| using other people's art as reference becomes fuzzy in also that they've usually already stylized it, making it hard to pinpoint anatomy stuff. |

| using reference images is important. :) i still use reference pictures even after 8 years. only my chibi work is completely we ball'ed without looking at pictures lol in my opinion tracing is fine as practice, as long as you do not post it in forums or sell it lol. |

| Amy Hey reference photos are not bad to use, just don't trace over them unless you are learning the anatomy shapes. I use ref pictures all the time. Hell i use some of my old art as ref photos when i need help with wings and claw shapes. |
