Bending back heavy, dripping leaves the scent of fresh water drifts within a thick, humid mist. The path you've stumbled upon is worn, brambles crushed into rich mud, stones churned and smoothed by a thousand steps, and despite the density of the jungle the trees seem cautious to drape their vines across this path, beaten back as they've been by an unseen force.

But the tracks beneath your feet are not like your own, the earth is traced with pawprints.

Your gaze snaps up, drawn by sudden howling that fills the air and seeps into your ears. And then you see it, within the secretive embrace of the jungle, a spring of water. It seems scarlet as an apple at first glance, but slowly you realize as you press forward, the spring is in fact crystal clear and is colored a strange bloom within its base.
Entranced you wander on, and don't seem to notice the dark eyes peering at you, claws grazing the branches high above, the twitch of a nose within the bushes.

It will be the last thing you fail to notice.

Your journey through these vast jungles has been long and difficult, plagued at every turn by mosquitoes, the heat of the sun above, and nature's finest torments.

Having crested the peak of a hill you collapse exhausted, without the energy to even lift your head and gaze into the valley below.

If you only had, you would have glimpsed the regal valley, woven of jasmine and plumeria, full-bellied wolves recline under the fragrant eaves. It is the birthplace of the pack.
