Smoky and his father was usely a night hunter and since he was being tough how to hunt he had to stay awake a bit longer as they when hunting Smoky looks up from ground towards the tree as he sniffs around her smell keep going to his nose and he sighed befoee climbing up a tree and following that smell before finding a hole in a tree and peeks inside seeing her sleeping and said " so you don't know how to get out of here "

Tokala heard someone yip by her hole. Well it wasn't her hole, but she slept in it. Tokala woke up to see the fox's face peering into her cozy "cottage". Tokala glared. "What are you snooping for?" She growled. Her insides twisted. She gobbled her mouse, and stretched. She was a littleb distrustful of strangers. Not that she shouldn't be. But then again, this fox saved her. Why? She wasn't his kin. She wasn't a friend. He did not owe her a favor. Or... was it something else? Kindness she had never experienced before? She hesitated. "Sorry for the bad manners. I never thanked you for pulling me out of the river. But foxes aren't meant to have good manners, I suppose. That's a stupid human thing. I'm Tokala, by the way. You?" Tokala asked. I forced myself to look calm. No point in showing my grumpiness. I didn't like being woken up, but I didn't want to fight, either.

Smoky jumps a little before saying " my dad and I was just out hunting " before looking away then heard her question and said " Smoky is a lovely to meet you " as he puts his ears forward before saying " i know what it like to lose someone so I didn't want your family to lose their kid so we decided to help you get back to your family if you.like " as he looks at her again and then said " also no need to thank me it not like I have any friends " as he look down and walks away from the hole

Tokala felt sympathetic. She followed closely behind Smokey. She plucked some berries, and buried them. She also buried a rabbit in the stash. And a bird. Eugh, feathers. By the time she showed Smokey the stash, she was still spitting out those stupid feathers. Tokala flicked her ears, alert. Suddenly, she tripped over a mouse. The mouse squeeked in terror, and tried to scurry away. Time for revenge on the little menace! Tokala quickly sunk her teeth into it's neck and added that to the stash. "There, you and your dad can share." She told Smokey. Hmph. Tokala would throw a fit if it wasn't enough. Then she'd have to wait for prey again! Her parents said her impatience was a weakness, but she disagreed. She deserved to be annoyed at the prey for not coming sooner.

Smoky said " umm thank you " as he looks at her then the father said " come little one Smoky stay at the cave " Smoky said " but dad " his father gives him a look and Smoky lower his head and said " yes father " as he turns and walks towards the cave while his father takes the little girl out of his territory and too some foxes that look like they were looking for someone

Tokala saw her cousins by the border. She rushed to them in relief. "Tari sent us to find you," One of her cousins told her. She followed them home, thinking to herself about all the blackberries she would eat when she was home. Little did she know of the trouble to come.

Smoky father watches before turning around and heads back to the cave as he walks Smoky father got attacked and killed and Smoky didn't know what happen before realizing he wasn't coming home Smoky slides out the cave and goes to the stash and digs some up and begins eat some before going out to find his father he softly sneaks around before seeing his father on the ground with a bobcat eating him Smoky looks down. He was alone now

Tokala went home and when she did, there was a deranged fox who was drooling over her parent's dead bodies. "Ah, hey! The daughter of my betrayer. Nice to meet you. I'm Tamamo-no-mae!" She exclaimed. "The Tamamo-no-mae?" Tokala cried. Tamamo-no-mae grinned. "No, you idiotic kit! I named myself after her! Well, you might as well call me Auntie Mae now. And... I have your siblings! You can run, but you can't hide!" Mae cackled. Tokala stared at Tari and Lari. Suddenly, Tari bit Mae's paw, and freed himself. Mae lunged at me. Just in time, Tari pushed both of us out of Mae's way. Tari growled. "Run!" He yipped. Tokala obeyed, stopping only once to watch Mae pick Tari up by the scruff, and use a vine to tie him up to a tree. Tokala ran, for her life, for her twin, for her sister, for her parents, and for the yowl of pain she heard from Smokey's territory. Tokala arrived, skidding when she saw Smokey by his father's dead remains. "I'm sorry for your loss," she told him.

Smoky looks up and said " I know this was going to happen one time " as he looks at her before saying " why are you not at home " as Smoky looks up and around like is someone going to come and attack them but then sat down and looks at her

"Someone who calls themself Mae happened. Deranged fox. Sandy colored. Red eyes." Tokala grumbled. She looked up into the sky, and said, "Whoever she is, I'm going back to track her scent and find her," She says darkly, "and when I do, she'll have questions to answer, and siblings to return."
