Yenz's face was everywhere. I make a point not to look. I saw his face when we were friends. I wonder what he is up to now. I shove my hands in my pockets and keep moving. "SQUIRREL!!!" A dog barks. I wince.

There were no lights on inside, which was weird The light switch wouldn't work. I'll fix that sometime. He shrugged, heading to the fridge (as always). He had stocked it ten-fold when more of his outbreaks happened. That way he didn't have to stroll into the grocery store and risk seeing Kayla. Grabbed a half-eaten sandwich and pratically shoved it down his throat.

The park is quiet and warmer than the city. The entire world seemed to grow warmer. As much as I hated to admit it, I miss Yenz's laugh. The world is quiet without it. I stroll the path, trying not to think of what I ruined between us.

He trudded into his bedroom. Sticky-notes covered his wall, late-night notes about how he could get rid of his power. None of it worked though. Ever. He plopped down on the mattress and closed his eyes, the restless breeze roaring in his ear.

I glance around the park. The trees are just starting to turn. I finally shove Yenz out of my mind. I have better things to worry about. Do I go to the forest? No, probably not.
