You find yourself at the gates of a city, the city. Black metal ravens decorate the immense unyielding entrance and a towering wall surrounds the Nest. Five different wolves, all black and brown and sandy colored, drag you to the foot of the gates.

Snarls and growls and barks of the desert wolves can be heard from within the city and the walls where dozens more highly trained guards sit, yelling at the ones down on the ground with you.

After a few more minutes of barking at each other, the wolves surrounding you grab you and pull you back while the gates creak open to let you past.

A sandy and black wolf grabs a rope tied around your snout to work as a makeshift muzzle and pulls hard, making you bite your tongue. You taste the metallic tang of blood in your mouth as you are dragged inside. The sounds of the city fill your ears. You spot a white wolf with some black markings at the counter of a shop, pushing a cracked jar towards a customer.

The guards don’t appreciate you stopping to watch and the pale colored wolf leading you yanks on the rope, making you stumble forwards a bit and a stocky dark brown wolf with huge spotted wings pushes from behind. Neither show you any sign of sympathy or pity, only the occasional annoyed glance.

They bring you to the edge of a pool of water. You wish you could take a drink but that is way out of the question. Instead the sandy and black wolf hands over her rope to a brown wolf with dark almost black brown legs and markings with golden wings that shimmer like metal though they are only feathers. Two more winged wolves join them, a young but strong looking grey she-wolf with black spots and white wings and an all black wolf with grey wings.

They tie more ropes to you, making something that resembles a harness of sorts. Next, the guards take to the air, lifting you up with them as you are carried over the oasis pool and to a wolf-made island in the middle.

On that island is a large light sandy colored tent with two wolves posted just outside, one on either side of the entrance. As you reach the tent, you are set down. They leave the harness on, probably in case you try to escape you think, and hand you over to the guards just outside the tent. They lead you inside the tent. You find yourself in a place lit by firelight. A snakeskin rug covers the ground in the center of the tent and a black metal throne decorated with the same ravens as on the gates sits in the back. A figure is laying on the throne. A big she-wolf with surprisingly long fur for a desert wolf. Her fur is mostly an unnatural vibrant orange and yellow, especially around her neck, where it looks like a mane of fire. Her face is ebony black as well as the back half of her body. Her fur seems to radiate heat.

Guards flanking you on either side, they drag you a step closer as the ebony and flame colored wolf stands and stalks menacingly yet regally over to you. She towers over you. The heat from her fur is so intense it is overwhelming as she speaks in a low bone chilling voice, “Now what do we have here?”
