Cae No it makes total sense. I think for us it originated from my great grandmother and her religious beliefs. But over the last few generations we've evolved more towards using these holidays as an excuse to bond since we don't throughout the year

Cae Yeah I know my immediate family (exept my younger brother) is not very religious, but my uncle on my dad's side is very heavily christian, so he celebrates it as much as possible. I understand not believing in a religion, but when you eclevrate a holiday of that religion it doesnt make sense not to appreciate the spirituality behind it, you know?

@Caesar I know for my family specifically, we were colonized into the religion, so it's become a apart of our culture, but not at all our religious beliefs

dom, if youre celebrating a religion's special day, id assume youre also partaking at least a bit in said religion. like, "the least religious family" could still be believers, just not hardcore, if that makes sense?
Domovoi
Cae Honestly I know most families who celebrate not because of religious beliefs but because it's a big excuse for family gatherings and family bonding. I know my family is that way for most holidays. We are the least religious family you would ever meet

I don't really know, Cae. I've started on a path of my own. And I don't want to be told that I'll eventually return to the Abrahamic God!

@Cramp Is this for Christmas? Tons of people celebrate for family. My family is korean and ojibwe, and we celebrate it for those reasons
Caeruleum
genuine question, what would you even celebrate if youre not celebrating the religious day?
ChatNoir
I'm annoyed at the fact one of my sisters said that I shouldn't celebrate Christmas if I don't believe in the Abrahamic God. Honestly.

The Mysterion Pack live deep in an ancient, dense forest where trees have been free to age with grace and grow in size never to be cut down in their prime. From its home in the equally ancient mountains further up north a river flows in the heart of the land providing all creatures great and small with life giving water. The wolves themselves have lived here for generations and are always peaceful only ever killing for food and to defend their family. They base themselves on good morals protecting the innocent, taking care of their forest, and accepting all lone wolves in need of a pack of their own. Many a wolf has been welcomed here and allowed to stay or go as needed, even females are allowed to give birth here.Pups need a healthy home to grow and often the pups are allowed to stay even if their mothers leave for whatever reason.Rest assured that their offspring will be taking care of until they too are allowed to stay or leave as they please. --------------------------------------------------------------- There are a few rules that are taking very seriously For one all wolves must obey and respect the alpha pair. All wolves must respect other wolves whether or not they belong to the pack,no fighting is allowed.Unless there is dire threat. All creatures are to be respected.Killing only allowed when in need of food or in the face of a danger/threat. Killing of prey must be as quick and painless as possible. Every wolf within the pack gets their fair share of meat. As long as these rules are followed all is well and peaceful. Just as the Mysterion Pack likes it. --------------------------------------------------------------- "So wake me up when it's all over, when I'm wiser and I'm older. All this time I was finding myself and I didn't know I was lost." - R.I.P. Avicii. ;a; If you're wondering yes I got my pack name "Mysterion" from South Park. I'm a fan and Kenny's my favorite character and equally so is his super hero alter ego Mysterion. And there ya go the Mysterion Pack. :-P 0 Comments |
