Venna was walking through the forest at the edge of Volcano Pack territory, her head turned up to admire the sunlight scattering through the leaves overhead. It was rather beautiful, she had to admit. It was almost relaxing. Almost enough to let her forget about the dreams wolves in her pack were having.

Although they sound more like prophecies.

Although Venna hadn't had any dreams, she too felt a sense that something dark was coming. She could almost smell it.

As the she-wolf got closer to the border to with the other packs, she frowned. She could smell something. It smelled big, and dangerous. Venna stopped walking, looking around. Her heart beat faster in her chest. Something was nearby.

*fades into the next morning*

Volcan woke up the next morning "morning everyone." Volcan said as she got up and went to the food pile

Moonlight yawned. I'm tired. She thought. Maybe if I sleep again some other propechy-like thing will come to me... Moonlgith headed back towards the medic's den to sleep.

The world slowed down. Venna could feel the danger.

Holding her breath, she slowly turned in a circle. She thought that perhaps, maybe, she had smelled this creature before. But where?

There was rustling behind her and her heart jerked as she whipped around, eyes going wide. There was a giant creature, with a round head and beady, black eyes emerging from the bushes. It took her a moment to place what it must be: a bear. And, worst of all, there was a tiny cub behind it.

Venna just barely managed to let out a howl of alarm before a giant paw slammed into the side of her head, throwing her to the ground and sending her world spinning and ears ringing.

Elliot, still near the border, heard the alarm howl. His ears perked and his eyes darted to the Volcano Pack border. His breath caught in his throat when he heard the all-too-familiar roar of a bear.

He took a step towards the border but hesitated. He knew there would be consequences for crossing, but could he just let a wolf, even if from a different pack, face a bear without helping? He licked his maw, debating in his head.

Volcan heard the howl the plea for help and darted off towards the howl Volcan seen the bear hit Venna Volcan darted in front of the bear and Venna Volcan then started growled hair raised but Volcan knew that her growls wouldn't be enough to scare the bear off that has cubs with it

Tatra groggily walked out of the den what was today going to bring? He looked around hmm the food pile looks a little small we might need to hunt. He'd start to walk away to hunt until a though stopped him. The more wolves I bring the more we can bring back. He walked back to the center of the pack and howled to gather their attention. He told them to organize a hunting party and to get ready to leave.

Venna got to her paws, legs trembling. The world was still swimming in front of her, but she blearily saw Volcan. She saw when the bear snapped its teeth, missing her alpha by just a hair.

She took a steadying breath and then let out a snarl, running forward and nipping at the bear's feet. She felt its teeth snap at her heels just before she darted out of range. There was no way two wolves would be enough to fight off a bear.

But, just as the thought crossed her mind, a silver male leapt out of the foliage, hitting the bear's side and sinking his teeth into its shoulder. The bear let out a pained roar.

Volcan made her move while the other wolf had the bear realing back in pain Volcan launched herself to the other shoulder the bear was fed up stood on two legs and hit Volcan on the shoulder with its claws Volcan though hurt still kept on fighting for her pack member

how much injury are you comfortable with Volcan getting from this fight? For reference im gonna have Elliot get a little scraped up and get a sprained paw and Venna get a pretty nasty gash along her side))

The bear shook itself hard enough to dislodge the male. Venna saw as he was thrown to the ground, only he, unlike her was able to catch himself. Though apparenty not well. Venna saw his face contort with pain as he landed on his front right paw.

Venna looked around her, her brain working in overtime. They were in a dirt clearing in the woods. The trees were tall, no low-hanging branches. There were ferns and bushes and brambles on the edges of the clearing. Her eyes widened. Brambles!

Venna stepped back as the bear fell onto all four paws again. Then, she turned and, as hard as she could, kicked dirt into its eyes. She heard its roar of frustration as it shook its head. She waited. Then, when the bear raised a paw to its eyes, when it was off-balance, she lunged, throwing her entire body weight into the bear. Even with the creature off-balance, she could barely move it. But barely was enough. The bear stumbled backwards some steps, right into the brambles.

The thorns weren't long enough to draw blood and it wouldn't win them the fight by any means, but brambles were sticky. It would slow down the bears motions, as long as the wolves could keep from getting stuck in them, too.

Venna heard the bear cub let out a cry at the scene, and turned her head. Just then she felt searing, white hot pain along her right side and knew the bear had scratched her. She gasped, jumping back.
