Atri looked at his parents, they almost seemed as if they were... Staring. "Come now darling! Tell us, what have you been up to these past few months hmm? We were very worried for you!" His mother piped up. ~ Atri felt sick inside. He knew she was PISSED yet she covered it so well... Although, they did raise him so of course he knew she was being sarcastic. Atri cleared his throat, his voice sounded soft and calming, almost as if he was a whole new person. "Well mother, I headed out of town to look at the University that's there. The one researching gifteds and how their abilities work. The one you wanted me to go to?" He raised his head to look at his mother. ~ "Well, I decided it wasn't as great as you made it out to be so I spent a bit of time travelling. That's where I met these guys, near one of the towns." Atri coughed slightly to clear his throat. God this voice is annoying to keep. ~ His mother's eyes darkened as her smile faltered. "Well dear, there's plenty more places in the world for something like you. Its not the end of the world, you are only young." She stood up from her seat as she tapped her cutlery on her wine glass to get everyone's attention. "I can only imagine what you have all been through, as thank you for being with our son we hope you enjoy our food. You are all more than welcome to stay a few nights in the guest bedrooms." She gestured towards the dishes in the middle of the table. ~ Atri reached for one of the dishes and lifted the lid off, a giant roast chicken surrounded by steaming roast vegetables and gravy lay on the silver plate. His mouth began to water. |
