Day 
His dark eyes scanned the woman, assessing her. She was rather tall for a woman, although he still had a few inches on her. Her red hair was messy and windblown, and he watched as her beast shrunk to a smaller size and leapt to her shoulder, his face still set in a scowl.
Kaiser gripped the reins in his left hand, his right within easy reach of his weapons, the tattoos covering them standing out against his brown skin. The sun was setting slowly, and he needed to find the watchers before dark. If they were smart, they would have heard the commotion earlier and gone back to the base.
Now that the beast had shrunk, he was able to get past them. But gosh, was he itching for a fight. His scowl deepened when the woman spoke, a rather irritating grin splitting her face. Well, that made up his mind.
He reined his horse to the right, galloping for the forest in front of him. He wasn't about to sit around and be taunted by some irritating brat who thought she was all high and mighty because she rode a dragon. He had better things to do.
Kaiser's braid whipped behind him as he vanished into the trees, riding in the direction he had sent the watchers.
