Ruina would admit it was nice having siblings, especially older ones. That meant that the Crown royal's duties would never fall to her. The likelihood of both Revalor and Ayduin dying was very rare. Though, that did not mean that Ruina could not rule as a Queen. Either as Queen of Truhan, or another kingdom. Her mother made sure that Ruina could lead. Finding it a valuable asset. However, because Ruina was third in line at the moment, her life was not as valued in her father's eyes. Which, despite her father's desperation to have Ruina return to her princess roots, meant that she had more freedom and more ability to do things. Like Revalor, as Crown Prince, he'd never see the battlefield. His life was too precious for him to even approach the field. Ruina did feel bad for Enzo, who as an only sibling, had to take all of the royal duties that his parents did not take.
Pretty much all of the soldiers had taken off by now. Now that training was over for the day, they wanted to go have some fun! They were always up at the crack of dawn starting training. With running and drills. The morning was more of running and keeping in shape. While the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon was drilling on sparring and fighting techniques. Somedays they would be pushed so hard, the soldiers would remain in the barracks and recover. But sometimes they felt like they'd barely do anything and go out on the town and have a blast! Then other days they felt somewhere in between.
Ruina could handle Ikaris, though many times the wereeagle got on her nerves. Though she'd learned that was just his personality, and so the annoyance was more of a simmer. Never much that actually would promote Ruina into doing anything besides rolling her eyes. She did feel bad that Ikaris had been informed he basically couldn't talk, because he would definitely offend someone, most likely unintentionally. However, if things got worse between father and daughter during this trip... Well, Ruina may just tell Ikaris to say whatever the hell he wanted to the king. She'd protect him from the king's wrath and keep the king from removing either Ritha from his kingdom. She knew how to put up a hell of a fight, and her father couldn't always win. Ruina knew without a single doubt, if anything happened, she'd defend and stand beside Ikaris and Enzo without a second's hesitation.
Ruina was delighted by the look in Enzo's eyes that made it clear that he would love the gardens. Truhan plants were interesting, especially mixed in the garden. There were a lot of plants that were found most often on land. However, there was a section within the garden (Ruina's favorite area) that was solely sea based. Little ponds and streams ran through this area, and only plants found underwater could be found here. They were planted solely along the water sources, and the Queen had figured out how to make them thrive without having to completely submerge them. And they were completely beautiful. Ruina was, of course, not really into plants. However, she loved to hang out in that little section, marveling at the beautiful plants. And of course, the Queen kept very good care of every plant within the gardens with help from others.
Ruina gently squeezes Enzo's hand. At his sheepish-apologetic smile, Ruina simply smiles brightly at him. All is good. She seemed to be saying back. Ruina leads the way away from the courtyard, along the dirt path towards the gardens. Allowing herself to drift closer to Enzo as they walked, hand in hand. "You and Riden seem close, I can see why though. He possess playful uncle vibes to me. When he's not giving a stern expression, that is." Ruina laughs slightly,"Yes, Riden and I are close. He was the one who taught me pretty much everything I know. He defied my father's objections for me, trained me and protected me when the men of the army would belittle and talk about me. Even though I was their princess, they found it ridiculous to have a women within their ranks."
A small smirk flickers across her face,"By the time I was fourteen, I was proving each and everyone of them wrong." Ruina had earned her spot among the soldiers of Truhan, and had proven it again and again to those who doubted her. She never liked to brag about her abilities, but she was good. "Riden was the father Aelrindel never could be." A small smile flickers back across her face,"He played the father role better and more than Aelrindel ever did. I owe him my life, and I would lay it down over and over again to protect him." Just as I would do for you. Ruina almost said to Enzo, but she held back. Was it still too soon in their relationship to say such a thing? Would Enzo find her a little too clingy if she said that?
Ruina perks up slightly as the walls of the garden appear. The only reason there were walls were to keep people and stray animals out. The gates were currently closed which meant the gardens were empty. However, that was no issue as Ruina swiftly finds the spare key and opens the gate. The werewolf returns the key to it's hiding spot before ushering Enzo inside. The door swinging shut and locking behind the two. Ruina gestures at the gardens,"Welcome to the Gardens of Truhan. My mother's greatest pride and joy, besides my brothers and I." Ruina's eyes gleam with excitement,"I can't wait to show you what we call the Water Area." She starts off, pausing to wait for Enzo, before moving on at a decent pace.
Thaola held in her laugh and smirk at Ikaris' ows. Keeping a sharp eye on the wereeagle when she released him. Though thankfully Ikaris simply rubbed at his ear. "As if. And at the worst, I'm here for a fun time Thaola, not a long time and kudos to Riden for being so laid back, I'll be sure to throw in my gratitude for that in a thank you card." Thaola sighs, though she laughs slight, shaking her head yet again. There were times when she and Ikaris got along great, then there were some when Thaola spent most of her time rolling her eyes and shaking her head at the wereeagle. Of course, they rarely fought. Thaola found it pointless to get into arguments, it was never helpful and never went anywhere except backwards. This was one of those moments when she just shook her head and rolled her eyes.
"I don't need saving. I've gotten this far just fine, burned bridges and all, by my own saving grace. And barrack boys hardly come close to the kinds of people I've had to bob and weave out of trouble with." Thaola smirks slightly,"Alright, whatever you say, birdie." She was now interested to see what would happen if Ikaris managed to piss off whoever was still within the barracks. It had looked like an easy day, so many were probably out on the town. "Which Thaola will make an appearance in the barracks? the host? The warrior? The friend that may or may not step in if I piss someone off?" Ha, he was teasing her. "Guess you'll have to find out the hard way." Came her answer. Mainly because she couldn't actually answer the question. There was no telling which side would come out. Being around all those soldiers may just pull out the warrior. Once again, there was no telling.
As Thaola reaches the door of the barracks, she knocks sharply and loudly three times, before counting to ten. Once she hit ten she pushes the doors open, if someone was undressed, it wasn't her fault. She waited long enough. The barracks were simple yet efficient. There were bunks spread out yet in neat lines. Pressed against the walls, the barracks were long and big. Weapons were kept above or beside the beds. Clothes were kept in the trunks. Other things were kept in the medium sized bed side tables. The room was themed grey, black, and a dark blue. While on the far wall the royal symbol of Truhan was emboldened on the wall. "Welcome to the barracks." Some of the bunks were full, but many soldiers were out doing other things.

If anything, Enzo would like to think his weight of responsibility and disciplined independence has readied him for the life of a lone ruler. The wereleopard would be fully capable of doing it alone by the time he takes the throne, and he was both proud and disheartened by this fact. On one hand, a lone ruler that could properly carry a kingdom into ever long prosperity and happiness is impressive. On the other hand, loneliness and constant stress. Even when he was smacked with all of his current responsibilities at once when in Ritha, it was admittedly stressful. Of course Enzo didn’t want to jinx or sabotage the chance of not having someone he trusted -and loved- enough to be his second set of hands. And at his current place in life, he was silently crossing his fingers that the someone he was hoping for was Ruina. Ikaris was well aware he got on most everyone’s nerves. But, like what is he supposed to do about that? Apologize for being himself? Yeah, not happening. He does have the lovely ability to wear people down into tolerating him, which is a gift. To relentlessly tear down walls of agitation until they’re diminished to a rubble that has little choice than to just accept his presence. It was actually a defense mechanism when he was younger; to be the loudest, and most seen, and to be the most annoying. In that sense, he was able to project a person that was an “open book” people wanted to keep at an arm's length. Mouthy Ikaris, loud Ikaris, obnoxious Ikaris… it used to be a show. Because if he was tearing down others walls and pushing people away, no one was looking at his own walls or coming too close. And then eventually, he literally just woke up and decided he liked the person he projected. The rest is history. Enzo greatly appreciated the squeeze of the hand and smile he received from Ruina. The wereleopard enjoyed walks, so he was very much in a relaxed and fairly tranquil state as he walked, but Ruina was the greatest contributor to his current state. As she drifted closer to him, he did as well with her, and he was half-tempted to just place his arm around her waist as they walked so they were closer. And yet, he was hesitant to look like he was clobbering the princess. So Ruina never had to worry about Enzo thinking she was clingy in any way, since he himself was worried of coming across that way.“Yes, Riden and I are close. He was the one who taught me pretty much everything I know. He defied my father's objections for me, trained me and protected me when the men of the army would belittle and talk about me. Even though I was their princess, they found it ridiculous to have a women within their ranks." Enzo’s eyes flickered between Ruina and the path, but his small attentive smile didn’t waver as she spoke. It was always to hear people speak of something they’re either vastly passionate about, or something they love. And coming from Ruina, Enzo found every time he managed to get to talk about something she loved, it made him love her even more. Although he did think about the last thing Ruina said. What’s ridiculous to Enzo is for men deciding women have to prove themselves just as able, or more, then them. Enzo was certain women were already much scarier than any man could be. While he couldn’t lie about the female soldiers of Ritha being treated similarly, when Enzo did catch it, he was quick to reaffirm every serving Rithian is an equal, regardless of gender. In fact, one of the few people Enzo had ever personally knighted was a woman. She certainly gave the men a run for their money, in terms of skill, personality, and squashing their bull headed egos. When a female stands at 6”5 though, it's safe to say most men automatically feel inferior. Even with Enzo being a bit taller, he had to physically look up to that female soldier. But in terms of female idols -and idols in general-, Enzo would hands down always say Ruina is his. All around, she was just an amazing person. As a princess, a warrior, a superior, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a girlfriend… and many other things, Ruina was just great. Definitely a woman Enzo is proud to have the hand of, and that would never change. "By the time I was fourteen, I was proving each and everyone of them wrong." Enzo did chuckle at hearing that accompanied with the smirk she had. “I don’t doubt that in the slightest.” He smiled, but that was a very Ruina thing to him, and very easy for him to picture. A fourteen year old Ruina well on her way to becoming the warrior princess he knows now. "Riden was the father Aelrindel never could be. He played the father role better and more than Aelrindel ever did. I owe him my life, and I would lay it down over and over again to protect him." In an odd way, hearing that comforted Enzo. Knowing how Ruina and her father are now, it was nice for him to know that she did find a better fatherly figure to have, a positive one at that. What made her happy, made Enzo happy. “Riden definitely seems like a positive fatherly influence.” Not something I got from your dad. Enzo wouldn’t openly disrespect her father -he was still her father- but Riden did seem better suited for the role than Aelrindel. As Ruina perks up, that infectious energy spread to Enzo as well when they came to the gates. The wereleopard did watch her grab the small spare key, and waited eagerly but patiently until Ruina ushered him inside. And immediately, he was welcomed by sights and the scents of varying plants. “Welcome to the Gardens of Truhan. My mother's greatest pride and joy, besides my brothers and I." A look of awe, similar to the one he had for Ruina’s sword in her room at school, crossed Enzo’s face as he took it in. When he was done engorging on the view, he looked back to Ruina with an ecstatic smile. “This is amazing.” He said, glancing back to the plants. "I can't wait to show you what we call the Water Area." Only then did his brows furrow slightly. “Water Area?” He questioned, hesitating before coming to her side again. Now he doubted it was a full on pool, let alone anything he would have physically get into. It’s a garden, not a swimming center. It was certainly irrational to just generate a multitude of fearful ideas surrounding water, but he couldn’t quite help it either. What was calming though was being beside Ruina, and getting to look over the plants he passed. Occasionally he would slow down though, just to better inspect or gently run his fingers over leaves and petals of the plants. “How many species do you think you have here?” Enzo asked, glancing to Ruina with evident curiosity. If it were anyone else that had drug Ikaris by the ear, he would have slapped, bit, kicked, or generally just attacked whoever had the audacity to touch him. That was his fighting instinct though, but he would never do that to Thaola. Ikaris would never intentionally hurt someone he cared about, not even when he’s in a fit of rage -or when someone was dragging him by the ear-. Ikaris makes it a habit to not actually fight with anyone in his immediate friend group, for several reasons. One; he respects everyone. Two; Ikaris’ rage can get the better of him, and he would never want to say or do the awful things he’s capable of to a friend just because he’s angry. Three; his friends are all he has, and burning bridges with them would seriously level him. Outside of Enzo, Ruina, Thaola, and Tarron… Ikaris had no one. Acquaintances maybe, but he tethered no bonds with anyone else. Not his inattentive and passive-aggressive father, certainly not his absent mother, and well he was an only child too. "Alright, whatever you say, birdie." Ikaris held himself haughtier, with a proud smile. Damn right whatever I say. Would he intentionally start a problem? Not unless someone looked at him like they wanted one. Or they said something to irk him, which would only be a handful of things that would bother Ikaris enough to retaliate. Ikaris was also tempted to tease Thaola more, pick at her to see if she liked to eye any of the barrack boys in uniform. Ladies love a man in uniform, so Ikaris has heard, but he’s never been in one and has done rather well in the female department if he does say so himself. "Guess you'll have to find out the hard way." Oh, the smirk Ikaris gave Thaola was one of warning. Do you hear the pun in that I do, kitty? Too late, Ikaris was going to comment anyway. “That’s what he said.” Ikaris managed to get out, before laughing at his own insert. Come on, it was a perfect set up. Once they made it to the door, Ikaris rocked back and forth on his heels while lightly swinging his arms. Personally Ikaris would have just barged in, doing a catcall of a whistle just to make anyone indecent, uncomfortable and frantic in getting themselves together. That was funny to Ikaris. Maybe he’d throw in a few towel snaps for fun too. Once Thaola pushed the door open though, Ikaris’ eyes analyzed the interior as he stepped inside. The color theme was mostly what Ikaris appreciated, but he also liked the neatness and organization. Call the bird OCD, but no one’s ever seen a real Ikaris freak out until one has witnessed his spaz attacks when things in his room are out of place. Gods forbid his color coded clothes are out of code as well. "Welcome to the barracks." Ikaris smiled at Thaola before allowing his eyes to sweep over the barracks again. “I love it,” he said, and compliment aside, the wereeagle rubbed his hands together. “Now come on kitty, I didn’t come here just to gawk.” Ikaris smiled mischievously before he began walking through the barracks. While if this were Ritha, the bird would be seeking any visible items worth value that a soldier mistakenly left out. Of course, in another kingdom he wouldn’t steal, but why not move left out items to another bunk? “You ever mess with these guys? You know, flirt, move their things, stuff like that? ” Ikaris had slowed, as well as leaned closer to Thaola to whisper that question with a small smirk. Of all the people he expected to have a little fun with mischief in the barracks, he assumed it would be Thaola. And naturally the bird was always interested in hearing how to successfully mess with others.

Despite Ruina being the youngest and furthest away from taking the throne. She had helped her brother, Revalor, plenty. Well, as long as the king wasn't around. Mainly with things that considered Truhan's army, and things like battle, stragedy, etc. Revalor and Ruina planned a lot together, and when they put their minds together. They were incredible. Ruina was hoping Revalor would take over the throne soon, she was getting tired of her father trying to control her life. And when he was no longer king, he would have even less control over her. She'd admit that she would love to rule with Enzo, mainly to just be with Enzo. But she'd probably admit it shyly.
A small smile flickers across Ruina's face as Enzo too drifted closer. Every word she spoke was true, she loved Riden as though he was her real father. Their bond was powerful and there wasn't anything Ruina wouldn't do for Riden. At least she was pretty sure, if she really thought about it, there were probably one or two things that she wouldn't do for Riden. But that was because it went against her morals, and she never went against her morals. No matter what. Well, unless it saved lives. There were pros and cons and certain things that affected Ruina's morals, but for the most part. They were completely set in stone.
Once Ruina had joined the army, she'd opened ranks for women. Who had just as quickly proven themselves worthy. Now Truhan's army had just as many women as man, well, close. Ruina had put an end to the sexism and made it clear what would happen if she ever caught anyone putting down someone else for their gender. She proclaimed that each and every women within the army had proven themselves worthy to be in the army. Not that they had to prove it, but they did. Ruina made it very clear that she was not afraid to make Truhan's army only female and refuse entry to any man. That had also shut the men up quickly. Most of her women were better than her men by a lot. Ruina had actually assigned many of her women to the most important tasks. Like personal guards for her families, among other things.
Ruina did not believe she had a set idol, as she admired many people. Riden, her mother, her brothers, Thaola and Tarron. Sometimes Ikaris when the wereeagle wasn't annoying her to her bones. And of course, Enzo. She just adored and loved him, and thankfully, not in the stalker-ish creepy way. As a prince, a friend, a son (even if his parents didn't appreciate him, she did), a boyfriend, and of course there was more. Every second Ruina spent with Enzo, she just found herself falling even deeper in love. Which, honestly, she didn't even realize was a thing. But she was not complaining in anyway.
"I don't doubt that in the slightest." Ruina smiles at Enzo,"My men don't doubt the prowess of me or any women." She chuckles slightly,"Let's just say the first time I ever heard someone being sexist, they had a very very harsh day." There had been a lot of punishments that day, along with the day after. Ruina was not okay with sexism, and had made that clear among her men. "Riden definitely seems like a positive fatherly influence." Ruina agrees,"He is. I am lucky to have him as such. I'm sure I would have turned out much worse without him." I fear I would have turned into a mini Aelrindel. Those words almost came out, it was one of her biggest fears, was ending up like her father. Becoming someone who lost the love of her family and friends.
Ruina watches Enzo, a smile on her face. She was glad he was enjoying the gardens. They truly were the greatest pride and joy of the Queen, though Ashera would assure her children that they too were her greatest pride and joy. The siblings would often joke though that Ashera did love her plants more than her children. Anytime the Queen heard that joke, she'd tease back that plants never argued back, so they were easier to be around. "This is amazing." Ruina chuckles as she allows her grey gaze to examine the gardens, she used to play in here when she was young. "I am glad you are enjoying it. My mother would just adore you even more if she knew how much you love plants." Ashera was already loving Enzo, but if the Queen heard the wereleopard adored plants? Ashera would tell her daughter to never let Enzo get away. Never. Ruina walks alongside Enzo, not examining plants and leaves as closely as the wereleopard, but allowing her gaze to roam. "How many species do you think you have here?" Surprise flickers through her grey eyes, that was a great question. "Hmm, only my mother would know the exact number. But last I heard we had at least one hundred different species within the gardens. No doubt Mother has found and implanted more. You should ask her at dinner." Because Ruina had never been too into plants, she didn't keep up with that kind of stuff. Though she did show interest when her mother wanted help. She owed Ashera that much, besides she liked to know about the things her family enjoyed to do when they were not doing royal duties.
Thaola couldn't explain why her first idea had been to grab Ikaris by the ear and drag him. But yet, she'd done that and dragged him away. She wouldn't apologize, but she wouldn't make it a habit to do it again.... Maybe. Thaola didn't really do real violence with her friends, hell she liked chaos and mischief, not violence. So, of course, she mainly kept her hands to herself unless it really needed some physical actions. Which was thankfully rare. Though the werelioness was well aware that words cut deeper than actions. And Thaola had a sharp tongue. And she certainly did not want to burn any bridges with any of her friends, especially Ikaris. So hopefully she hadn't offended him too much by dragging him away by the ear... In front of people.
Thaola was partly hoping the wereeagle would start something. It would give her a chance to see how well the soldiers were shaping up on controlling their emotions. Not to mention, if something did go down, Thaola would find it very amusing to watch. She was eyeing some of the soldiers, yes, mainly the ones who were still in uniform. Like most women, she liked a man in a uniform... Something she would admit. And even though she was a solider, and relationships and things like that was forbidden outside of personal time, she had no issue with flirting with the men. Ruina often turned a blind eye anyway, finding it amusing to watch at least a dozen men trot after Thaola. Though she never meant any harm when she flirted. "That's what he said." Thaola sighs, she did set herself up for that one.
"I love it." Thaola nods,"As do the soldiers. They claim it's very comfortable and homey." Which had been the idea. If the soldiers were going to be living there, not all the time, they might as well have somewhere comfortable to be. Somewhere were they can relax and not feel bothered. Though the soldiers did usually go to their own homes as well. Unless there was an immediate danger that required them to remain near the castle and their commander. "Now come on kitty, I didn't come here just to gawk." For the first time, Thaola hesitated when it came to discussing causing mischief. Truhan was facing a threat, and Thaola didn't really want to mess with anything....
"You ever mess with these guys? You know, flirt, move their things, stuff like that?" Thaola shrugs,"I've done plenty of flirting, yes. Sometimes I move their things. But honestly, I don't stay in the barracks, so no. I don't really mess with their things." That didn't mean she didn't cause mischief. That just meant she didn't cause mischief within the barracks. Just out during practice, and as long as it wasn't too bad and obnoxious, Ruina often turned a blind eye. Might as well make practice a little interesting. Instead of the same old boring training.

Enzo probably wouldn’t be discussing the topic, and the future with Ruina, for quite some time. It’s one thing to entertain the ideas, but it’s very much another to actually discuss it. And the wereleopard didn’t want to jinx anything so soon. Besides, he had plenty of time to enjoy what they were and what they had now. The present was very much enjoyable for him right now, so at least while he had the ability to enjoy it, worrying about and discussing the future could wait. Although of course Enzo would be warmed to hear -eventually- that Ruina was open to that kind of future with him. There’s very little Enzo wouldn't do for those he cares deeply about, although his morals are just as concrete as they are flexible. It's more so due to his ability to adapt to varying situations, so his morals will bend where they need to as well. The wereleopard also doesn’t believe in simply black and white, so his views and sense of morality adjust a little bit to the world that tends to be a bit gray. Of course, he knows right from wrong very well. And more often than not he can easily determine whether he needs to base things by ruling with his heart, head, or both. Ranks had always been open to women in the Rithian army, although there just wasn’t always a big turnout of women enlisting. Not because the atmosphere is poor, in fact there’s probably more hazing with all the soldiers than there is sexism. If anything the smaller force of women gave the men a run for their money, kept them motivated to keep up, and quite frankly it was amusing to watch the camaraderie and well meaning rivalries. Of course where it mattered there were no friendly challenges, but pushing each other to excel certainly proves beneficial in training as Enzo has observed. Truth be told, Enzo doesn’t admire many people. Not because others aren’t worth admiring though. Certain ancestors, Ikaris, and Ruina are really the only people he’d consider up to par for candidacy in the idol department. Which they all are his idols. For various reasons they all were held on these pedestals. And of course it’s only natural Ikaris idolizes himself, and that sense of ego Enzo finds oddly admirable, and admonishable. But Ruina above all else he thought higher of, and that’s not just boyfriend bias -maybe a little- but it’s not unfounded. He loves her for everything she is though, and more and more everyday with everything he’s been getting to see from her. “My men don't doubt the prowess of me or any women. Let's just say the first time I ever heard someone being sexist, they had a very very harsh day." Enzo smiled, shaking his head lightly. “I pity sexist jerks.” Especially ones you come across. Of course Enzo contemplated saying that out loud, but he chose to omit it. The wereleopard has certainly never even contemplated anyone being more or lesser, well, except in politics and rank. But that was different. “He is. I am lucky to have him as such. I'm sure I would have turned out much worse without him." Enzo glanced to Ruina, but he stayed quiet. He could have said something cheesy along the lines of her turning out great anyway, but he might as well space out his cheesy comments so they don’t grow old. Regardless of what influenced Ruina to be who she is now, Enzo was just thankful to have her. Enzo could probably say he did enjoy plants as company a fair share more than he enjoyed most peoples company, and exactly for the reason that they didn’t spew drama, gossip, or generally annoy him with meaningless conversation. Perhaps he annoyed them though, then again he would like to believe that in fact speaking to plants did help them grow. “I am glad you are enjoying it. My mother would just adore you even more if she knew how much you love plants." That was something Enzo was able to smile at. “Well if your mom loves plants as much as I do, then she’s so much cooler in my book now than she already was.” He chuckled, but it wasn’t a lie. The wereleopard already thought Ashera was a great person, let alone a great mother from what he’s seen and heard. She’s probably the most kindred mother he’s ever met as well, albeit Enzo usually doesn’t go around meeting people’s mothers. But he has at least his own, Amber’s and Ikaris’ to compare Ashera to. And Ashera exceeds them all by a very, very large margin. "Hmm, only my mother would know the exact number. But last I heard we had at least one hundred different species within the gardens. No doubt Mother has found and implanted more. You should ask her at dinner." Enzo was already finding it difficult to not examine the plants he had little knowledge on, while priding himself in tallying up the names and information he already had mentally stored with an abundance of the ones here. “That’s incredible.” he said, in regards to the number of species. Of course Ritha had quite the abundance as well, and varying sections for plants with varying habitual needs. “And I’ll definitely be asking your mother as well.” He smiled at Ruina, but now that the door was open to talk about plants, well he’d probably have a great time talking about all things plants with Ashera. Quite honestly it’s difficult to offend, or even humiliate Ikaris in front of people. Only because the only opinion that really matters to him is his own, so if he’s not abundantly upset by something -even if others are- it just doesn’t bother him. The things that do end up sticking with Ikaris though are always fairly random, which is why it’s always difficult to tell what will spark him. For example; most days Ikaris wouldn’t think much of it if someone declared they didn’t like the color blue, and yet one wild day he might take great offense to that and start a fight on why blue is the superior color. Of course he had more of an issue with keeping hands to himself though… whether just being curious of people’s belongings, playfully being hands on, aggressively throwing hands, and provoking others. Everyone has a couple flaws though, right? Ikaris just found women’s attraction to men in uniforms amusing. It’s like a universal guy thing to pick up on that, a lot of them even strive to be in uniform just to pick up on women, and yet Ikaris didn’t find the allure. Conform to a uniform style everyone else wears? Nope, the wereeagle will dress any damn way he so pleases. If chicks don't like it, whatever. As long as it's good enough for himself, then it’s good enough to grace the eyes of the masses. Except of course his birthday suit, which is “crude indecency” so he’s heard when it comes to wearing it outside of personal spaces. Haters tend to hate, but Ikaris knew everything he had from top to bottom, inside and out, would fail to disappoint anyone. "As do the soldiers. They claim it's very comfortable and homey." Ikaris chuckled, sweeping his gaze over the barracks as he did so. “Well that’s good to hear. Only a bitch of a soldier would whine about their circumstances, although it doesn’t look like there’s anything here for anyone to whine about anyway. Unless some soldiers miss their mommy’s.” Ikaris smirked, purposely sending a wink to a soldier as he did so. Ikaris was certainly projecting his voice too, not exactly striving to push someone’s buttons though. The threat Truhan was facing had already long since flown over Ikaris’ head, but the wereeagle can only focus on so many things at once before he gets distracted and hyperfixates on other things. Apparently this applies to threats terrorizing kingdoms too. "I've done plenty of flirting, yes. Sometimes I move their things. But honestly, I don't stay in the barracks, so no. I don't really mess with their things.” Ikaris wasn’t satisfied by that answer, not completely anyway. “You don’t have to stay in the barracks to have fun. You can always pants someone and run. Dump rodents in, bugs in pillow cases, sneak a few goats in the middle of night into the barracks and get them to scream. Stuff like that, it’s easy fun.” Ikaris shrugged, but he’s never allowed much to stop him from having fun. If anything, obstacles motivated him to pursue mischief even more. “Truhan soldiers may be good at combat, but fashion statements? You guys need to seriously sit down and have a pep talk with them.” Ikaris commented to Thaola, giving a mild face of disgust to a soldier that must have just changed out of uniform, and was now the subject of Ikaris’ snarkier tangents. “Because that guy's shirt is so loose it could fit him plus two other people at once. Not to mention the color, gross, it looks like pomegranate red and cow manure brown had a baby, and that ugly color was the offspring. If Truhan soldiers seriously have the confidence to walk around in stuff like that and think it looks good, they might one up me in ego. Because I wouldn’t be caught dead in clothes like that.” The wereeagle wasn’t trying to purposely offend, but he couldn’t help but vocalize his observations and opinions. It comes so naturally out of his mouth though that he doesn’t think it’s offensive, although judging by that soldier’s face, it was probably taken that way. “You keep being you though.” Ikaris smiled at the soldier as he kept walking, as if everything he said prior to wasn’t absolutely offensive and took aim at this soldier’s clothing choice.

Ruina would be delighted to hear that Enzo wanted her to rule beside him. Perhaps not so much of the ruling, but the idea that he wanted her beside him. To ask someone to be their Queen? It was a big thing, at least in Truhan. In Truhan, King's and Queen's were together for life. They ruled side by side, and by traditions it bound them together. Most of the time, it worked, didn't meant there was much love. But it worked. Rare times it worked and the love remained. Ruina just hoped that if they did end up being King and Queen together, the love would last. Ruina really didn't want to fall out of love with Enzo, and she prayed he wouldn't either. Ruina was one to follow her morals pretty damn close, however, in the heat of a moment she may change it briefly. Kill one to save thousands? Without hesitation. She was not one for killing anyway, regardless of the situation. In war she was a fierce and feared warrior, but she was no killer. She aimed to knock out, or injury, but never to kill. But to protect someone she loves? Those claws would be at a vital organ quickly. If there was one thing everyone knew about the werewolf, it was that she would protect those she loved without any hesitation. The people she loved; her brothers, her mother, Riden, Ikaris, Thaola, Tarron, and of course, Enzo. They were her everything, and there wasn't a damn thing she wouldn't do for them.
Everyday she got to spend with Enzo, she found herself not only falling deeper in love with him, but admiring him more and more. Without Amber being a pain in the ass, well so far, he seemed happier. She was getting to see him, and not someone who was getting burnt out on almost everything because of a bitchy girlfriend. And every day, Ruina was getting gladder that she'd put Amber in her place that day. Had that spurred Enzo's separation from Amber? Possibly. But, despite the guilt and horror at herself for getting so close to snapping. Ruina was glad that she had put Amber in her place, and without a doubt, the werewolf would be happy to do so again. Especially when it came to Enzo, Ruina would never let Amber near Enzo again.
"I pity sexist jerks." Ruina laughs slightly,"Let's say I sent them out on the sea with nothing but the clothes on their backs." She shakes her head,"They had to survive on what they got from the ocean. Lucky for them, the ship I sent them on had nets and hooks for catching fish. Then a water purifier, and they slept below deck." Had she probably punished them too harshly? Maybe. But she didn't regret it. When Ruina sent another ship to retrieve them, they'd fallen back on the dock at her feet, begging for forgiveness. Swearing on their lives, on the gods, on anything and everything that they were sorry and they would never be sexist again. That they understood that women had every right to be the army as well, and could be just as fierce.
Ruina could understand why people loved plants, but it had never been something she was really into. She would admit, however, that she had spent her fair time within the gardens. Sometimes when her father, or her soldiers, got to be too much for her. She'd escape into the royal gardens, and roam. It was quiet and peaceful within the gardens, and it helped relax her. "Well if your mom loves plants as much as I do, then she's so much cooler in my book now than she already was." Ruina chuckles,"Considering all of the plants were brought in by my mother, with help of course, and cared for by her. I'd say, she loves plants." Ruina muses,"Pretty sure she could name off every plant inside the gardens." Ruina could brag about her mother all day, she loved her dearly after all. And the werewolf had no issues bragging about those she loved.
"That's incredible." Ruina grins,"Just wait until we get to the water area. All of those plants? Mom brought them from underwater. I have no idea how she did it, but she has found a way to keep them alive above water." It was truly incredible how Ashera had managed to keep the plants alive, considering they were suppose to stay underwater. And the plants looked just as beautiful as they do underwater. "And I'll definitely be asking your mother as well." Ruina smiles back,"Mother would love that." Ashera really would, her children were never much plant lovers like her, so she didn't really discuss them much. Mainly because the Queen knew that while her children would listen and try and be as interested as possible, they just had no interest in plants.
Ruina perks up a little as they turn the corner, the water area was just ahead. She truly hoped Enzo would like this area, it was by far her favorite area. The stream that ran through and branched off into smaller streams. Then of course the streams ran through the rest of the garden. Then the different colors of plants, they were of course shades of blue, green, coral, and a darkish purple. It was truly magical how the plants were still alive. Ruina just hoped that after her mother, the gardens would be kept well. By someone who knew what they were doing, after all. None of the royal siblings knew how to care for the gardens. Ruina slows down to a stop as they enter the water area. Gesturing,"And here's the water area of the royal gardens."
Thaola did find men in uniforms attractive, but that didn't mean she only liked men in uniforms. She'd seen plenty other men who looked very attractive and who were not in uniforms. Hell, she'd seen quite a few who were in the weirdest and most disgusting clothes, and yet they still looked attractive. It was never really about clothes and styles, though it helped, it was always more about looks. Though deep down, if Thaola was too actually get a boyfriend, what she really wanted was someone with a good personality. In terms of a real and actual relationship, it was never about the looks for the werelioness, it was always about the personality. After all, there was no point of dating someone who was attractive as hell, but rude and mean as shit. She wasn't looking for an abusive or neglectful relationship either.
"Well that's good to hear. Only a bitch of a soldier would whine about their circumstances, although it doesn't look like there's anything here for anyone to whine about anyway. Unless some soldiers miss their mommy's." That last comment did evoke some glares, but none of the soldiers made any move to get up from their spots. Thaola shrugs,"Ruina doesn't like whining and complaining, so there is never any. Any new recruits learn quickly whining is not tolerated around here. Let's just say Ruina runs a tight ship around here, and Riden runs just as tight of one." Ruina and Riden were one in the same when it came to being Commander of the army. Of course, Ruina did learn everything from Riden, so no doubt they'd be alike.
"You don't have to stay in the barracks to have fun. You can always pants someone and run. Dump rodents in, bugs in pillow cases, sneak a few goats in the middle of night into the barracks and get them to scream. Stuff like that, it's easy fun." Thaola raises an eyebrow,"Hmm, trust me, I've played plenty of pranks on them. But honestly, I never have much free time when I'm in Truhan." That was true, Thaola had a lot more free time on her hands at school, hence the reason she loved to cause so much mayhem at school. Since she didn't get to as much at home since she, Ruina, and Tarron were always busy. Con of being part of the royal family, they were always running around doing something.
"Truhan soldiers may be good at combat, but fashion statements? You guys need to seriously sit down and have a pep talk with them." Thaola shrugs,"Tell that to Ruina, they listen to her more than me." She wouldn't deny it though, she'd seen how many soldiers dressed when they were out of uniform. "Because that guy's shirt is so loose it could fit him plus two other people at once. Not to mention the color, gross, it looks like pomegranate red and cow manure brown had a baby, and that ugly color was the offspring. If Truhan soldiers seriously have the confidence to walk around in stuff like that and think it looks good, they might one up me in ego. Because I wouldn't be caught dead in clothes like that."
Thaola shakes her head, sighing, was there seriously nowhere in Truhan where Ikaris didn't offend someone? No doubt he wasn't doing it intentionally, but still. At this point, if Ikaris got jumped, Thaola would just stand and watch. Of course, she'd cut in before major damage was done, but still. "You keep being you though." Thaola's green eyes flicker to the soldier, and she gestures towards the door. The meaning was clear, go. Then she turns and follows after Ikaris, only half amused. And barely annoyed. This was going to be a long trip home. Hopefully Ruina had something fun planned, that would keep Ikaris away from people. That way he didn't offend anyone, intentionally or not.

It was certainly an equally mutually big thing in Enzo’s world -and Ritha- for a royal to secure a relationship strong enough for them to ask their partner whether or not they were willing to take the step of ruling with them. Or not. Enzo was only factoring two things into his choice of Queen of Ritha though; does his counterpart care just as much for him as he does them, and will they be a suitable and capable individual in terms of ruling. Easily, Ruina was a green light for both of Enzo’s factors. He loved her, and felt the love and care he had towards her was reciprocated. And if he was asked, Enzo didn't believe it was possible for them to fall out of love, ever. So the wereleopard was more than confident in their love for one another. And second, Ruina was the exact kind of person Enzo would respect as a ruler, and therefore he had no doubt in her ability of being his Queen. For certain, regardless of flexible morals, Enzo knew he was no purposeful killer. Not unless it came down to defending his own life, the life of someone he cares about, or the lives of mass innocents. But even then, he couldn’t even imagine the guilt he would feel for knowing there was a life reaped by his hands. Call it weak, or a flaw, but he couldn’t understand how not taking something’s life wouldn’t weigh on people. Animals, of course for food, he silently thanks for their sacrifice to ensure his survival. Perhaps one of his disadvantages is having the ambition to see a battlefield to say he fought alongside his own people or loved ones, and yet he’s never really known what it’s like to live through something beyond spars in controlled environments. He’s never felt the fight or flight one would get when something is actively pursuing taking their life, so in some sense, Enzo was naive. Some lives aren’t even taken in battles, but it’s a dangerous statistic Enzo has used to base his ambition on. It sounds cliche, but since Enzo has had Ruina to call his own, it feels like he’s really living. Every breath, waking moment, everything… visibly he’s enlivened. Life is more enjoyable when you’re loving and being loved simultaneously. Enzo looks forward to waking up every morning, and knowing when he does fall asleep, he’ll get to wake up and start another day with Ruina. He even sleeps less compared to when he did when he was with Amber, but Ruina really has gifted him with the energy to want to stay awake and live as much as he can around her. For sure he knew after what happened with the fight between the two in class whose side he was on, which was Ruina’s, and that’s how he knew he couldn’t stay with Amber even if it was simply out of petty spite. In the end, he wanted to be happy, and he found that with Ruina. Of course, the wereleopard was sure Amber wasn’t finished, and she wouldn’t just release something she was still psychotically in love with, but Enzo wasn’t going to let Amber get her way in terms of him ever again. "Let's say I sent them out on the sea with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They had to survive on what they got from the ocean. Lucky for them, the ship I sent them on had nets and hooks for catching fish. Then a water purifier, and they slept below deck." Enzo blinked in mild surprise, but he could see how that was definitely an efficient way of getting a lesson through someone’s head. “That sounds like my personal hell. You make me very glad I have an abundant love for women… some more than others.” Enzo smirked to Ruina, throwing in a quick wink as well before he turned forward. If Enzo were stuck on a boat for longer than 48 hours though, he was absolutely confident he would die of a heart attack. After multiple panic attacks. So it wouldn’t be the water or food situation that would kill him, just the constant panicking. But the likelihood of him ever having to be on a boat was really slim, wasn’t it? So he didn’t bother worrying about it right now. “Considering all of the plants were brought in by my mother, with help of course, and cared for by her. I'd say, she loves plants. Pretty sure she could name off every plant inside the gardens." Smiling as Ruina spoke, just looking at the plants was how Enzo could tell they were greatly loved and cared for. They just had that glow that resonated how healthy and upket they were, which Enzo doubted anyone other than plant lovers would notice. It was certainly unique to have his love of plants in common with someone else… Amber tried getting into plants actually. She says she loves them, and yet Enzo is pretty sure she’s killed every single one she’s tried to care for. That was probably his biggest red flag from her, by far. “Just wait until we get to the water area. All of those plants? Mom brought them from underwater. I have no idea how she did it, but she has found a way to keep them alive above water." Enzo certainly looked impressed, but anyone who braved water for any reason was someone he assumed was worth being impressed by. He wasn’t even sure if his love for plants would coax him into water, so lucky for him he’d get to see them in at least a safe garden space. He’d probably ask Ashera how she managed to safely transport the plants, although he assumed a gentle green thumb was really the key to her success. "Mother would love that." Giving Ruina another smile, Enzo could for sure say now that he was looking forward to talking with Ashera again. He already liked her so much better than his own mom, and he hasn’t even known her for a full day. Parroting Ruina’s energy in perking up, he straightened his posture with an excited anticipation of what he would be getting to see next. Enzo’s eyes carefully scanned what he and Ruina came to a stop at, and even before Ruina could welcome him to the water area, he was already engorging his sights on it. "And here's the water area of the royal gardens." Taking a few more steps forward, Enzo’s eyes trailed over each and every uniquely colored plant. Some colors Enzo assumed were strictly only to be seen in aquatic plants, which is what made it all the more fascinating to him. Plus, he was getting to safely look at water species of plants, so that’s a win! “They’re all so beautiful. Those botany classes and descriptions in lessons at school really do the actual plants little justice.” Enzo commented as he strayed a little from Ruina just to slowly walk beside the plants as he studied them with his amber eyes. Ikaris had quite a lot of ideas about what was attractive. Himself, obviously, being the most attractive thing in all of Ioana of course. So naturally he appreciates beauty in others as well. Considering he doesn’t actually ever have the intention of committing to anyone though, personality is something he overlooks. It’s not like he gets attached anyway, so pretty faces suffice for him. However, if he had to sit down and actually think about what he wanted out of someone, there were a few things. One, no uggers. He is openly vain, so to have a really, really beautiful person inside, and yet an unsightly person on the outside? Shamelessly it’s a no go. It’s not mean! You’re supposed to love all of who you’re with, right? Ikaris knew what he would and wouldn’t be able to tolerate, so at least he won’t be toying with feelings or leading innocent victims on just to know he’s planning on ditching them sooner or later. But beauty, brains, and humor. That’s all he would want out of someone. The problem is finding someone with all of those qualities, who can also successfully get him to overcome his fear of commitment. As a free spirit, he can’t feel like he’s caged by someone, or he’ll turn and run. “Ruina doesn't like whining and complaining, so there is never any. Any new recruits learn quickly whining is not tolerated around here. Let's just say Ruina runs a tight ship around here, and Riden runs just as tight of one." Ikaris nodded, switching his gaze absent mindedly over a few faces as he walked with Thaola. “I don’t know many people that like whining or complaining. Except for Amber’s parents, and boy does she have a whiny personality only a parent could love.” Ikaris chuckled, but the wereeagle wasn’t wrong there. Which made it all the more funny to him. He doubted anyone that knew Amber though would disagree with him there too. "Hmm, trust me, I've played plenty of pranks on them. But honestly, I never have much free time when I'm in Truhan." Ikaris gave a look of mild sympathy, but having little free time to be mischievous? That’s definitely something he’d mourn over. “I have plenty of free time in Ritha, probably a little too much. But then again, when you’re only expected to be trouble, then I’ve noticed not a lot of people throw responsibility at you. Or at least in my case.” Ikaris shrugged. Act like a nuisance and get treated like one kind of thing, but Ikaris was shamelessly himself. Nuisance and all. Maybe next group trip Ikaris could try and get the Truhan’s over to Ritha. At least with him around, the King and Queen of Ritha will actively try and shoo him and whoever accompanies him out of the palace… which means more time for fun! "Tell that to Ruina, they listen to her more than me." In that case, Ruina was getting an earful about her soldiers sense of style. It was just heartbreaking to see so many grotesquely dressed individuals. Or at least in Ikaris’ opinion they were, but he tends to be either absolutely ruggedly-renegade stylish, or flashy. One or the other, always. As for offending the people of Truhan, it's bold for anyone to assume that’s where his skill of offending the masses ends. Out of anyone, he would be able to find a way to offend the entire continent. Which Ikaris already had an idea of how to do it, but there were some things he never really shared. Like his iffy belief system in religion. The wereeagle was certainly not impious, and wouldn’t bash or denounce people of religion. Because Enzo is one of those firm believers, but Ikaris just had a hard time… yep, committing. Ikaris only slowed and threw a raised eyebrow over his shoulder att Thaola’s interaction with the soldier he not-so-politely critiqued. But once Thaola was with him again he continued. “How do you do it? The whole separating responsibility and work, and fun. You’re more like me when it comes to mischief and fun than most, and yet it perplexes me that you can set that aspect of yourself aside.” Ikaris said, which was something off the top of his head that he ended up vocalizing versus thinking about. It did pique his interest though, simply because he didn’t understand it. It takes so much focus and energy for Ikaris to be serious, which is why that side makes such a rare appearance. So what was Thaola’s trick? Did she have one, or did it come naturally? If it came naturally to her though, then Ikaris was screwed in learning that skill.

Ruling terrified Ruina. It was something she was scared she would screw up. Despite all the lessons, Ruina was not sure she would ever be a fair ruler. But then again, wasn't commanding an army kind of like ruling a kingdom? Ruling in a different kingdom scared her as well, what if she messed up? She was already an outsider. And messing up would not help anything. She was meant for a battle field, not a throne room. But, Ruina would happily lead beside Enzo. She would without hesitation, because she knew that he would help her. Guide her and make sure she didn't mess up. Because ruling was not something that had ever come easy for Ruina. Leading her warriors were definitely different, and while there were similarities. There were more differences.
Taking someone's life was very guilt-weighing. Hell, Ruina still felt guilty about what happened in sparring class against Amber. She'd almost struck again when the werefox was down. She had been pushed to her snapping point, and she'd almost crossed it. If Ruina had gone further, she would have realized, and been so ashamed of herself. No doubt, she'd drop out of school and return home. Sulking in her room, burden by the shame. If she could feel such shame and guilt by doing something like that to someone like that. Imagine how she'd feel if she killed someone else, especially someone who didn't deserve it. Hell, she'd be so guilty she'd starve herself to death. She'd hole up in her room and never come out. She had no idea how people could ever take someone else's life. It was too much for the werewolf to even think about. Call it her fatal flaw.
Ruina had never felt so excited to wake up and start the day, not even on her best days. Yet, since she and Enzo had become official, she enjoyed waking up. Knowing she'd get to spend the day with her best friends, and of course, Enzo. However, to of course dampen the mood, Ruina knew she couldn't just forget about Amber. The werefox was still there, and no doubt still head over heels for Enzo. And undoubtedly pissed that Ruina had essentially taken him from Amber. She knew how much Amber was obsessed with Enzo, and that kind of obsession was dangerous. There was no telling what Amber would do.
"That sounds like my personal hell. You make me very glad I have an abundant love for women... some more than others." Ruina half blushes, half smiles. "I don't take to certain things very well. People who whine and complain, sexist people. I don't mean to torture... I just.. make sure they know what not to do." She states, trying to explain herself. She wasn't trying to put her soldiers through hell. It just so happened that her methods were a lot... harsher? Than most. She tried not to be a monster when it came to punishments, but after all, she was still her father's daughter. And she couldn't always help it. She'd never directly put her men into danger though. She knew her men could survive when she sent them out on sea. She knew there were nets and water purifiers on board, as well as shelter. That didn't make her a monster, right?
Since Aelrindel and Revalor took care of pretty much every royal duties, nowadays, Ashera didn't have much too do. So the Queen spent a lot of time in the gardens, tending to the plants, and just being around them. She would admit to a select few that every plant had a name. Which had started becoming difficult, so Ashera just started naming plants whatever came to mind first. Of course without the servants, the garden would have been impossible to take care of at such a size. So Ashera greatly appreciated the servants, personally thanking each and everyone that helped her. Ruina liked plants, she just wasn't an enthusiastic, She could understand the lure, and the love. But it was just never something for her. She would happily sit and listen, and chime in, when her mother would talk about plants. And so, she would happily do the same exact thing for Enzo. Though no promises if Enzo gifted her a plant, she'd be able to keep it alive. She would surely try though!
Ruina had the same look on her face the first time her mother had told her that. Bringing underwater plants above water, and keeping them alive? That was incredibly impressive. Ruina had spent her fair time in the water, and so she still couldn't figure out exactly how the plants were still alive. Ruina now knew without a doubt that Ashera and Enzo would get along famously, and that made the werewolf very happy. Her mother's opinion was something that mattered dearly to her. And to have her boyfriend and mother like each other, well, that made Ruina very happy. Aelrindel? The king didn't like much these days, so Ruina was long over his opinion. And she'd repeat that again and again to anyone who listened. The next task was Ruina's brothers. They didn't dislike Enzo, but they didn't exactly adore him yet. They were still neutral.
"They're all so beautiful. Those botany classes and descriptions in lessons at school really do the actual plants little justice." Ruina agrees, a grin on her face. "This specific area is the pride and joy of everyone within the Truhan castle." Ruina's smile fades slightly,"Well, except my father of course." She quickly moves on, not really in the mood to discuss her father, especially not anymore that day. "Mother is simply head over heels in love with this area. Even my brothers and I love it, and we are nowhere near the plant lovers you and Mother are." Ruina had found both Revalor and Ayduin within this area more times than she could count. It was not something that could be explained, but the area was just a place that one could enjoy being in. Too relax, think, or just be there.
"I don't know many people that like whining or complaining. Except for Amber's parents, and boy does she have a whiny personality only a parent could love." Thaola scoffs,"That ain't no lie." Worry fills her eyes briefly,"It does bug me that she hasn't done anything since her and Enzo have broken up. Especially since she's learned that Enzo and Ruina have gotten together. No doubt the bitch has something planned." She shakes her head,"And of course, I have no doubts that Enzo and Ruina will be able to withstand whatever Amber throws at them. But the werefox really needs to give up. Both Enzo and Ruina deserve to just enjoy life. Which they seem to be doing very well together."
"I have plenty of free time in Ritha, probably a little too much. But then again, when you're only expected to be trouble, then I've noticed not a lot of people throw responsibility at you Or at least in my case." Thaola glances at Ikaris,"When I was welcomed into the royal family, I got duties. They couldn't just have a stray child running around doing nothing, could they? So, the duties have just been something I have adopted, and I have no issues doing them." She sighs slightly,"I do miss having free time. I'd love to play more pranks and jokes on people." Though definitely not at this time, not with the threat looming over Truhan.
In terms of visiting Ritha, none of the Truhan's would complain. They would love to explore more places, and of course, Ruina would love to see Enzo's home. Though she'd be worried about his parents. What if they didn't like her? While Tarron would no doubt stay with Thaola, to allow Ruina and Enzo more time together. While Thaola would stick with Ikaris, no doubt looking to cause as much mischief as she could, without getting in trouble or kicked out. Ruina, and Ashera, would not be happy with Thaola if she got herself kicked out of another kingdom. Ashera would no doubt lightly scold Thaola, while Ruina would simply chuckle and shake her head. Knowing Thaola just couldn't help herself, and it was just unlucky that she got caught.
"How do you do it? The whole separating responsibility and work, and fun. You're more like me when it comes to mischief and fun than most, and yet it perplexes me that you can set that aspect of yourself aside." It was not something that came naturally or easily, it was something that Thaola had learned to balance. Especially once she'd started going to school, where she could really allow her mischievous side to surface. But, of course, Thaola had spent years defining the line, and knowing when and where to stay behind it and when to step out it. It helped she could read social cues, and so she knew when and when not to. She still had her issues, and sometimes she read things wrong, but that was expected. Nothing could ever be completely perfect.
"Finding the middle was hard. It took me years to find the line, and to know when to be on a certain side. Ruina and Tarron helped me a lot, as did the Queen and Prince's. They played a major part in helping me know when and how to separate responsibility and fun. I've also found how to mix it." Thaola shrugs,"I suppose it also helps that I have a great deal of respect for Queen Ashera, so I do my best to not disappoint her." Probably because Ashera was the only mother Thaola ever knew, and the Queen had treated her incredibly well. The werelioness felt like she owed the werewolf Queen her life. And Thaola would do anything and everything to repay her debt. That was what made Thaola serious, what made the mischievous Thaola disappear.

There wasn’t much of a fear embedded into Enzo when it came to ruling. He’s quite literally been prepped for it the majority of his life, so all there was now was to enjoy his time left as a prince before the transition was made. And Enzo had every intention of guiding Ruina with a gently helpful hand when it came to ruling as well if that’s where the future placed them. It’s not as if he imagined Ruina ever making critical mistakes, mostly because he would be there to oversee everything vastly important. The wereleopard did imagine though that Ruina might gravitate towards the decisions and supervising of things pertaining to the army, and that he wouldn’t have any protest with. Life-taking was not something Enzo has ever heard anyone say they do so comfortably. Not even soldiers. As if thinking about killing someone wasn’t enough, Enzo always thought about who would be affected by that life being gone. Were they a son or daughter, sister or brother, mother or father, how far would the ripple of a death extend? Even bad people had families of some sort, most of the time. It’s hard not to think about the effects one person's actions can have, and Enzo especially as Enzo thinks about how his own actions could change a lot of people’s lives as a future king. Enzo’s never had to worry about losing out on quality time with friends, after all Ikaris was practically always lurking somewhere in the case Enzo desired to have fun with a friend. It’s different having a girlfriend he can be with and go to, and genuinely overall enjoy. Ruina is everything Enzo could have ever wanted. So what did the wicked witch have in store? Would Amber carefully devise ways to get what she wants back, or would she just ultimately lose it? Amber has never been good with being told ‘no’, or being denied what she wants. What if she just loses it completely? Amber’s always gone after Enzo’s belongings in his room when she’s mad, who's to say she won’t do that with him gone right now… or worse, Ruina’s room. Leave it to a fox to find a way into someone’s room, but Enzo was hoping that wouldn’t be the case. "I don't take to certain things very well. People who whine and complain, sexist people. I don't mean to torture... I just.. make sure they know what not to do." Enzo gave a nod of understanding. “I wouldn’t call it torture, it’s more like… tough love.” He said, glancing at Ruina to see whether that was a term she could agree with. But that’s how Enzo could see it. She did care for her soldiers, she just wouldn’t tolerate rude or sexist behavior. Thus, tough love. She gave them the tools they needed to live off of the boat though, Enzo would have considered it torture if it was just an open boat, and nothing but them on it. "This specific area is the pride and joy of everyone within the Truhan castle. Well, except my father of course." Enzo flickered a small smile to Ruina as he neared, but spoke in a gentler tone. “Some people can’t appreciate the great things they have,” he said, in reference to her father, “they’re loss, and more for us to enjoy then.” He beamed to smooth it over. It didn’t surprise Enzo that Aelrindel wasn’t overly fond of the gardens, and quite frankly he wasn’t sure what the king was genuinely fond of. But Enzo wasn’t really intending on getting to know the king well enough to find out. "Mother is simply head over heels in love with this area. Even my brothers and I love it, and we are nowhere near the plant lovers you and Mother are." Peering into a space to better look at a few smaller plants, Enzo turned his head slightly so he could still respond. “It’s hard not to enjoy spaces with plants in my opinion. And I’d like to think they enjoy people’s company too.” He said, continuing his slow paced walk. “Plants are just quiet friends if you think about it. They’re great study buddies, available to vent too, and thrive off of proper care. Similar to most, if not all, people and animals… they just so happen to lack the ability to communicate vocally, or move much. But they do communicate, you just have to know what you’re looking for when they do.” Enzo more so explained, glancing at Ruina briefly. It’s true in his experience though. Everything from the roots to the leaves communicate, most often in distress, but subtle things about plants express when they’re thriving. It’s always made Enzo appreciate them more though, because they’re silent creatures. They thrive in silence, and struggle in silence as well. So all the more reason he finds it so important to care for them. “That ain't no lie." Ikaris gave a nod, but when he turned his eyes to Thaola he noticed the worry in her own eyes. “It does bug me that she hasn't done anything since her and Enzo have broken up. Especially since she's learned that Enzo and Ruina have gotten together. No doubt the bitch has something planned." Now that Ikaris steadfastly agreed with. “Oh, I’m sure she does.” He said, and Ikaris would bet everything he had on that. “And of course, I have no doubts that Enzo and Ruina will be able to withstand whatever Amber throws at them. But the werefox really needs to give up. Both Enzo and Ruina deserve to just enjoy life. Which they seem to be doing very well together." That, Ikaris also agreed with. “She won’t just give up though, not while knowing Enzo is something she can’t have, I know that much about Amber. And Enzo and Ruina do seem really happy together, so I guess Ruina has earned my blessing when it comes to dating my bestie.” Ikaris smirked to himself, but he liked to think his approval was worth something. “When I was welcomed into the royal family, I got duties. They couldn't just have a stray child running around doing nothing, could they? So, the duties have just been something I have adopted, and I have no issues doing them.” Ikaris has never really gotten around to asking about what came before Thaola was so quickly integrated into the royal family. If he had to guess though, it probably wasn’t a favored topic, so he wouldn't touch on it. “I do miss having free time. I'd love to play more pranks and jokes on people.” Ikaris did give a small chuckle though. “At least you can say you played me already today, in the palace. I was pretty sure for a few seconds that you were possessed by the ghost of a servant host in there.” He smiled at her, but it was kind of like a joke to him. Funny haha, let’s see how many different people Thaola can be. See? Funny, and therefore it’s similar to her having acted out a joke. Enzo, personally, would not quite look forward to any of the Truhan’s visiting the royal palace of Ritha. Ritha itself is a beautiful place, full of wonderful people and places. The palace? Mm, not so much. It’s not teeming with a lively energy, and while the palace itself is absolutely marvel worthy, a chiller air blankets the place. King Saxon would probably only like Ruina if he saw that their relationship was advantageous to him, but Queen Annika? No, she would not like Ruina. Which wasn’t really offensive, considering she has quite the specific set of standards for people she does like. And not even Enzo is one of those people, so the standards are just not worth even striving to reach. So Enzo would redirect if they were ever there. Enzo would love to show off the palace gardens too, and of course, there were plenty of other fun things Enzo would try to rope the Truhan’s into doing. But any of them being kicked out was low, after all, not even Ikaris has been so much as escorted off of the palace property. Even when he should have. "Finding the middle was hard. It took me years to find the line, and to know when to be on a certain side. Ruina and Tarron helped me a lot, as did the Queen and Prince's. They played a major part in helping me know when and how to separate responsibility and fun. I've also found how to mix it." Ikaris was actually fully listening in interest as Thaola spoke. But hearing someone else struggle and overcome it made him feel as if it was possible for him to find a middle ground too. Maybe one day? It’s difficult for Ikaris to change though, even when he wants to. "I suppose it also helps that I have a great deal of respect for Queen Ashera, so I do my best to not disappoint her." Ikaris gave a light scoff before muttering under his breath, “Imagine not being a disappointment.” Ikaris couldn’t even count how many times he’s disappointed everyone in his life, and he’s disappointed them all at least once. Sometimes intentionally though, but that would be his petty nature.

If Enzo did ask her to become his Queen, she would of course accept. As long as nothing happened, though she had no doubts that they would remain together. But, she would ask Enzo if she could remain over the army, it was where she was at her strongest. She knew the most in terms of the army, she didn't know as much about ruling. She knew more about commanding and training an efficient and respectful army. No doubt if Ruina became Queen of Ritha, she could whip the army into good shape. Not that the Ritha army was bad, just different from what Ruina was use to. Would she train them to fight on the sea as well? Perhaps not, since that was more of a Truhan thing.
Ruina had met a few people who had enjoyed taking other's lives. They had been mentally sick and people who killed others for fun. In return, Ruina had punished them to living in the dungeons for life. And many died because they were just driven so insane. Ruina had tried to find as much help as possible, but sadly, many of them could not be helped. They were just so messed up in the head. Thankfully, Truhan soldiers (if not all soldiers, or most everyone) had morals and none enjoyed killing. Causing someone else death was never something anyone should be comfortable with. It was cutting someone's life off when it was still in full swing. How was that right? Ruina did worry that Amber would do something incredibly bad. There was no telling what the werefox was capable of. All Ruina knew was that the princess of Iprihan was bad shit crazy. And someone who needed a lot of mental health help. Ruina could definitely hook the werefox up. She knew people, and honestly, Ruina hoped that Amber wasn't too far down the crazy road. But somehow knew that Amber was just... gone. Would this action, Ruina and Enzo getting together, be the thing that made the werefox snap? Lose her mind? And what would the King and Queen of Iprihan do? What were they willing to do for their daughter? Would they take revenge on Amber's behalf? Would they at least attempt it?
"I wouldn't call it torture, it's more like... tough love." Ruina thinks on that, before nodding. Tough love. She liked that better. At least she had made sure that the punishments were never dangerous in terms of losing their life or a limb. She made sure that they always had supplies and shelter. She just gave them harsh punishments that would push them to make sure not to break rules. Or be rude. It was not honorable to be rude and arrogant, or sexist. She was just glad that Enzo did not see her as a monster, even when he had seen her at one of her worst moments.
"Some people can't appreciate the great things they have, they're loss, and more for us to enjoy then." Ruina returns Enzo's smile, he wasn't wrong. But it still hurt that her father did not enjoy much anymore, and that they fought so much. The gardens were beautiful and it was terrible that such a peaceful and beautiful thing could not even bring a pint of happiness to the king of Truhan. Ruina wasn't even sure what made the king happy anymore. Something that didn't do with the crown or the throne. Something relaxing, like horse-back riding, walking, nature, the docks, the seat, something besides the crown. "It's hard not to enjoy spaces with plants in my opinion. And I'd like to think they enjoy people's company too." Ruina smiles as she follows after Enzo,"My mother would agree quite readily."
"Plants are just quiet friends if you think about it. They're great study buddies, available to vent too, and thrive off of proper care. Similar to most, if not all, people and animals... they just so happen to lack the ability to communicate vocally, or move much. But they do communicate, you just have to know that you're looking for when they do." Ruina nods, he loved plants like she loved animals. Ruina also found it adorable and sweet that he had such a fondness for something. He was so passionate about it and Ruina would do her best to learn things about plants. She'd do her best to show as much interest in plants as she could, and not just to fake it or so Enzo would like her, but simply because Enzo loved plants. "You love plants like I love animals."
"Oh, I'm sure she does." Thaola nods, glad that Ikaris agreed with her. Did those thoughts also plague Tarron? Or did the werewolf not really care? No doubt he cared, especially since it involved Ruina, but the werewolf surely didn't show it. "She won't just give up thought, not while knowing Enzo is something she can't have, I know that much about Amber. And Enzo and Ruina do seem really happy together, so I guess Ruina has earned my blessing when it comes to dating my bestie." Thaola rolls her eyes slightly, but shakes her head. "Clearly Amber is not truly in love, in terms of normal sanity." Amber was in love alright, just in the insane and weird way. No way was Amber sane in anyway.
"If Amber truly loved Enzo, she would let him go. Especially if Enzo is happier in his new relationship. That's true love. Knowing when to let go, and when to hang on." Thaola sighs, shaking her head. Stupid bitch. She was really so desperate to be with Enzo, who clearly wanted nothing to do with her. Of course, Amber was the kind that wanted something and if they didn't want her back, she just wanted it more. That much was clear, especially when it came to Amber chasing after Enzo. Literally everyone could tell the wereleopard never truly loved or even liked Amber. And yet the werefox was desperate to have the wereleopard all to herself.
No, life before living with the royal family was not a favored topic. It was a harsh life and Thaola owed the family her life, because no doubt Thaola would probably not be alive. Or being doing something incredibly stupid and soul draining. Thaola would say it time and time again. She owed her life to the royal family. "At least you can say you played me already today, in the palace. I was pretty sure for a few seconds that you were possessed by the ghost of a servant host in there." Thaola shakes her head,"I wasn't possessed." She teases him back,"I just know what manners are and how to use them." She winks at him,"Manners make good impressions, and good impressions can get you a lot of things."
If Enzo told Ruina any of that, that Saxon would only like Ruina for the advantages she'd bring. And Annika would not like her at all, Ruina would admit that it kind of sounded like her family. Well, at least, Enzo's parents reminded her of her father. Aelrindel would only ever like Enzo if he brought advantages for Truhan, however, the king would most likely never truly like the prince of Ritha. Which was fine with Ruina, the werewolf was really pushing to kicking her father out of the palace as soon as her brother became king. Thaola would love to cause some mischief within Ritha, since she never really could within Truhan. Ruina would happily go with Enzo anywhere, she'd love to explore Ritha, especially with him. Thaola would demand a tour from Ikaris, throwing it in his face that she'd given him a tour, and it was time for him to repay the favor. Tarron, as usual, would just go along with the flow.
"Imagine not being a disappointment." Thaola shot Ikaris a look,"Are you kidding? The king despises me and Tarron. He only tolerates us because of Ruina. He knew she'd throw an absolute fit if he even dared to try and throw us out. He never talks to us and when he does, it's to scold us." Thaola shakes her head,"Tarron and I have gotten to the point where we no longer care." Her green eyes sharpen with seriousness,"Here's some advice, Ikaris. If you disappoint others, don't care. Just know that there are people out there that care for you, truly care, and that is all that matters." This was a topic Thaola had thought very hard on. "Because if you allow other's people's opinions to get into your head, then you become what they think of you. If you believe you are a disappointment to someone, then you'll become it. If you refuse to believe it, well, then they can't bother you so much anymore. Most people who bully and insult, they are just looking for a rise. They want a reaction. Don't give them one."

It was already an attractive idea to entertain in terms of already placing Ruina, as the potential Queen of Ritha, as the overseer of the army. Logistically, that being Ruina’s primary focus if they were to rule together made the most sense to Enzo. She had actual battle experience under her belt, whereas he’s only had extensive training. Even between now and his coronation, he doubted he would get actual battle experience. So actually having Ruina as Queen would eliminate his fear of not being able to properly support his army due to his own lack of experience in that department. And if Ruina just so happened to try and ever train Rithian soldiers on sea… well it would probably be more entertaining to watch seems as how that is definitely not really a realm any Rithian soldier is familiar with. Not even in Enzo’s experience in running the dungeons has he actually come across individuals with a literal blood lust. Odd justifications for murder? Yeah, he’s seen that. But people who sickly enjoy slaughtering? That would be a new one. Even though he’s never met someone like that before, he imagined they would remind him of children that enjoy killing bugs. Not that children killing bugs makes them sickos, but that lack of remorse for ‘squashing’ something lesser than them is a trait he would imagine he would see in a killer that enjoyed their practice. There probably wasn’t a soul that would disagree about Amber needing some help in the mental department. Maybe Enzo should start an anonymous petition to get her help, because he certainly wasn’t putting together an intervention. Because if he did something like that and made it known, that would make Amber think he’s still secretly in love with her and cares, and that’s the exact opposite of reality. Enzo has seen variations of Amber’s snaps, but he doubted he was familiar with the storm that would be coming after this calm period. Which is exactly what this is; the calm before the storm. And there was no telling who Amber’s snap would be limited to, but personally Enzo was anxious of Amber trying to go for Ruina, or pulling a psycho move and trying to do something grotesquely malicious to him. Or targeting them both. Either way, it wouldn’t be pretty. For certain as long as the King of Iprihan was still hanging on, then no drastic measures would be taken on other kingdoms. If he succumbs to his illness though, Amber’s mother being solely in charge was terrifying. "My mother would agree quite readily." Well then, another good talking point in Enzo’s opinion. It’s always been a rare treat for Enzo to find people as passionate as he is with certain things. The wereleopard did enjoy talking about things he loved, it's just not everything he liked to talk about was something anyone else cared to listen to. Enzo didn’t mind, not everyone wanted to hear about plants, so he substituted by talking to his plants about how much he adores them. There were just some things Enzo didn’t have anyone to openly talk to though. Of course there’s always Ikaris, but to no fault of his own he’s burdened with a short attention span. Enzo never gets to talk more than royal matters with his parents, combat with his trainers, what he needs accomplished in his absences with servants, attendants, and advisers. So it certainly is rare for him to openly discuss the little things he’s passionate about. And he never wanted anyone to fake liking what he did, so he just usually didn’t openly talk about his interests so no one felt they were expected to enjoy what the Crown Prince did. "You love plants like I love animals." Enzo glanced to Ruina and smiled. He could offer her the opportunity to talk about animals anyday, because he knows what it's like to get excited to talk about things one is passionate about. And yet, it would be sweeter if he could get her to talk about something she was passionate about organically. Like when he got to hear the details surrounding the sword in her room, that was something he enjoyed hearing about. Enzo doubted there was much that would ever come out of Ruina’s mouth that he wouldn’t enjoy though. “You know, being surrounded by all these plants reminds me of our budding romance.” Enzo smirked, taking a walk back to Ruina slowly while still looking between her and the plants. But she is in trouble now, because he was lined up with an arsenal of plant puns. “I think the fact that I’m coming to love you a lily more each day is a good sign. We both certainly took a leaf of faith that night in the hallway with our confessions too. But I’ll never regret that stuttering mess I made of myself, because what we have now is unbeleafable. And I’m really rooting for us to make it.” Enzo finished that assault as he came to stop in front of Ruina. “You tend to make my heart skip a beet, and because of that, aloe you vera much.” He finished -for good- before leaning down to kiss her. Can you believe Amber never found his plant humor charming? Not even when he offered to talk dirt to her. Okay, now he’s done. "If Amber truly loved Enzo, she would let him go. Especially if Enzo is happier in his new relationship. That's true love. Knowing when to let go, and when to hang on." Ikaris nodded in agreement, although he did chuckle. “Love is different for everyone though, and means different things too. In Amber’s world, what she has is the purest form of love for Enzo, and in another life her extreme devotion to something she loves is almost an admirable quality. But in this life, it’s just pathetically psycho.” Ikaris said with a light shrug. To someone like him though, devoting oneself entirely to something so greatly is a quality he admires in others, because he himself doesn’t really tie himself down to anything. He’s loyal to Enzo above all else, and the other Truhan’s of course are placed beneath the wereleopard on Ikaris’ hierarchy of loyalty, and that’s really all Ikaris is concretely devoted to. "I wasn't possessed. I just know what manners are and how to use them." Ikaris placed his hand over his heart and gave a dramatic gasp to make a show of playful offense. “Manners make good impressions, and good impressions can get you a lot of things." The wereeagle smirked before deciding to continue his mild theatrics. “Well if that’s the case my dearest Thaola,” Ikaris spoke while reaching for her hand and raising it enough so he could lean down to kiss it, “then allow that to be my first good mannerable impression on you.” Releasing her hand and giving a cocky smile, he raised a brow next. “Now, what do I get in return for my good manners, hm?” If good impressions are the result of good manners, and good impressions are supposed to get him things, then he was merely putting to the test what things his manners would get him. Not that he expected anything anyway, which was what he was expecting to prove to her; that manners wouldn’t get him anywhere, nor would good impressions. If there were to ever be a planned trip to Ritha, then Enzo would disclose what to expect from his parents long before he took Ruina to meet them. Just so the lack of warmth was something she wouldn’t be too bothered by. It didn’t bother Enzo, that’s all he knew to expect from his parents, but he didn’t like the idea of that treatment being given to Ruina. Which is why of course Enzo would show her things beyond the palace. The piazza in Woodlark was always a beautiful place to visit, especially with the grand fountain in the center of it surrounding the statue of a leopard. There was a makeshift zipline even that Ikaris and Enzo had managed to construct together in a more secluded area in the wilderness on top of a cliff. It’s safe enough, as long as no one frantically flails. Although before the fun beyond of the palace, Ikaris would no doubt have a blast being the worst tour guide ever. It would give him an excuse to journey places he’s not typically allowed, not to mention the palace catacombs structured beneath the castle that run under most of the capital -and a few places outside of the capital- would be fun to show off. But it's pretty easy to get lost in those tunnels, so the tour down there would be brief. "Are you kidding? The king despises me and Tarron. He only tolerates us because of Ruina. He knew she'd throw an absolute fit if he even dared to try and throw us out. He never talks to us and when he does, it's to scold us. Tarron and I have gotten to the point where we no longer care." Ikaris silenced as he listened to Thaola, which was a miracle, since usually he would have something to mutter. But in this case he had no smart remark lined up as her eyes took on a serious light. “Here's some advice, Ikaris. If you disappoint others, don't care. Just know that there are people out there that care for you, truly care, and that is all that matters. Because if you allow other's people's opinions to get into your head, then you become what they think of you. If you believe you are a disappointment to someone, then you'll become it. If you refuse to believe it, well, then they can't bother you so much anymore. Most people who bully and insult, they are just looking for a rise. They want a reaction. Don't give them one." Well Ikaris wasn’t expecting a bout of advice, but he did quietly accept it. He almost made a joke about her advice sounding like being in denial, but that reaction would have been more of a personal deflection. “Have you ever looked into being an inspirational speaker or something? I think you’d be good at it. You’re a natural born hype woman.” Ikaris smiled, with his humor being his way of thanking her for the advice. It’s not easy for him to delve into topics surrounding what could potentially touch on emotions, because gross, but he wasn’t disregarding what Thaola said. He just had a different way of processing than most people. Maybe it’s a quirk, or a flaw, but that’s Ikaris. “Hey, do you remember when me, you, and Ruina were talking about getting those matching tattoos for the group? I got in touch with that tattoo guy at school, but you know, I’ll have to jump through a few financial hoops with him. So because I’m cheap, what do you think about the alternative of getting them done here in Truhan? You think everyone would go for that?” Ikaris asked, but it was kind of a nice opportunity. The group was all together off school property, so who would tell them no? Besides, a professional might be a little more trusty than a guy at school too. But Ikaris just wanted to throw it out there while he remembered it.
