Leap | F | Lead Dog 1 | Mentions: Echo, The Team (indirect), Keith (very indirect)
The wind whistled. It brought more snow, the flakes of white collecting all along her back and neck. The cold wormed its way through her winter-thick coat, nipping at her nose. At her back was the glow of the campfire, where her team had settled down to rest. But she hadn't. She was facing into the wind, some distance from the site, ears up and listening for any sounds beneath the quiet sounds of snowflakes hitting the ground. The wind whistled. It brought snow. It brought an unfamiliar scent, musky and sharp, from close by . It brought the sound of snarling and barking.
Her head jerked up. Her team—! With a twisting leap that turned her around, she hit the ground at a run, lifting trails of powdery snow into the air as she moved. She may have strayed farther than what was proper, but with the dancing fire as her guide, she made a beeline towards the camp. If she looked closely, there were dog-shaped figures moving around the flames. Moving, when everyone should've been resting.
Leap ran faster. Her ears strained forward, trying to catch any snippet of what was happening. Her heart beat fast, kicked into action at the prospect of unexpected trouble. Trouble when she had wandered to watch, wandered to search for danger. Stupid move. Beginner's move. As she drew near though, she saw the other dogs moving away, one walking out of the campsite. She abruptly slowed her worried sprint, throwing on the breaks and spraying a fan of powdery snow in front of her as she leaned back on her hind legs. Now moving at a slow trot, she could see the black-and-white coat of Echo walking away from the others.
The other dog didn't move with a limp, nor was there any sound or smell of trouble other than the stranger's scent, which now came strongly from near the fire. Leap lifted her head and parted her jaws in a wordless bark, meant to catch her teammate's attention and let her know that she was near. She then adjusted her course towards her, and closed the distance between them at a walk.
"Echo," She greeted her fellow Lead dog as she drew up beside her from behind, her back still crusted with white from the accumulation of snowflakes. She swept a glance around the darkness, trying to pick out any sight of movement, before turning her amber eyes towards the husky. She spoke again, her voice brisk but pitched low, and tinged with lingering concern. "That was quite a bit of noise a moment ago. There's now a stranger's scent on the snow. What exactly happened? Did anybody get hurt?"

Echo/F/Lead Dog 2/Mentions: Leap, Team (indirct), Wolves (indirect) She paused in her walk and looked up to see Leap the other lead dog on the team now next to her and appearing concerned. She couldn't blame the other dog since the chaos had sounded and now wolves could be scented on the ground. Then there was Echo herself leaving. "A young wolf snuck into camp after seeing the glow of the fire and got into a conflict with the others including Juno and Nonsai. I tried to calm everyone down. No one is injured except for a few nips though pretty sure the wolf got some bites on Juno though she didn't appear hurt and Tyke allowed the wolf to leave uninjured while some others may have wanted different but it was up to the Alpha Dog. Everyone should calm down but I'm heading out for a walk", explained Echo to Leap while holding a paw up. The husky didn't mind Leap and she didn't know if the other dog wanted to join her. While Echo was curious about the wolves however all she wanted was a walk to relax then return. "You are welcome to join me on my walk or you can talk to the others if you prefer. I think everyone is going back asleep now", offered Echo quietly.

Leap | F | Lead Dog 1 | Mentions: Echo,
As her teammate explained the situation, Leap remained silent. But her mind was working, thoughts shifting with every recounted word from the other female. That a wolf, of all creatures, had come into the campsite was strange, and worrying — weren't wolves supposed to be wary of humans and their presence? Even if their musher hadn't appeared, his scent and the fire should've been enough to deter something of the wild.
When Echo's offer came, she gave a subtle shake of her head to clear the running thoughts. She would think further of this situation later. For now, it seemed that all had escaped largely unharmed. A few nips is nothing, though she would check on Juno when she returned. If only to settle her concern.
"I think I will walk with you for a while, thank you." She responded, swishing her tail idly as she swiveled an ear to track some far-off sound. It was tempting to fall silent again, and leave the topic at that, but she felt that it was necessary to say more on the matter. Her preference didn't matter, not in the aftermath of an almost-fight in a place where the team was supposed to feel safe. She drew a quiet breath in. "It was... alarming to hear such things from camp. That I wasn't there in case of a threat."
Then she gave a more lighter glance to her teammate, not wanting her to feel offended. "But you were there, and you did good keeping it calm. It sounds like that was a situaiton that could've turned bloody easily. I'm glad to hear that there were no major injuries, and everybody walked away from it."
"I'm sure the wolf won't come back, too much danger." She added, looking away into the swirling night. Hoping that her words would be true.

Echo/F/Lead Dog 2/Mentions: Leap Her paws started moving again and her tail curled but her ears were alert despite the fact she was mostly trying to relax. She understood Leap's concern very well and wasn't offended that the other dog hadn't been there. "I just did the best I could to contain the panic of others. Sometimes we all need a level head. Besides you would have done great if you were there and I wasn't instead", said Echo to the other dog as the two walked. Her thoughts on the return of the wolves was something that concerned the black and white husky but she didn't say anything. "Let's hope not. Where one is then more is behind", mumured Echo thoughtfully before continuing, "So what were you doing out tonight? Scouting?" She scented the air hoping for something and narrowed her eyes at some tracks in the snow. The owner had been running from camp while everything had been happening.

Keith ~ M ~ Delta Wolf ~ Mentions: Nosoi(indirect), his brothers, the team(indirect) His ears pinned at his brothers' scholding. This was the last crap he wanted to hear. He didn't answer either of them and waited till they shutted their mouths before looking back at the camp that was now in the distance behind his back. He shook his head, his fur ruffling roughly from the movements. He lets out a sigh before he straightens up and walks past his brothers, towards home. Once the brothers got home he laid down on the rocky surface of their large cave. Even after his brothers laid down in their own areas all he could think of was the team. Mostly that tall-a** one. He couldn't remember completely but he thinks he heard that husky say the mastiffs name was Noah? Noso.... It was Nosoi. He stuck with the last guess all night. Maybe if he went back in the morning, if he got up early enough, he could follow them.

Glacier/F/ Team mate 6/Mentions: Open Alright so she had been so very stupid but she had ran and now she was lost. So she may have found some shelter but there was no fire or anything to warm her. She needed to get back to camp but she needed help. She curled up as she tried to block out the cold. That is what the others would do? Glacier kept a eye and her ears alert aware that someone would notice. She had been stupid. There was no sign of the flickering, glow of the fire. How far had she ran?

Niko | F | Teammate | Mentions: Echo, Keith, Dakota - After the wolf had left and everything had died down a bit, Niko finally relaxed though she was still somewhat uneasy. What if the wolf came back? What if someone was injured? She shook out her fur, not wanting to think about the awful possibilities. She was just glad everyone was okay and grateful that Echo kept everything calm. The snow was still falling, and her being far enough away from the fire, had a thin layer of snow clinging to her coat. She realized how cold she was becoming and slowly walked back to the fire side where she had been napping before that foreign canine rushed into camp. She scratched at her collar because i was getting slightly itchy on her neck and some snow fell on to her paws. She flicked her tail over her spot to attempt to clear some of the fallen snow. She walked in a couple circles before curling up in a tight ball with her tail over her nose and feeling the fire on the side of her face. She lifted her head again and looked over to where Echo had been, now walking off and where Dakota sat. She really wished Dakota would come back over so Niko could enjoy her warmth. Dakota sadly looked too deep in thought to Niko so Niko sighed and rested her head on her paws and tried to drift off to sleep again. Edited at December 28, 2025 09:57 AM by Tartarus

Nosoi | M | Wheel Dog 1 | M: The Team Nosoi slowly woke up from his rest, blinking rapidly to adjust his eyes to the brilliant light reflecting off of the snow. He stretched languidly, yawning as he did so. The mastiff shook out his pelt, sending the snow that had settled there overnight flying in all directions. It was another icy day, but clear, which meant that they probably wouldn't have to deal with any snow today. Excellent. Nosoi looked around at the still-sleeping dogs. There seemed to be someone missing again. Eugh. If they had to delay the plans for today just to track down a teammate who decided they were better than everyone else and could just set off on their own- He sighed, sitting down. It didn't look like the musher was up yet, so he'd have to wait for breakfast. The male sat by the remains of the campfire, wondering about what they would be doing today. Hopefully a long trip. He needed to clear his mind after yesterday, and what better way was there other than hard work running through snow whist pulling a sled? He hummed softly, gazing up at the pale sky as he waited for the rest of his team to get up.

Glacier/F/Team Mate 6/Mentions: Echo, Leap, Team A yelp came out of her as she found herself being dragged out of the shelter and on the snow yet she felt soft fur. Ah it was morning and someone had found her but she had a feeling who it was. A quick look showed yes. Echo had left, found her and was dragging her back to the team. Glacier didn't see the point in struggling especially when after a some time they came across Leap. She wasn't trying to annoy the team by running off but at least she was safe. Her tail was let go resulting in the white husky quickly realizing that she might be in trouble especially since her paw print from last night was right next to Echo who could be annoyed. Apparently it was either up to Leap or the Alpha Dog to tell her off. At least most of the team was probaly still together. Maybe. The white husky swore she heard her old friend apologize to Leap.
