| katy my go to is an update when I finish the sketch, an update half way through lineart to see if anything needs to be changed, and then another when I start coloring and rendering. I've found it works well. |

| Et the thing that sucks the most about the sitaution is I'm pretty understanding, I get it, life happens, I was willing to wait as along as she communicated and gave me updates. Updates were few and far inbetween in that time period, I had to message repeatedly to get any acknowledgement and it was always for a different reason. My comm was for a ref sheet and I ended up not being happy with the results because it was missing a lot of the details we had spoken about, that I had paid extra to have revised in the beginning of this whole process. I still have the ref sheet but I'm hoping on getting it redone by a different artist soon because it just wasn't what I wanted. |

| Eternity That is the worst. I once had an artist who was wanting emergency comms, so they sent me their art portfolio. That portfolio had AI art in it and I decides against getting one from them. |

| The Comet Helllp that drives me around the bend. I've been ghosted a few times, it's the worst. Very recently I had to keep [gently] hounding an artist to get back to me/update me but um Then it turned out they got hit by a car 🧍♂️ And y'know what, in fairness to them, I still got my art piece. |

| i usually will send a WIP when i finish the sketch of the commission, but i've found most people get annoyed with more updates than that xD |

| Et answered! on a similiar topic, the longest I've waited on a comm was for nine months(the TAT was 3 months), they finally delivered after little to no responses to my asks for updates, promised a free piece to make it up, and then never delivered on the free piece. She was constantly posting stuff like that while at the same time advertising open comms, yet she couldn't finish mine in the time period she originally promised. It irks me so bad, especially as a fellow artist who does comms :/ |
