Sergio looked at Hannah confused. He was expecting to see the black haired girl he was with the night before. Quickly putting on his clothes, he went after her. "Hannah." He called, before stopping. He was lightheaded. He cursed, moving at a slower pace.

Following where he'd seen her go, he stopped at the entrance. Questions circled in his head. Walking over he leaned against the counter, his head in his hands. He didn't even know where to start. "We didn't do anything did we?" His voice was muffled. He rubbed at his face, tiredly.

Once again he didn't want things to get messy between them. It would just complicate their game. It was easy to assume that. When two people get drunk things are bound to happen. Although, she didn't seem like she had a hangover. See looked at ease, far from what he was feeling. He groaned, scolding himself for getting so damn drunk last night.

He almost didn't want her to explain how he ended up here. He would probably just cringe. He didn't know how to feel about this entire situation. He was just so confused. He cursed aloud, as new questions swirled his head, "Fuck. I didn't wreck my car did I?" He groaned at the thought.

Hannah turned to him, glad he finally had some clothes on. It had been rather awkward, if he had been sober, she was sure he would have agreed with her on that. She chuckled, a part of her wanted to totally mess with him but that wouldn’t be fair on him. He genuinely couldn’t remember, he’d need to know what actually happened, but there was no harm in having a little while she was at it. “Oh not of course not, you only confessed your undying love for me” she teased, flicking her hair over her shoulder.

Of course, one of his first thoughts was about his car, it didn’t surprise her really. The level of defence he had when she drove it he first time proved her point further. Hannah wasn’t dumb enough to get drunk around people like him, it wouldn’t end well for either of them, that was for sure. Handing him a plate, she rolled her eyes. “Your car is fine, it’s out the front if you don’t believe me” she went and sat down at the table with her phone and a plate of food in front of her. Nibbling on a piece of bacon, she checked her phone. Classes had started 10 minutes prior, she had a few messages asking where she was.

“so, you want to know what happened last night? Because if your face didn’t give me enough ammunition to bully you, you certainly did last night” Hannah teased, cocking an eyebrow at him.

Sergio watched her for a moment, with narrowed eyes. Rolling his eyes at her comment. "Sure." It just hand to be Hannah that potential watched over his drunk ass, last night. She would probably never let him live this down. He would probably get over it in no time though. That is if it wasn't completely cringe worthy to hear what he did. Although, he was relieved he didn't wake up in a holding cell. Knowing his antics when he's sober, he's probably ten times as worse if alcohol is in his system. He owed, Hannah that much, if she did in fact look after him.

Glancing over to what he assumed was the front door, he let out a breath of relief. He believed her...Sort of. He'd see for himself in a minute. He didn't plan on staying long, just wanting to hear what she witnessed him do.

Looking down at the plate, he glanced back up to her. Why was she being this nice? The last thing he expected was to be treated like this by Hannah of all people. He would have expected her to be pissed at him, or something. Rolling his eyes again, he walked over to her at the table plate in hand. Sitting down across from her, he eyed her warily. Did he say something to her when he was drunk, that was possibly incriminating? He sure hoped not, he didn't need more prison time. He went a good 2 years without going back. That excluded jail time, however. At least thats how he looked at it.

Glancing at her for a second, he nodded. He wasn't worried about the embarrassing things he could have done, but the things that would get him in trouble. He didn't need that. Funny, any other person would be more worried about the embarrassing part, if they were in his situation.

Hannah watched him sit, before putting her phone down. It had been rather entertaining watching him make a fool of himself the night before, but that didn’t necessarily mean she wasn’t mad about it. Hannah just realized that she would have preferred that over waking up with the police knocking at her door. He knew things that would easily get them both behind bars, with their current records, she wasn’t about to risk everything just to be petty. She smiled to herself. Hannah was partly surprised he was even still here, she had half expected him to run off the moment he saw her, but it didn’t matter.

Starting at the beginning, she informed him of the night’s events, starting at the end of the race, when he was with that girl. Hannah assumed that was when he started forgetting things, pretty soon after that, he was driving around drunk, ten seconds away from driving straight into a tree. Soon she finished telling him what had happened. Hannah watched him carefully, keen to see his reaction. They both knew if she hadn’t helped him, he’d be either in a cell or likely dead, none of the three options were ideal, but she kind of needed him alive and not incarcerated for the next phase of their game.

Sergio was slightly surprised that she was even able to spot him in the crowd of people surrounding her. He didn't see the point in bringing up the part about him being with a girl. He could remember that. He didn't linger on that thought though. Carefully listening to what she had witnessed. After she finished, he couldn't help, but feel like she was leaving something out. Maybe it was just his trust issues. When people were drunk, they got loose lips. It was easy to slip up to the wrong person.

He didn't give much of a reaction, other than nodding. He took a bite of the bacon. He half wondered why she even bothered looking over him. If it were the other way around, he probably wouldn't stick around. They still seem like strangers to each other. Why would he take care of her? Of course, the only thing they held against each other now, was being witnesses of each others crimes. He looked at her with slight suspicion in his eyes. "Why are you being so-" He stuck his tongue in his cheek, looking for the word. "Nice." The game couldn't possibly be only thing that would make her do that. Him getting drunk, was his mistake, yet she took it upon herself to watch him. It made him almost have a new found trust for her, but at the same time there was doubt.

If one put the puzzle pieces together, something didn't add up. He wouldn't admit it, but it was an asshole move to start a rumor about them. Then furthering it. He might just be looking into it too much. Funny how this comes to mind just now, instead of when he first started the game between them. She could have easily turned him into the police. It was a risk that he took, without even thinking about it.

Hannah subtly left out the shower bit, it didn’t seem important and there wasn’t much point in bringing it up, he had been drunk, that was all. Besides, it’d be too much of a pain to try to explain why, because in all honesty, she didn’t really know either. Hannah had taken pity on him, she had known very well she could have cared less and just gone home but there wasn’t much point in letting him suffer the entire night and likely get them both thrown into prison when she could have just helped him and let herself forget about it later.

Hannah sighed, picking at her food. “Don’t flatter yourself, I had nothing better to do than babysit you, since you seem incapable of being responsible for more than five minutes. Plus, I needed an excuse to get out of classes today, I really wasn’t feeling like a fight today” she told him, trying to play it off as nothing. Hannah rubbed the back of her neck, looking down at her plate. She began fidgeting with the case on her phone, tracing patterns onto the thin rubber case that covered the back of it, the screen face down on the table.

Hannah didn’t want to linger on the subject, it was awkward enough having the memories of it, let alone attempting to explain it to him. Most of the night, she had been frustrated at his immaturity. Hannah had been gone for all of 20 minutes, maybe, and he somehow had gotten himself drunk. Yet, his ego for once didn’t seem to want anybody’s help, it was rather frustrating just to think about. Hannah got up, putting the empty plate into the dishwasher, before grabbing her phone and heading upstairs. With a second thought, she turned to him, “Your stuff is near the front door, along with your shoes. Stay, leave, whatever, I don’t really fucking care” Hannah told him before making her way up.

Sergio looked her over for a moment. He didn't like her answer. It sounded an awful lot like the last time he asked her to explain herself. She just made it sound like she did it out pure boredom. He didn't really know what he would have preferred for her to say. Once again she was walking away. He rubbed at his jaw in annoyance. It wasn't even about anything more, than his concerns. Which were maybe she had bad intentions.

Just because they were interested in similar things. That being committing crimes. Didn't mean he could trust her. He'd been doing these kinds of things for awhile. He has meet people, that didn't hesitate to rat him out. He probably wouldn't have been caught by law enforcement for some things, if it weren't for him trusting people that were clearly untrustworthy. Yet, it seemed like he still hasn't learned his lesson.

If he had seen something he shouldn't have, then he would keep his mouth shut. Even if he barely knew the person. He wasn't not going to snitch because he was scared, but it was practically an unspoken rule among criminals. Before their game could go any further, he had to find a way for Hannah to prove herself. Of course, he didn't believe he needed to prove anything to her, because he knew he wouldn't say anything.

Hearing her last comment, he pushed away from the table. Not bothering to pick up after himself. He had no reason to stay here. Heading for the door he slipped his boots back on and gathered his things. Deciding he would distance himself from her, for a moment. He needed to figure out if this whole game was even a risk worth taking. Seeing as it was only going to get challenging from here, making the misdemeanors into felonies. He had to decide if he was willing to risk going back to prison. This time around they wouldn't go easy on him, seeing as he was eighteen now. Sure, they did try him as an adult at first, but it didn't last very long, as the judge let him out after a few months in prison on probation.

Closing the door behind him. He was relieved to see his car parked out front. Doing a quick once over, to make sure it hadn't been damaged. He climbed into the drivers seat. The car hummed nicely as he pulled into the street.

(Lol idk about the legal system. I'm trying to keep it somewhat accurate, but I don't think I'm doing it any justice.)

(It’s fine, I’m in the exact same boat with that situation)

Hannah went back to her room, grabbing her keys. She had been sent a message about a party, apparently celebrating her return to the racing game. There was no way she was inviting Sergio, still pissed at him for the night before. Sighing in frustration at the mess her room was in, she ignored it. Hannah needed some time to get her mind off things, a part of her didn’t even want to continue with this game, not because she didn’t trust him not to snitch, because he was too irresponsible about the things he was doing. If he wasn’t careful, he was going to land himself back into prison and he’d have nobody to blame but himself.

Hannah heard him leave, relief crashed onto her. She knew he likely didn’t believe the bullshit excuse she had given him, and he likely guessed at what was really going on. Hannah also knew he didn’t trust her, similar to how she didn’t trust him fully either. They’d need to figure out a compromise if they wanted to continue this game of theirs, otherwise, there was no point in bothering with it. Hannah wasn’t about to put herself into a situation where she was likely to get caught, especially not with Sergio.

Angrily, she got into her car, pulling out of the driveway smoothly. Checking her phone, she called her racing friends. Putting the call on speaker, she asked them about the party, hanging up after they told her they were on their way to it. The party was being held at an abandoned dock, it was the usual place for this kind of thing. The last time she had been to one of these, there had been well over two hundred people there. Everybody knew everybody, it was a pretty tight-knit community. If somebody was snitching, they’d all know about it within minutes.

Hannah got onto the freeway, there wasn’t any other cars on the road. Within seconds, she could see Bailey, one of her close friends in his car. Nodding at him, she pressed on the acceleration, hearing him do the same. The two of them flying down the road, slowing the tiniest bit as the turnoff came into view up ahead. Sharply turning the wheel, the two of them just made the turnoff, their tires drifting across the road. It had only been this way, Hannah and Bailey competed with everything they did, when it came to racing or driving, it was always Hannah winning, others were his strengths. It was all light-heartened fun.

Hannah could hear the speakers blasting music over her own. She watched people arriving from all directions, the cars spread all over the area. It was lucky that the dock was so huge, there was plenty of space for everyone’s cars, the main party area, plus a variety of private areas if you needed them, the freeway right next to them if they wanted a race. The two of them found their usual spots up the front. Almost at once, cheering could be heard, as people heard her arrival.

As soon as he pulled out of Hannah's place, he got a message from a family member, asking him to run some errands. Of course, he obliged. If there was people he didn't argue with it was his close family members. Well, most times. The school called them, telling them he didn't show. They mostly do that, as a way of saying he could be getting into something bad. It was annoying, he kind of liked when they threatened to expel him better. The stopped doing that after a while. It was irradiating to feel like you were always being watched.

At times it felt like Sergio was living a double life. In the day he was at school, acting like a normal student. In the night was spent partying, doing illegal things, and much more. Even his family doesn't know to the full extent how deep in this dangerous life he is in. To the point where he wouldn't be able to dig himself out. Having spent the day running errands, as if his head didn't feel like it would explode, he headed towards the one place he could find ease of mind. The shop. Parking his car out front he headed inside. It was dark out already. Seeing as he got wasted the night before, he wasn't about to do it again.

The night was humid, so he opened one of the garage doors. Sitting on a stool he got to work on a clients motorcycle. It was actually a guy he used to race bikes with. It was quiet, only the sound of wrench working, or other sounds of the sort. He must've been there for a good 2 hours when he heard a car door then footsteps. Looking towards the open garage he saw a hooded figure. Once they fully stepped into the light, he scoffed.

Turning back towards his work, watching the man from the corner of his eye. The guy laughed, "Long time no see, huh?" Sergio ignored him, shaking his head. "Pfft. The hell you want? Can't you see I'm busy?" He snapped at the man. The man stepped closer, Sergio watched him with cautious eyes. "Is that really the way to greet an old coworker?" He snickered.

Sergio turned to him, a glare on his features. He tossed the tool he had in his hand. It clattered onto the metal lift. "Fuck off Brett. I'm not interested in what you have to say." He snapped again. The man didn't look fazed by Sergio's outburst. The man glanced around the shop. "So the big bad killer got a real job? Got tired of being a hoodlum, was it?" The man chuckled. Sergio wasn't bothered by the man's taunts. "Spit it out Brett." His tone bitter.

Sergio glanced behind Brett, making sure the man was in fact alone. The last thing he needed was to get jumped. He was a good fighter, but if out numbered, it was a challenge. His eyes glances back to the tool cabinets. His eyes lingered on a specific drawer. He was estimating the time and distance it would take to get to that drawer, in case things turned bad.

Hannah smiled, making her way over to a small group of people standing aside. Her friends knew better than to immediately approach, rather than waiting for her. It was always difficult in these sorts of situations, when lots of people knew her and wanted to talk to her. She smiled, joining them away from the ridiculous blast of the speakers. The regulars to these events had their signature spots. Hannah was glad she had left her leather jacket in her car, it was her signature look in this environment. Thankful she had kept her makeup simple, a pair of dark lashes with eyeliner, it was a suitable but good look for this place.

Hannah shook her head at the offer of a drink, after the night before, she wasn’t going to go down that road. Pretty soon, she noticed Noah’s arrival. With a nudge from one of her friends, she turned back to the conversation in front of her. Sighing, Hannah noticed the conversation had steered towards the rumours about her and Sergio. “let’s not have this conversation now” she told them, a warning looks on her face. They took the hint and dropped it, but she got a few weird looks from Bailey. She’d have to explain to him everything later, minus the game of course.

Hannah nodded, waving to her friends as she made her rounds at the party. The sky had grown dark, huge spotlights lighting up the docks. Pretty soon, there’d be a race starting if there was going to be one tonight. These races were different, there wasn’t any bidding, it was just all for fun. Hannah was debating whether or not she’d participate if there was one. Chatting with a number of people, she was informed of the race within the next couple hours. Apparently, it was invite-only, between the Reigning Champions. The invitees were going to be informed by text within the hour. Which explained the nervous tension she could feel within the crowd.

Everybody knew a few people that were guaranteed an invite to compete, there was no way they’d throw a party about Hannah’s return to the race and not have her compete. A few others were a little too confident about their invites, she doubted majority of them would be invited. The ones who felt the need to brag about their confidence in themselves to everybody were the least likely. These events were usually for seeking out the years’ top competitors and the wild cards of the competition.

Pretty soon, the hour was nearly up, everybody had gravitated towards the main party section. The invites were about to be sent. They were told once they got their invite, to go to the sectioned off area for the reveal of the track. Almost at once, Hannah’s phone vibrated. Pulling it out, she checked the notification, smirking at the invite. The text consisted of her race line-up and current ranking. Not surprised she was on top of the leader board, placed in the front of the line-up, she saw majority of heads turning towards her. Nodding to her friends, she made her way over to the competitor’s section, resulting in a loud cheer from the non-competitors and a sigh from the other familiar faces she recognized making their way in her direction.
