, sorry for the mini rant, just wanted to express my confusion as to why people feel the need to do this <_>

Liri didn't waste any time, dropping her bag on the floor by the bed, gave a quick glance around, then headed back out. Finding Emerald and Sombra already there. Emery came out and joined them only seconds after her. That left only Wyatt and she was guessing Delta was going to be out of it for a while longer. She was still tense, her arms crossed protectively over her chest.

Emery came out of her newly chosen room, giving a quick glance towards Delta's as she quickly moved over towards the group that was still missing Wyatt. She dreaded the possibility that he had gone and done something stupid, but luckily it was only a few more seconds before he appeared from his room.

Wyatt found he was the last one to join the group, but felt no shame. He didn't have to stand awkwardly and wait. His demeanor was mostly relaxed as he went to stand with them. The more protective tension easy to miss.

Sargent Hannes waited patiently as all six went and picked out their rooms. He didn't have to wait long for all of them to come back, "Good. Most of you are all here" He started to say "I was already informed that one of you would be on a drug for the helicopter ride. I also already know your names and what you can do, while the other soldiers, captians, and lieutenants don't." Hannes crossed his arms.

"So the first rule for you guys to know is that your're not allowed to shift in front of your fellow soldiers unless the base is being attacked. Second, there are set times when you will be having Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Since you have different food requirments than the rest, you will be eating Breakfast and Dinner in this building. At Lunch you will be eating what we eat and where the other soldiers eat. You're going to be here for months so its best for everyone to be familer with you." Hannes said as he looked at the time and then back at the 5 of them. "Third, you will be waking up at 6:00am on the dot and going to sleep at 10:00pm on the dot, This is how things work around here. Combat training will be with your fellow soldiers, while others will take place in the forest away from prying eyes."

"Lastly, Delta will be considered the captian of your small group. The one who is in charge of you on the field and gives you orders. I was told to put him in this role since you all view him as a alpha in a sense and are comfortable listening to him. Now, any questions?" Sargent Hannes asked when he was finally done speaking.

Liri was fine with the most of what was said. Such as Delta being their captain, the sleeping hours and eating..well that they'd be having lunch with the other soldiers wasn't a comfortable idea, but she'd live. However, that combat training would be with the soldiers made her significantly uneasy. She reluctantly lifted her hand ever so slightly when the Sargent asked for questions. "I won't be paired with any of the soldiers during combat training, right?" Due to her history of abuse, combat training with her could be a bit risky. And she didn't think it'd be very good if she was paired with a soldier who didn't what to expect if she got a little overwhelmed and lost control of her strength.

Wyatt didn't have much of a problem with the set rules. Did wonder about a few things, but not enough so to ask. He'd find out as time progressed.

Emery felt her heart sink ever so slightly upon hearing the hour they were getting up at. No more sleeping in. What a miserable thought. She turned her attention the more serious question Liri asked, she could sulk about having to get up early later.

Emerald was not fond of not being able to sleep in anymore, be she knew that this would be very different from the lab. Training around new people would be stressful, but would they be training with the soldiers at partners? That would honestly make it worse for them if that was the case, thankfully Liri asked the question.

Though since they had all have been paired with Liri at some point during combat training. They knew how she got when it came to that, and to imagine someone training with her without knowing what could happen...could be dangerous. Emerald looked over Liri and saw that she was uneasy, she looked back at Sargent Hannes as they waited for an answer.

He listened to the one question that he was asked and it was about the combat training. "Normally that would be the case. But I got specific instructions from he scientist and the government about you six beng paired with anyone other than yourselves." He said, " So you'll only be training around them so they get familiar with you"

The relief of hearing that was intense and Liri's tension and unease faded. While she did have issues, it was probably dangerous for any of them to be paired with anyone that didn't know what they were, she realized once more relaxed. It could have gotten messy.

Emery listened as the Sargent answered Liri's question. Actually kind of relieved herself. She still remembered them having to first learn to hold back some on their strength before the guards could work with them on combat back when they were still learning the basics. And it still had been a bit of a dangerous game.

Wyatt realized that he hadn't even thought of the risk involved in them being paired with the soldiers for training. Atleast they wouldn't be, so thay was good.

"I'll leave you all to get settled now. Since you arrived late and I was informed that you have not eaten since yesterday, so the guards will be bringing you foos soon." Sargent Hannes said as he walked towards the door. "I will be checking in on you often, so if ever get any questions you don't have to wait." He opened the door and heard the dogs barking and sighed, "and we'll find a solution with the dogs" Hannes said before closing the door, leaving them alone.

Sombra was glad that they still would only be training with eachother, though still a bit nervous about training in front of others. "Do you think the dogs will like us?" He said trying to take everyones mind off the thought of combat training. That and to keep their mind off of their empty stomachs, which would probably start demanding food as everyones bodies relaxed from the helicopter ride.

There was a scrambling of marines getting back to tasks as the Sargent appeared from the building. They knew better than to listen in on government business..well atleast some of them did and they kept the others from doing so, but they had still taken the chance to be idle and jokingly discuss what might be going on. The dog handlers' attempts at settling the dogs had been abandoned for now in hopes they would calm down on their if given a bit of time.

Liri relaxed even further once it was only them in the building. Gladly accepting Sombra's change of subject instead of talking about the the rules they had been given. "I'm guessing we'll find out at some point in the future" she said with a slight shrug. It would probably be a bit inconvenient if they had to go on a mission that involved the dogs when they didn't like them.

"I hope they do, they look adorable...if you look past the teeth" Emery said, having taken a glance at the dogs as the group had been on their way in. There two dogs from what she had been able to see at a quick look.

Wyatt looked in direction of the barking for a moment then chuckled lightly. "From the sound of that barking, it doesn't seem like it" he decided, though actually kind of curious what their reaction to the group of werewolves would be.

"You...do realize they're trained to attack right?" Emerald said when Emery said that the dogs were adorable. Even though she wasn't wrong, they were cute when they weren't barking at them but at the moment they were terrifying. "Also trained to sniff out bombs like we are" Emerald added while sitting down in a chair near the wall.

Sombra too the chance to sit down as well, even though they had been sitting for hours. "Well I'm sure we can coaparate with them after they get use to us being here" He said to them as he thought for a moment before speaking again. "I wonder if can understand what normal dogs say, or like understand what their barking means or something" Sombra said with a shrug, thinking about the concept of being able to understand the dogs or the dogs being able to understand fully what they said.

"Yes, I do realize that" Emery answered cheerfully, "we've also been trained to attack." Finding a place to sit since everyone else was starting to sit, it would be a bit uncomfortable to stay standing up.

Liri found a open seat and drew her legs up out of habit, getting herself to ignore the world outside of them and focus on the conversation. "I think they use more their body language and by the sound of their barking and growling and all that to communicate. Like right now they sound kind of angry" she said, tilting her head slightly as she thought. "But I bet we'd be able communicate with them well enough, especially when shifted. And we'd probably be able to understand them well since we also partially use our body language and sometimes growling too" she didn't know any of it for sure, mainly guessing by what made sense to her.

Wyatt sat himself on the ground right where he was. "We were trained to use guns, to smell out bombs and guns, to battle...why did the scientists never think to test what would happen if we were to be around the military dogs" he said, rather amused by the realization.

"maybe they let it slip their minds since being trained in those other things are a little more important." Emerald said to Wyatt, "So probably getting along with dogs was the last thing on the list" She shrugged slightly and thought about what Liri said as an answer to Sombra's question. Would they have to show the dogs to not bother them by growling? She didn't want to do that and if any was, it would probably be everyone else but her and Emery.

Sombra listened closely to the dogs barking, they did sound rathered bothered by their presence. "They'll get used to us...eventually" He said as he suddenly looked up. Surprised to see Dealrta walk past him and to the door.

Delta had tried to sleep the drug he was given off, but the dogs weren't making it easy for him, so he left his room. Getting up and heading to the front door while ignoring everyone looking at him. The dogs were nearby so all he had to do was glare and growled loudly which shut the dogs up. With his job, Delta closed the door and headed back to his room, and fell back asleep.
