You have just happened to stumble upon the territory of the Mac Dolovan Pack. Don't be afraid, we enjoy visitors. The worst we could do is shower you with love. Come, sit down, make yourself comfortable and we'll tell you a bit about ourselves....

Crickets chirped their harmonious tune into the dark blue of a mountain night. Shin lie on the cool grass, moist with soon-to-be dew.

He dreamt that he was running. His legs pumped underneath him with each graceful stride, his chest heaved with each breath he took.

Yet he felt no exhaustion, as if he may go on forever. All his muscles worked in harmony to propel him through the deep black. Ahead, he could spot a grey mist. Fog. Fearful, Shin tried to dig his paws into the thick air and skid to a stop, but instead he sped up.

It was as if he had no control over himself or where he was going. No! The word exploded in his head as he charged into the dull, wet expanse. As soon as he broke into the fog, white light flashed around him.

Shin suddenly stopped and was flung forward by the thundering boom. As the light faded, he could make out little stars lighting the black void that surrounded him. Then mists began to appear, swirling around him and whispering inaudibly or in a language he did not know.

The voices got louder and more urgent, overwhelming Shin so much that he toppled to the ground, or whatever one called the endless black. Then there was another explosion of white, and this threw him for several leagues. A wolf should be dead from this kind of fall! He thought.

As he stumbled back onto his paws, the mists were beginning to take shape. Lochins! Shin puffed out his broad chest and stood up the spirits, trying to cover for his silly falls.

Shin, the lochin spoke, you are the first. The first for what? I'm just an Omega. Not anymore. You will be the spark that lights the fire of the greatest pack of all wolf kind.

A spark?... is there going to be a fire that will destroy the forest? You are the spark that will start a fire. But... I can't! I haven't seen a fire in my entire life - wait. A new thought emerged in his mind and cleared away all of his confused thoughts. I am going to start a pack, aren't I? Shin's heart thumped. Yes, young soul. But not alone. You'll be there to guide me. And she will... an image of a young, grey and silver she wolf appeared in front of him.

She's... beautiful! His tail wagged back and forth. This journey is not for the faint of heart, Shin. You must leave your family behind... and start your new life of destiny. Shin stared the lochin dead in the eyes. I will not let you down. Under my rule, the greatest pack will be born.

The spirits each dipped their heads in farewell and soon the dream faded away... a mere memory that would change the lives of him and his future pack.

And then the Mac Dolovan Pack was born. We are the remaining descendants from the Wolves of the Beyond, and live in what our ancestors called the Distant Blue.
