Xyron

Psyche Dragon | Male | New Dragon | Rider: Borealis | Mentions: (directly) Borealis, (indirectly) Nuria

"I am just resting, we still have a long day ahead of us," Xyron noted, his voice carrying a reassuring tone. He observed the look of hesitation in Borealis' eyes as he gazed at her from his comfortable shady spot. The sun dappled through the leaves above, casting shifting patterns of light and shadow on the ground around them.

"Crowds make me uncomfortable," Xyron confessed, his voice tinged with a hint of vulnerability. His eyes were fixed on the bustling scene before them, a diverse assembly of humans and dragons, each engaged in their own activities. "Especially with this many reactive dragons,” He was still focused on the busy clearing, not looking at Borealis, “dragons don't share well." His words were punctuated by a soft rumble, a sound that was almost like laughter. While his tone was light, there was a serious undertone to it. Newly paired dragons tended to be a bit overprotective at first.

As Xyron's eyes traversed the sea of dragons and humans, his gaze was a pool of perplexity and yearning. He sought out his mate, but her dark figure eluded his sight within the lively assembly. She should have found her rider by now, they should be reunited. Both with their riders at their sides, ready for the world. Xyron's muscles tensed beneath his sleek golden scales. He could feel the anticipation building within him, a restlessness that was barely being contained. His musclar legs and wings were neatly folded in close him. Though, every once in a while, a twitch would be seen on his shoulder or wing, a sign of his growing restlessness.

Clarabelle

Female | New Rider | Dragon: Navi | Mentions: (directly) Navi

"What do you call your home?" Clara inquired, her voice tinged with a mix of curiosity and weariness. Today had been long already, and it was barely the afternoon. The sun became more prominent as the day went on. Her eyelids felt heavy, but she was determined to keep herself and her companion awake a little longer. She observed Navi's yawn, hoping her questions would suffice to stave off their slumber.

Clara's fingers absently traced the contours of Navi's tail, finding comfort in its weight. The rhythmic motion soothed her. "You have an accent," Clara stated, it wasn't a question, merely an observation she couldn't help but make. She found the lilting cadence of Navi's speech intriguing.

Clara turned to face Navi more, she was tired but not that tired. Plus, she didn’t want to miss anything! Clara's response was punctuated by a playful smile. "And miss all the drama?" she asked rhetorically, shaking her head with mock seriousness. "Absolutely not!" Despite the fatigue creeping into her bones, Clara's determination to soak in every moment of their shared journey remained unyielding. Clara turned serious for a moment. A worried look passed over her face, she wondered if today had been too much for the dragoness, “Though, you have traveled much further than I. I understand if you need to rest. We have plenty of time.”

'My home is called something in my own language, something you probably wouldn't understand. I'll do my best to translate it.' Her next words were an odd, coughing sort of growl, a language native to her kind and home. She paused for a moment, then said, 'I think your kind would call it Alilaya. Though I am not sure.' Another enormous yawn escaped her, her eye lids drooping over her blue-purple orbs. 'I may need a nap... I've flown a long distance, and it's been much excitement.' Curling her neck around, she tucked her nose under one taloned paw. 'If you need to sleep, you may. I will keep you safe with my wings.'

Genevieve Caballero
New Rider | Female | 17 | Mentions: Other Riders & Dragons (ind.) & Beollán (ind.)

The sun felt pleasant on her skin as she raced towards the Valley, her face flushed with excretion as she bent over and panted slightly and wiped her forehead of sweat. "Damn, no wonder dad insisted I do cardio every day," she grumbled under her breath as she finally made it. Her morning was a hellish disaster, first her wicked stepmother dared to say she cared for her and then her father had grown worse in condition. She was worried for him but she count concern herself with that as she was at an important event - she'll be able to buy him medicine with her own wages and wares. And then her carriage broke down on the way to the Ceremony because of a broken wheel ( courtesy of her stepmother she believed. ) The freckled girl noticed the dragons within the Valley and she had to give a gasp of awe as she walked down the path, she could see most of those that had appeared were already with humans and she could feel an oncoming dread well within her. Had she lost her chance? Had she come late, and it was further added to as she noticed some people leaving while others lingered being hopeful.

The girl didn't know what dragon would be hers, but she hoped she at least could be friends with them. And she had to say as she watched those chosen by their dragon interact - there was a bit of a pang in her chest. And she felt herself released an annoyed huff, she would remain positive - and not be jealous. She just had to be patient. Who knows what was in store for her as a Rider. And she walked casually, lingering away from the large groups and crowds of dragons - she stood tall and observed those chosen with her golden hazel eyes, her eyes narrowed as she took in the forms of different species. It seems there was quite a variety here this year, she mused to herself. And she fiddles with the cuff of her shirt, one that her father bought her for this occasion - he was proud of her for finding interest in dragons and even though he couldn't fathom them, she still found it sweet that he tried to help her out.

The sun graced her hair, making the redder parts of it stand out as she turned her head to get a better view of the dragons. But she was growing more and more disappointed, as it seemed that most of them had already found their rider. She gave a sigh, one of longing and she looked to the sky with an envious expression, how did it feel to fly up there, she wondered to herself, to be free of the mortal plane and tread where angels flitted about. The great sky was just as mysterious as the large ocean, so much to see and discover within it. The constellations, the clouds and just . . . freedom. It was frustrating to think that she wouldn't be chosen, but then again, next year was an option and she wouldn't give up just yet. But she oddly enough felt a tug within her soul, and softly placed her hand to her heart.

If she could feel this emotion, this magnetic tug, did her dragon? If so, where were they? It had to mean they were close . . . right?

Aphra
Venom Dragon | M | New Dragon | Mentions: Suhail (dir), Those in clearing (ind)

Aphra mulled over what the man had said. Both names were similar in their ways, but they had different feels to them. Toivo sounded very name-like, a very good human label word. Yet, Terah sounded kind of like Aphra, and it had a silkier feel that Aphra found comforting, for a name. Everything about this man had been shocking for Aphra so far, but in such a good way. Humans he imagined to be clumsy and uncomfortable, but this one felt soft and gentle, intelligent, even. That decided it for him. "I'll call you Terah. You have very pretty names, human"

With this statement, Aphra found himself self-conscious. Was addressing a "human" as such rude? Who was to say? There was no handbook for how to behave with your newly bonded, even though he would have taken it and wept to the heavens in thanks if it decided to fabricate itself into his claws right now. A guide would make things much easier. All he'd been told was "instinct will guide you." Well, it may have guided him to his person, but he didn't know what now. Wasn't there supposed to be a ride? He supposed somebody would cue him when this was meant to occur, as others were bonding around him and beginning their first interactions. He would follow their lead, that much was simple enough.

Frustration bubbled up internally within him and impatience took hold, an emotion rarely felt by the dragon. He shook it off quick as it had crept up on him and shook his head physically in the attempt to take his mind off the thoughts that plagued him. Anyway, he should probably pay attention to the whole reason he came here, the person standing in front of him.

Happiness fizzed in his chest at the question from Terah. "Yes, you may touch me. We're to be very close from now on, anyway." It brought him delight that Terah would even ask, which was odd. Who'd have thought a person simply taking an interest in him would bring such ecstasy? Then again, it was likely due to who the person was. A first meeting with one's bonded was most likely often an emotional encounter.

Moving his dark head towards the man, Aphra felt a low sound rumble through his chest for a moment or two, comparable to a purr one would hear from a cat. It was at this moment Aphra also came to realize his body posture had relaxed, which felt nice. His muscles had begun to feel stiff from how he'd held himself crouched.

Ra'd
Storm Dragon | Male | New Dragon | Mentions: Aziza

Cyan pools watched as his presence, and like his voice intruding on her thoughts, seemed to startle the girl, sending her book to the forest floor. He calmly waited for her to regain her composure, his bright gaze never wavering or bothered by her as she did. When she finally seemed to come to the realization of just what was going on and apologized for staring, Ra'd blew out his nostrils loudly. It wasn't quite a snort, but it was definitely louder than when a horse did it.

"Please, I am no... 'Sir'," he protested, Ra'd was a charismatic individual, but he was no so formal. "I do not mind being stared at, I am a dragon after all, I am quite used to it," a devious smirk played at his features and he cocked his head to the side, "Plus I think I'm quite handsome by dragon standards, so I can understand want to stare and bask in my presence." Yes. The dragon had jokes.

His attention dipped to the fallen book resting mounrfully on the ground and he wrinkled his nose a bit, feeling a tad bit guilty he might have been the cause of damaging such an item. "Apologies, I hadn't meant to startle it out of your hands," he offered to her, hoping the damage wasn't so bad as to ruin it entirely.

Ra'd's gaze moved back to Aziza's face as she answered his question, kind of. It was a vague answer, one that felt like a half answer to him. He 'tsk'ed' a bit at her and tilted his head the other direction as he slowly slid to his belly, stretching out his front legs to the left of her. "What kind of things? Are they things you'll still have to deal with later?" He wasn't trying to pry, but if she was trying to read during what some consider a life changing even, then he assumed the issues at hand truly had to be bothersome.

When she held out her hand to him, he looked at it blankly, and then back up to her face, before back to her hand. What was he supposed to do with it? Shrugging he lifted his left paw and brought it down on hers, like an uncoordinated high five, except he probably did it with enough force to knock her hand, and likely her, to the ground, though not enough to actually hurt her.

"My name is Ra'd, Aziza, your dragon."

Keziah Layne
New Rider | Female | Mentions: Beatrice, Kenji, Haki, Aalis

Some of her nervousness disipated when Beatrice grasped her hand again, not allowing her to retreat any further than she already had. While Beatrice's assurance that the dragons would be fine and she was safe didn't sound the most confident, it still offered comfort to Keziah and she found herself relaxing a bit more, though not entirely.

Her eyes darted to where Kenji was still with his dragon, naturally following Beatrices lead, but she didn't call out. There was no need to when Bea had it covered all on her own. Eventually her eyes drifted back to Bea and she squeezed her hand for a second, taking comfort in the human contact as her brain raced ahead at a million paces a second. Their lives had all just been flipped completely upside down, and while she was incredibly happy for her friends, she couldn't help but feel a pang of being the odd man out for a second. Both Kenji and Beatrice were dragon riders, and while she was content not being chosen, she would be lying is she didn't have the whisper of a worry about being left behind. They wouldn't do that though, right?

Her attention snapped back, focusing on Beatrice as she released her hand suddenly and grasped her shoulders. Confusion contorted her features as she searched her friend's face to try and figure out what was going on, what was with Bea's change of attitude. "Bea," she started but stopped herself as her friend continued, her words not quite matching the tone she spoke with or her face. Her brow knitted and she narrowed her eyes suspiciously, before looking up at the Lunar Dragon who had chosen her friend and raised a brow. "She doesn't look that angry, Bea," she said, her voice still coated in confusion.

Still, she trusted Beatrice so she began to slowly take steps back, allowing her friend to guide her backwards. Suddenly she bumped into something and she visibly stiffened, her eyes widening in both shock and horror. Had Beatrice just purposely backed her into someone?! What was the meaning of this? Her lips parted to speak, and she slowly turned, already cringing at the idea of trying to explain to someone what was going on even if she had no idea what it was.

However, it wasn't a person she had back up into, no, it was a dragon. A freaking dragon! Her best friend had just walked her backwards into a DRAGON! Her face shifted into a look of shock, mild panic, and fear, and she lifted her hands up in a peaceful manner, and was about to apologize when she realized the dragon had been standing there, staring at her. Had it been about to eat her?

"Oh," she murmured out stupidly, her hazel eyes big and blinking, "Um. Hi."

Sedna Nurul Seelen
New Rider | Male | Mentions: Neryth

Sedna watched the dragon, his gaze relatively blank, with hint of curiosity. There was no judgement on his face, simply studying the large fire dragon. He still couldn't really believe that he'd been bonded with, years of doubt immediately down the drain. And, well, he couldn't exactly convince himself that Neryth was mistaken, could he? They were talking telepathically, after all.

The young man gave a huffed laugh at her words, nodding his head. 'Yeah, I can't say death or injury were exactly on my to-do list for today, so I appreciate that,' he said through the aforementioned bond, careful to watch those around them. Not like he expected to be attacked or for anyone to lash out, not really, but Kaia had told him enough stories about how ceremonies turned nasty for him to be wary.

'About myself?' Sedna repeated, furrowing his brows in thought. 'Not sure if there's much to say, really,' he said, tilting his head. 'I come from the coast, out near the ocean. My brother is Kaia,' he gestured over to the man as he said his name, watching with a moment of humor as his brother stood by the edge of the forest, seemingly abandoned by hiss reptilian friends. 'He's gonna be our squad leader. I'm gonna hate it,' Sedna added, his tone partially joking as he rolled his eyes.

'My immediate family isn't big,' he said, his tone betraying how deep in thought he was as he searched for anything to give his new lifelong companion. 'Just my mother, my father, Kaia and me. We've got grandparents, an aunt, an uncle, and a couple cousins on dads side, a much bigger family on my mothers side, but I'm not particularly close to my family,' he shrugged, like the acknowledgement didn't sting a little bit, but the hurt had faded as he grew older.

Sedna shook his head, as if shaking off the train of thought, before grasping a new one. 'Anyway, what about yourself? Or got anything you specifically wanna know about me?'

Suhail Toivo Terah Koskinen
New Rider | Male | Mentions: Aphra

There's absolutely no way today was real, Terah decided.

'You have a very pretty name too, dragon,' Terah responded to the reptile, his tone taking on a teasing note. Aphra. It was a pretty name, and it suited the serpentine dragon, in his opinion anyway. 'My dad's gonna be so excited when I tell him about you,' he said, grinning to himself, lifting his hand further to gently splay his fingers across the dragons head. 'And my aunts gonna be real happy too. Soudeh's gonna be pissed that she didn't get to be the first dragon rider in the family, though,' the man chuckled, proving that the statement held no true weight to it.

While he hadn't been expecting a bond, Terah found that he was happy with what he'd been given. He was happy with a dragon, even if this meant his role in the kingdom had to fall into the path of protecting it, of patrolling and being a law abiding citizen. Maybe he could still spend a little time with his dad, even if their paths in life were so shockingly far from one another.

Terah moved his hand to lightly scratch the scales on the dragons head, watching the dragon closely. He ran his other hand through his hair, exhaling slowly. This was his life now, from now until the day he died. He found he didn't hate it as much as he thought he would have.

Aalis Soile
Light Dragon | New Dragon | Female | Mentions: Keziah, Beatrice, Hakidonmuya

The dragoness watched the happenings around her with quiet humor. She watched as the two other humans, the ones already bonded, had seen her, as had their dragons. It would seem neither believed she was a threat to their humans, although the storm dragon seemed to be the more aggressive of the two. She barely quietened her small laugh when the human and Lunar Dragon teamed up to move her human backwards, stepping towards her. She was also grateful for it, not wanting to intrude too far into the space of the other dragons.

Aalis felt the bond snap into place more than she felt the human back into her, her humans frame unexpectedly light. She continued to watch, arching her neck and angling her head to keep her eyes on the human, as her rider turned to face her. The light dragon hummed, tilting her head in confusion when her rider seemed.. scared of her.

"Hello," she replied, shifting backwards slightly so that she could comfortably move lower to the ground, crouching in a way that had her head closer to the human. The ivory dragoness studied her rider with a large, glowing eye. 'My name is Aalis Soile, and I'm your dragon,' she supplied through the bond, humming again, pleased, when she knew the message had gone through. She'd done it, she'd found her rider! Oh, K'issuk would be proud, and Nava would be happy for her. Her human was such a small, cute little thing.

'Oh, I've been so excited to find you,' Aalis told her, kneading the ground with her paws, claws retracted. 'Nava and I, Nava is my sister, we've travelled very far to come here so that we could find our humans. And I'm so happy that I've found you, and oh, you're just so adorable,' Aalis rambled on, shifting her weight around slightly so she could lift one of her forepaws to gently grasp the humans hand to shake it, as she'd seen other humans do.

'My, oh, my! Aren't you just a tiny little human?' Aalis asked, blinking down at how small the humans hand was in her paw. 'Fear not, I won't hurt you, even if you're very small. Tell me, what's your name? I bet it's very pretty. You seem like someone that has a pretty name.' Aalis hardly realized she was somewhat rambling, her words quick. She did, however, finally take a breath before she continued to talk through the bond. 'Oh, I can't wait to introduce you to Nava and K'issuk!'
