Isadora didn't like the way she felt one bit, the whole war making her skiddish. "It could be an advantage but what about the scouts who died? Surely it was not a coincidence.." Her father spoke, shaking his head. They couldn't risk more of their military for an advantage point that might be treacherous.
Just then, a messenger knocked upon the door, entering once granted permission. "Your majesties," he dipped his head before holding up a scroll. "Your request for an escort inside of the northern empire has been approved," he explained, looking between the four royals. "Thank you. Leave us, please," her father dismissed the man before turning his attention back to the others. "It would seem the mission is set and ready at the soonest you can leave," he sighed, looking between the two young royals. |

Xevon dipped his head, silently thanking the messenger for their announcement. As they slipped out, the prince lifted his head. "Well, I suppose that is our cue." He risked one last smug grin toward the other king and guided Isadora from the room and toward their own chambers. His chin lifted up just slightly before he let a large scowl cross his face. "I don't know about you, but that story about the southern territories was... fishy at best."
Xevon didn't buy it at all and now he wondered if Isadora had any thoughts at all. Since she came with a fresh pair of eyes. |

Isadora couldn't help but relieved that they were about to go on their mission. It hopefully meant that they'd be getting some answers to all of their troubles. "I would say so," she murmured, nodding as he said that was their cue. Her father had glared holes into Xevon as the pair walked out, but had managed not to say anything.
Isadora sighed as he'd confirmed her thoughts that something was up. "It doesn't sound right at all," she scowled, pushing her hair from her face. "Theres no way that all of those people could have disappeared without a trace. And as for the scouts? God bless their souls, because I think there was foul play involved," she said, that cold hard look to her blue-green eyes. |

Xevon dipped his head lightly. "If it was a plague or sickness, the scouts would've brought it back here. And spread it. But it... didn't happen," he confirmed with a brief nod. "That's my concern. Something else is going on." Still, he held the door open for the princess and tipped his head just slightly. "Is there anything I can do to help make the journey easier for you? I'm used to travel but I don't know if you are," he said quietly. "What can I do to help you?" He briefly took her hand before letting go of her hand. |

Isadora nodded in agreement, "Those were my thoughts as well. A plague wouldn't be plausible. So either we're being lied to, or there is something much deeper going on." She knew what needed to happen, but she knew the mere suggestion would cause her anxiety. They needed to see the south for themselves.
Isadora stepped through the door, her head dipping in thanks. "If I'm being honest, the furthest I've ever traveled was from my home to yours, so I'm not sure how well I'll fare," she admitted, tensing at first when he'd took her hand. She'd relaxed rather quick, though he retracted his hand soon after. "I believe I'll be alright, I just need to be sure I've got everything packed that I'll need," she said softly, a smile finding its way to her face. |

Xevon tipped his head lightly, rubbed his forehead and closed the door behind him. AT least she said she was going to be alright. Ish. But he was far more worried about her not being okay. Because if she was less okay, he'd have to carry that as well as everything else. So making sure she was alright was his top priority. The young man took in a deep breath and let it out again. "What all do you need packed?" He questioned, gathering some casual clothing, a few pairs of royal garb. "I can do my best to help you." |

Isadora moved around the room, starting to gather clothes as well, some casual for comfort in riding as well as some baring the royal sigil. "The essentials mainly. I've got clothing under control, of course, but considering I've never done this, I don't know if there's anything certain I should have with me," she explained, placing her clothes into her luggage container.
Isadora sighed, pulling the ribbon from her hair, causing her curls to cascade around her first. "Truthfully, all I ask is that you be my rock.. Someone I can lean on if need be," she shook her head, ashamed to even ask. "I know I shouldn't have to rely on anyone, but I can't hide the fact that I'm not okay quite as well as you can..." she added, her gaze trained on the floor for a moment before looking up. |

Xevon nodded slowly glancing toward her for a moment, waving his hand after thinking for a few moments. His eyes glittering for a moment or two. "It just..." he hesitated for a long moment before deciding against it. "It's practice," he finally chuckled warmly and hummed. His eyes flickered for a moment or two. "But I can always be the voice if you want. I... guess it's hereditary?" Xevon stumbled briefly on his words and shook his head. "I can do that though. Give you some tips... if you want..." Truthfully, he didn't want to shove more on her than she wanted. |

Isadora smiled faintly, nodding as she continued to pack what she thought she'd need. "I would like that. I don't want you to have to do it all alone, but I don't want to a burden either," she explained, humming softly to herself. "I just... I don't want you to get overwhelmed or feel as though you have no one to rely on as well," she said, her voice turning soft as she sat on the edge of the soft bed. "I may not offer much comfort or solace, but I'll do my best to be what you need me to be," she told him, a soft giggle to her voice as she looked over the prince. |

Xevon glanced behind him towards her as she continued to pack. He hesitated a couple of times before shaking his head. "Oh, you could never be a burden," he replied. Well, she could but he wasn't going to let her have that satisfaction. "Your father? Ha, yeah. He'd be a real pain in the neck." But she was at the least tolerable, if that was the right word for what he was thinking. Xevon glanced back and flashed her another lopsided smile. "The real question... ha... that's more of can we actually get to the heart of the empire? I'll bet it's not even just one person. It's a council." |
